Chapter 3012: Global Phenomenon
Chapter 3012: Global Phenomenon
The Azure Dragon Patriarch opened his eyes deep in his chambers. His eyes narrowed for a moment in a frown.
The aura in the distance, the one that said someone was learning a Dao, had been strong from the start, leading him to believe someone was learning an important, difficult Dao.
That sort of thing would not have surprised him usually, but today, the worldly laws lasted a bit too long.
The length usually meant one of two things. Either someone was taking their time going through the final mysteries of the Dao they were learning.
Or, they were learning more than a single Dao at the same time.
Which one was it?
If it was the former, he could close his eyes again. But if it was the latter…
“Zhangru,” he said in almost a whisper, but Qing Zhangru could still hear his Patriarch’s words.
“I am here, Patriarch,” Qing Zhangru said from outside the chambers.
“Do you sense this?” the Patriarch asked.
“I do. It’s strange.”
The Patriarch agreed. “Do you know who is learning this Dao? Have reports come yet?”
“Yes, but…”
“But what?” the Patriarch asked.
“I’m being told that the one learning the Dao is not from our continent,” Qing Zhangru said.
“What?” The Patriarch stood up from his seat, surprised. Instantly, his Divine Sense spilled out of his body, spreading through the land faster than it had any right to. In an instant, it reached from the northern Poison Jungles of the Dragon Continent to the frozen mountain lakes of the south.
And as he was told, the one learning the Dao was not from his continent.
The Patriarch couldn’t believe it. ’But this strength. How can it not be from close by?’
His senses spread forth, covering the massive ocean before arriving at the edges of the Phoenix Continent. There it stopped, unable to advance due to him not having any right to use his Divine Sense here.
However, he could at least confirm that whatever was happening was happening inside the Phoenix Continent.
“Zhangru, this is coming from the Phoenix Continent,” the Patriarch said. “Find out what is happening.”

Deep underwater, hidden inside giant unnatural caverns in the Dark Isles, were two sisters side by side.
“It’s from the Phoenix Continent,” one of the sisters said. “Such a strong aura. I wonder what they are learning.”
“Or how many,” the other replied, moving around her in a constant circle. “Do you think this could have something to do with what Rinzhou asked of us?”
“We’ve already sent others to the Ancestral Grounds to check on the thing. It is functional,” the first sister, still sitting on an underwater seat, said.
“Not what I meant, sister. There is a reason she asked us to check on it. There can only be one reason,” the moving sister said.
The sitting sister nodded. “She’s found someone who can force us to make true on our vows,” she said. “Then she must have found either him or her.”
The moving sister stopped and nodded. “She has to have found either the Sun God or the Moon Goddess.”
The sitting sister smiled. “Should I ask someone to find out?”
The other sister smiled as well. “You’re too late, sister. I’ve already asked Lingkai. She’s on her way.”
“You’re much smarter than me, sister.”
The other sister started laughing and started moving again. Her body slithered through the dark water for a moment longer until she climbed down and wrapped around the body of her sister’s shell.
The one sitting on the seat was a large tortoise. The one moving was the snake.
They were two sisters, but in truth, they were one being.
She was a Black Tortoise. And perhaps, more importantly, she was Xuan Qukuang.
The Matriarch of the Black Tortoises.

“Grandfather!”
Bai Fulin quickly entered the room of the White Tiger Patriarch’s chambers, arriving before the large beast. “I have gathered reports from throughout the continent. The phenomenon happening currently seems to be outside of our continent.”
“Good job. I didn’t ask you to gather anything, so it must’ve been one of my cousins, wasn’t it?” the Patriarch asked.
“They wished to learn what was happening, so I took the initiative,” Bai Fulin said. “Since it is outside of our jurisdiction, do you wish for me to go there and check on what is happening?”
The Patriarch smiled. “Yes. Please leave the continent, but don’t actually search for any answers. Just hang around the Phoenix Continent for a while and return when the phenomenon disappears.”
Bai Fulin was confused. “You don’t wish to learn what is happening?” she asked.
“I already know what is happening. I just don’t wish for the others to find out just yet,” the Patriarch said.
Bai Fulin gave a weird look, expecting the Patriarch to say more, but the Patriarch remained tight-lipped. She stood there for a few seconds longer before she realized what was happening.
The Patriarch knew something, but he didn’t wish for the others to learn about it too. So long as she learned nothing, the others couldn’t pressure her to speak of it.
That was smart.
“I shall leave right away, Patriarch!” Bai Fulin said, leaving the room in an apparent hurry.
The Patriarch sighed, sitting back on his seat. He had read Bai Jingshen’s message and knew what was happening.
On one hand, he wished Alex would’ve chosen a better place where he could get away with making such a commotion.
On the other hand, the Vermilion Bird Patriarch seemed to already realize the truth, so it was maybe better that he was away from this place. She had a much better hold on her position there than he did here.
That was lucky.
’Still,’ he thought. ’Four Daos at once. And he’s not even fully done. What a monstrous demonstration. He truly is the Sun God.’

Various kings, queens, and rulers of the other smaller continents as well as the various Ocean-Deep Kingdoms were also sending their representatives to find out what was happening.
The phenomenon had caused everyone to come knocking at the Vermilion Bird’s doors.
