Chapter 3010: Devoid of Demons and Descending Daos

Chapter 3010: Devoid of Demons and Descending Daos

Alex was surprised.

Once again, he had skipped his Inner Demon. There had been nothing that stopped him from progressing to the next realm.

At this point, he was more or less confident he knew what was happening.

Heaven was more than just rules. It was the Intent of the Sun God and Moon Goddess. Qi surely had its own semblance of sentience as well, but it was mostly governed by the True Gods’ Intent.

The True Gods had tried to be born over and over through the humans living in their world. Humans and demons were constantly born as their avatars, carrying with them the Sun God and Moon Goddess’ body.

They were likely meant to do something important. Alex couldn’t yet believe that it was something so grand as bringing together all lands throughout the world to form a new planet. But if it was, then those two Avatars needed to live.

Not only did they need to live, they needed to grow and evolve as well.

If the two Gods were biased from the start and started protecting them through all the hurdles in life, the two Avatars would grow up to be nothing other than spoiled imbeciles.

So, the Heaven treated them as any regular person for as long as it could.

However, once the new Avatars had progressed far enough in evolving their bodies, like Alex had reached the Celestial Grade and the Immortal Realm, Heaven needed to start making sure they did not fall to simple obstacles.

The Inner Demon was such an obstacle, and Alex was confident that the Sun God, or the remnant of his Intent, had now made it so that Heaven no longer created one for him.

As such, Alex could break through without having to worry about Inner Demons.

The very fact that Alex knew he was to become the Sun God would affect his Inner Demon as well, so it was good that it was removed. Or else, the likelihood of him, or any other avatar, failing due to it would be quite high.

Because of the way their bond worked, Alex handled Whisker’s half of the Inner Demon too, which once again, Heaven didn’t give him.

It all made perfect sense now. It also made Alex wonder if he would have to face Lightning Tribulation when breaking through to the Divine Realm. But that was a much more important step than breaking through to the Immortal Transcendent Realm, so it was very much possible he would have to face it.

It was also many, many years away for now, so he didn’t have to waste his time thinking on it.

Instead, he was about to break through, so it was time to focus on that.

As Alex moved closer and closer to the breakthrough, he began slowly losing himself in a trance he never expected to fall under in that moment. Alongside his breakthrough, he was also calling on the Worldly Laws, so he had unconsciously begun learning the final few Mysteries he had yet to learn during his days in Hell, filling the last of the gaps that were needed for him to fully learn it.

Once he did, the Dao descended.

* * * * *

Figures in and out of the Vermilion Bird Palace could sense the descent of the Worldly Laws. At their stage, they had enough experience that they could differentiate between when someone was breaking through and learning a Dao.

As such, they could tell that both were currently happening.

Learning a Dao while breaking through to the next realm was not new. It was uncommon, but not rare for anyone to be surprised by it.

But the amount of it that was going on was certainly so.

“What is going on?”

“Someone is learning a… Dao?”

“How strong is this Dao?”

“I think there’s more than one.”

“I can sense some Time Dao in there.”

People around the city outside and the palace inside couldn’t help but comment on the nature of what they were witnessing. Their clamor grew bigger as they tried to understand what was happening.

Those on the outside could do nothing, but those on the inside could.

Many Divine Senses spread through the palace, many strong ones coming from underneath it, landing on Alex’s room. However, a strong barrier stopped many of them from entering.

Many tried to leave their place to force down the barrier to see who it was, but just then, the Matriarch spoke for all to hear. ᴛʜs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛʀ s ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛ ʙʏ ⓝovelFire.net

“No one is allowed to inspect what is happening. If your Divine Sense is noticed anywhere near, you will be punished.”

Her words echoed throughout the palace in an instant, stopping all curious-minded Phoenixes from trying to further look into the room.

In her own dwelling, the Matriarch sat before a few people.

Feng Ningzhu was there, having returned just a day ago after delivering a letter to the Black Tortoise Matriarch. Close by him sat Feng Kangli, the Matriarch’s own daughter, who had brought along her husband.

The Matriarch rubbed her forehead. “Does anyone know what is happening right now?” she asked. “And please don’t state the obvious.”

Ningzhu couldn’t help but do so. “But the obvious is the truth, Aunt Rinzhou. The young man is learning a Dao or many of them.”

“There are many of them,” the Matriarch sensed. “I can sense at least two Temporal Daos. And I myself only know three. How the hell can a human learn so much? That too at once?”

Ningzhu didn’t answer.

“Mother,” Kangli spoke up, “didn’t you say he’s special?”

“He is,” the Matriarch said. “He is very special. But even that shouldn’t allow him to learn so many Daos at once. This… this is something else entirely.”

“Well…” Ningzhu finally spoke up. “During our first meeting, he did mention understanding the Time Daos. He had said he hadn’t learned it, but–”

Ningzhu’s words cut off as he looked away, everyone around him sensing the same thing he sensed.

Alex had just learned the Dao of Time.

And this was just the beginning.
