Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 3002: Reason to Bond

Chapter 3002: Reason to Bond

Scarlet turned sharply toward her mother, her eyes wide with apparent shock.

“What?” her mother asked. “Don’t even think of leaving with them before they’re done with their Trial. I will not have my daughter go through such unneeded danger.”

“O-okay,” Scarlet said, letting the matter pass. That had never been her concern in the first place. It was the mere fact that her mother even considered letting her go afterward that had surprised her.

Given how protective she had been these past few centuries, she could only imagine what Alex could have done to change her mind this much.

“Young man, tell me more about yourself. How did you come to be so good with Alchemy?” Scarlet’s mother asked, steering their conversation.

Alex answered her question as well as he could, explaining how he had received a book when he was young, and then how he had gotten an Alchemy Master once he became an Immortal.

Thankfully, Feng Xianhei needed no more to be convinced that was all he had needed.

She kept talking, explaining how she too had been an alchemist from a young age and was one of the greatest alchemists of this world, but she didn’t have nearly as much talent as Alex did right now. If he progressed to the Divine Realm at the same rate, he would be a much better alchemist.

Scarlet slowly realized what was happening. Alex had shown off his alchemy skills, leading to her mother getting persuaded enough that not only had she decided to let the bond stay, but was now also willing to let her daughter go with them, if there was no sign of danger.

“Mother, I think it will be good if Alex were to teach you some of the things he knew,” Scarlet said. “You could teach him some things you know too. There should be some difference in what the Beasts know and what the Humans know.”

“Oh! That’s not a bad idea,” Alex said. “I am perfectly happy to share my alchemy knowledge, Senior.”

“Really? I would love that,” Scarlet’s mother said. “I’ll leave you all to talk now. I will go have the servants prepare some rooms for you all to stay in.” ᴛʜs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛʀ s ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛ ʙʏ novel⁂fire.net

“Thank you, Mother,” Scarlet said, sending her away.

Scarlet waited until her mother was gone before turning around. “Just what sort of pill did you make to convince her?” she asked.

“Just a regular pill,” Alex said. “She was surprised by the speed, I suppose.”

They talked for a while longer, going through everything they wanted to know about. Scarlet spoke of how it was back in the Lower World with his friends and Master he had left behind. Alex spoke of his family that he had yet to find.

“Someone told them the Lower Realm was safe to go to and get back their treasures,” Bai Jingshen added. “So I do believe your family made their way to the Sky God’s Palace already.”

“Right, I asked too. But they refused to answer any questions at all, so I couldn’t find anything specifically,” Scarlet said. She turned toward Bai Jingshen next. “Speaking of the Lower World, how is Xuan Luhei doing? Last I heard, he lost his body.”

“They talked of giving him a new one, but I’m not really sure what happened there. I haven’t communicated with anyone from the Black Tortoise Family after returning.”

“Well, I’m sure he’s in the right hands,” Scarlet said.

Alex tried the fruits on the table before them, finding them quite exquisite. The sweetness and flavors they carried practically melted on his tongue, covering his entire mouth in moments.

He quite liked that.

“Oh right, I heard the Vermilion Birds don’t know much about the Sun God, is that true?” Alex asked. “I was told they believe in the Phoenix Mother more than the Sun God.”

“It’s true,” Scarlet said. “Back when I left for the Lower Realm, I didn’t even know what the Sun God was. The upper echelon knows of him, but they don’t really share that knowledge as much, since they believe it doesn’t matter. The Phoenixes have all come from the Phoenix Mother, so they believe her to be the one who blessed us.”

“It took me some convincing to even get it through to her that the Sun God existed back then,” Bai Jingshen said. “She didn’t believe it was because of your body that she had been drawn to bond with you.”

“I thought I was drawn toward his White Tiger’s bloodline at the time. It was only after he gave it up that I truly realized that alone was not it,” Scarlet said. “That was when I started trusting that the Sun God thing might’ve been real.”

“Oh!” Alex said. He was starting to forget there was once a time when he had the White Tiger’s Bloodline. It felt like a lifetime ago now.

“Of course, there is also the fact that the Godkiller himself told him that. He is one of the few Humans that almost everyone from the Big Families know about. We truly only learn about the important ones and he is someone that could be considered the most important.”

Bai Jingshen laughed. “And not a single one of you ever suspected that he could’ve been living right here in this world. He lived just a few dozen kilometers away from the White Tiger’s Palace.”

Alex raised an eyebrow. “He did?” he asked.

“Yes,” Bai Jingshen said.

“Can we visit the place?”

Bai Jingshen shrugged. “Sure, but there’s nothing there. My Master was nothing more than a hermit, and even the hut he was living in has long since been destroyed.”

“Oh…” Alex said, somewhat disappointed.

“Well, for what it matters, I am more inclined to believe that the Sun God was responsible for the blessing than the Phoenix Mother,” Scarlet said.

Alex nodded slowly. “Oh right, your mother said there was a painting of the Phoenix Mother somewhere in the palace. Any chance we could see it?”

“You can,” Scarlet said. “Not just the painting either. Let me show you the whole palace.”
