Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 2998: Worthy

Chapter 2998: Worthy

Scarlet’s mother slowly stared at the sky, her mind reeling with the lack of understanding as to what had just happened.

A moment ago, she had clearly sensed the pill to be less than what could be considered good, but then a moment later, it had somehow evolved to become perfect enough to call on the Pill Cloud. This content belongs to n0velfire.net

What had just happened? How could such a thing even be possible?

The Pill Cloud appeared within the room as well, with tiny tendrils of lightning crackling underneath it, as though a threat to the Alchemist sitting below.

The first Pill Lightning struck down, aiming for the pill, only to be stopped by Alex’s fist.

Alex remained still, his eyes looking directly at Scarlet’s mother without a single flinch.

The second Pill Lightning struck down as well, hitting his fist again. At such a close distance, the sound of the Pill Lightning was deafening.

The third lightning struck down at his fist. And then the fourth.

“Stop!” Scarlet’s mother said, seeing as the Pill Cloud was still active after the fourth lightning bolt. “Stop it, you won.”

Alex raised an eyebrow in surprise. “But I’m not done yet.”

The fifth lightning bolt struck down and Scarlet’s mother flinched on his behalf. She slowly turned back around with a look of confusion on her face.

“Just stop it. You’ll hurt yourself,” she said. “The next one is going to be too strong for you.”

’Ah!’ Alex finally realized what was happening. She was worried for him. The next lightning bolt was going to hold the strength of Immortal Transcendent 6th Realm, which from her perspective, he could not handle.

“Do not worry, Senior,” Alex said. “I am not suicidal.”

The next lightning bolt struck his hand and yet it was incapable of leaving a single mark on his skin at all, let alone harm him.

Scarlet’s mother’s beak opened agape, her vermilion eyes doubting what she was seeing. The seventh Pill Lightning came down and then the eighth. And even then, there was nothing they could do to Alex.

In the final moment, the ninth Pill Lightning struck his fist, and only then did it manage to leave a mark. And even that was nothing more than a slight scratch that healed almost the moment it appeared.

The Pill Cloud slowly vanished and Alex opened his palm to reveal the pill that had formed. With nine stark blue veins appearing upon it, not a single beast there could claim, even with the strictest of criteria, that he had failed.

If this was not a success, then nothing was.

Alex tossed the pill over to Scarlet’s mother to check. The pill floated next to her, stopping before her face that was frozen in shock. The pill rotated around, but it was impossible to tell if she had even looked at it thoroughly. It was very much possible that she wasn’t completely in the moment to understand what she had to be doing.

Alex took the next two pills in either of his palms, and used the Divine Elemental Accord technique on them one after another to add to their energy until they too were both at 100% Harmony.

The Pill Clouds appeared one after another, both mixing together to become darker as they prepared to strike down both of his pills.

The Pill Lightnings fell individually, striking at each of his fists. But once again, they were far too weak to do anything.

Alex held up his fists for the entire duration of the nine Pill Lightnings to strike down, and at the end of it, finally opened them to reveal the two nine-veined pills.

The pills flew off his palms and up to Scarlet’s mother. At which point, he finally spoke again. “There, I’ve done what you’ve asked of me, Senior. I have successfully made three good pills.”

The three Memories phased into one.

“So, have I passed your test, or is there more to this?”

Scarlet’s mother opened her mouth to speak multiple times, before finally managing to make a sound a few seconds later. “That’s… that’s enough. You passed.”

Alex smiled and took away Memory. He stood up from where he sat and dusted his robes. “Then, can we please meet your daughter now? It has been a long time since we were separated.”

Scarlet’s mother could only nod as an answer. She was still busy trying to wrap her head around everything that had happened.

“Young man,” Scarlet’s grandfather spoke up during the silence. “I sensed a rather strong usage of Time Dao earlier. I thought you said you were close to learning Time Dao but hadn’t learned it yet.”

“I haven’t learned it, but I can use it to a degree if I just use my Intent,” Alex said. “I should learn it soon though.”

“I see,” the Phoenix said. “And I must say, I have never seen anyone make a pill as fast as you have. Are the other humans just as good as you?”

“There are great Alchemists out there, but in terms of speed, perhaps not. Although, I can only speak to the capabilities of my own generation since I have not yet seen any of the older Alchemists make pills.”

The Phoenix nodded. “What you did was still incredible. I never expected the disciple of the Sword God to have such a talent in Alchemy as well,” he said with a boisterous laugh. “I had already made the decision to allow my granddaughter to keep the bond if she wished to, but now I might end up persuading her to keep it even if she decides to get rid of it.”

Scarlet’s mother took a deep breath and finally turned to Alex with a serious expression on her face.

“You have proven your worth, so I will allow you to keep your bond with my daughter,” she said. “Since you’ve come to meet her, follow us. We will take you there.”

Alex couldn’t help but smile in relief as he was finally allowed to enter the Vermilion Bird Palace. He could finally meet Scarlet.
