Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 2952: Back to the Palace

Chapter 2952: Back to the Palace

Alex and the group finally arrived back at the White Tiger’s Palace. Bai Mingwen left them at that point, so Alex and the other two were free to return to their temporary stay of their own accord.

Alex could feel both Pearl and Whisker nearby at the palace. It had been over two weeks since their arrival and he hadn’t met them yet since the welcome party, so he decided to head over.

He left his master and Battlesage and walked toward the palace.

The main palace had numerous palace guards standing around the door, and one of them stopped Alex before he could enter.

“Have you been invited?” one of the guards, a thin-necked zebra, asked.

“An invitation? I don’t have anything of that sort,” Alex said. “Do I need one to enter?”

“We’re afraid you do,” one of the other guards, a vulture with pink feather tips, said. “Otherwise, only the main family or palace guards are allowed to enter.”

Alex nodded and sent a message directly to Pearl through their bonds. “I can’t come visit you because I’m not allowed to enter on my own. I need you to come get me, or bring your grandpa if you can’t.”

“Okay!” Pearl said.

Alex waited for a few minutes and two more palace guards appeared. This time, it was a flower-spotted hyena and a red-lipped pangolin.

Their heads turned toward Alex the moment they arrived. “You can come in,” the pangolin said.

The other guards turned toward it.

The pangolin looked at them and said, “He has been invited by the new White Tiger, Bai Shouchuang.”

The other beasts seemed to finally understand.

Alex followed the pangolin into the palace, its words still stuck in his mind. ’Bai Shouchuang?’ he thought. He couldn’t imagine Pearl changing his name so easily.

They arrived at a golden doorway a few minutes later and the door opened.

Alex walked in to find Pearl sitting on a soft bed in the middle of the room. Whisker sat next to him, doing nothing at all either.

Alex looked around at the intricate craftsmanship made apparent around the room with the furniture and designs carved around the walls and ceilings.

“You finally returned, brother,” Pearl said. “I thought you would take a lot longer.”

“Yeah, it was faster than we thought,” Alex said and walked toward the two. “Is this your room? Or is this sort of a guest room?”

“It’s my room,” Pearl said. “There are other rooms attached there inside. You can use them from now on.”

“Okay,” Alex said. “I think I’ll stay at the other place for the next two weeks though. Until my maaster leaves at least,” he said.

“Oh, senior Bladedance is leaving? So her Immortal tribulation must’ve been successful,” Pearl said.

“It was,” Alex said. “I wonder if you felt it here, but she had to survive a Celestial realm attack. I should’ve taken you and Whisker. It was a sight to see.”

“Wow!” both Pearl and Whisker were surprised.

“So, what have you two been up to?” Alex asked.

Whisker hadn’t been doing anything at all that was worth explaining. Ever since he had arrived, besides the first day when they just celebrated, he had begun teaching Luo Beihan, Bai Jingshen’s 6th wife, all he knew about Alchemy.

What Alex had taught her before he left the lower realm had been quite helpful for her, but there were still things that she could learn, so Whisker had been an invaluable teacher for her during this time. And as such, he had spent most of his time with her.

Pearl explained his own situation, about how he met the patriarch and how there was now a trial that he must complete.

“When I did the bloodline test, everyone who was around here got a clear idea of just how strong my bloodline is. So now, there is a danger that they will come after me and take it away from me.”

Alex frowned upon hearing that. “They can do that? Is there no rule about stealing blood from another family member?”

“There is here, but the Fighting Island, where I will be sent off to, is lawless. Grandpa thinks that they will try and steal from me there. Worst of all, everyone somehow already knows it was me that did that. I’m worried we’ll have to face truly powerful individuals.”

Alex frowned. “Is your patriarch allowing it to happen?” he asked.

“Well… he’s not disallowing it. I don’t know what will happen just yet,” Pearl said. “But grandpa has told me not to worry. He will do something to help me.”

Alex couldn’t help but worry a little. “This isn’t the lower realm. Your grandfather isn’t exactly the strongest person around here who we can put all of our trust in to keep us safe.”

Pearl didn’t say anything. It was clear he understood as much.

Bai Jingshen, as powerful as he was, with his master being the Godkiller himself, was still just a new Divinity. Alex didn’t know much about his strength, but there would be dozens if not more that were stronger than him right now.

“Still, he is the only one we can trust,” Pearl said. “And I plan to.”

Alex said nothing.

The door opened just then, and Bai Jingshen walked in. “I heard the tail end of that conversation just now. What is it about you guys having no trust in me?”

“Nothing, grandpa. We were just talking,” Pearl said.

Alex bowed slightly in greeting. “I was just saying that we have to be more careful here than we were down in the lower realm. I know you are strong, brother Shen, but in this place, we still have to be wary.” This text is hosted at NoveIꜰire.net

“That you do,” Bai Jingshen said. “Even if I was the patriarch, I couldn’t stop what is going to happen from happening. So, I have come up with a simple measure to stop all of it from potentially happening.

Alex and Pearl waited for him to speak.

Bai Jingshen shrugged. “I will go to the Fighting Island with Pearl.”
