Chapter 2922: Unknown
Chapter 2922: Unknown
Alex checked through each ingredient at least 3 times in order to make sure he wasn’t going mad. He checked through the leaves, the roots, the barks, the flowers, and everything else that was around him, and yet he knew the name of not a single one of them.
“How… how can this be?” Alex thought.
The possibility of this happening was there. It had always been there in the back of his mind ever since he became an Immortal and learned about the White Canvas flower that he didn’t immediately recognize.
But he had yet to find another such ingredient in all the time, and part of that was in an alchemy competition. So Alex could be reasonably certain that he was likely not going to find another ingredient that the Alchemy God did not know about.
And yet, there it was, right in front of him.
Not just one, but more than a dozen.
“What is going on?”
He had no doubt gathered these ingredients from whatever place he had been to because he knew he did not recognize them. Had he studied them back then, or did he know he would forget it all so he left it for himself to study later?
“How can there be ingredients I don’t know about though,” Alex thought. “Did the Alchemy God’s knowledge not contain these all?”
If the Alchemy God had been alive some 200 thousand years ago and he had prepared his inheritance back then, then any plants that came to be after that time would have information missing from his mind.
But that was not the case. He knew every single plant out there, except for these few.
In which case, Alex could only think of two possibilities.
First, the Alchemy God’s inheritance was capable of adding on more information to itself as time went on, which had stopped after Alex gained it. These few ingredients must’ve then grown after that time.
But that was too far-fetched a possibility for Alex to consider true. If it was true, then there still should have been more plants out there he didn’t know about.
But there weren’t, so the first possibility was out of the question.
Which left him with the second possibility, which was that the ingredients he gathered from whatever place he had been to were never before seen by the Alchemy God.
The Alchemy God should not have ever been to that place, which was why there were ingredients that he didn’t know about.
“But wait, the Alchemy God did know there were ingredients he didn’t know about,” Alex thought. “The White Canvas Daisy was something that had information missing, which means he wanted to let me know that he didn’t have all the information.”
Alex frowned. “Does that mean he went where I went too?” he thought. It was so difficult to think about.
“And wait, it has been 200 thousand years since he died, so why are there no other new ingredients out there? How come in all the lands I’ve been to, the plants have been stagnant with no evolution?”
Did plants not change whatsoever even with time’s passing?
The simple possibility made Alex’s head churn with countless thoughts. ’What’s going on? Why aren’t there ingredients I don’t know about everywhere?’
There was only one answer Alex could think of, but then he wasn’t sure if it was an answer or not.
“Heaven?” he thought.
Could assigning every single confusing thing about this world, every single impossibility, to Heaven be the right answer?
The air stuck around the world because of Heaven. The gravity worked straight downward in every location on the flat plane because of Heaven. And now plants didn’t evolve, because of Heaven.
Alex was left scratching his head, unsure of what exactly was going on.
He spent some time going through the ingredients to try and learn what they were capable of. To his disappointment, there was not a single ingredient there that could be considered amazing.
Each one could easily be replaced by something that already existed and was perhaps even more common.
Alex was disappointed, but that didn’t matter since the surprise of unknown ingredients was enough for him for now.
Alex put the ingredients back where they were and roamed the rest of the Soul Space, searching for what else he could find. Alex found the Blood God’s Manual first, but right next to it, he found the other thing that had been roaming across his mind since the time he found it back in the Void.
One of the three treasures of the Alchemy God.
The Book of Boundless Healing.
Alex took the red book out with its intricate patterns on the surface and an emerald ’plus’ sign embossed on the center. He flipped the book open and saw again the incredibly thin pages with text spread across it in a font the size of mites.
Even as he tried to read it, his focus waned with questions and confusion regarding the book, which he needed answers to as soon as he could. So, he immediately sent his senses into his Soul Space again.
His mind directly entered the Demon realm this time, which had been taken care of by Whisker all this time, so there was no reason for him to worry.
He couldn’t yet check on the two plants just yet without Whisker’s presence, but there was no hurry to deal with either of them.
Alex found the older Alex and Emily immediately. The two had long since reached the peak of the Organ Tempering realm and could not further move into the Meridian realm. As a result, they had long since reached the peak of cultivation.
Thankfully, the improvement to their physical strength placed them at the strength of an Immortal, and the longevity of one as well.
Still, Alex knew he needed to help them more. He had already successfully done it once, so he needed to give these two their own spirit roots as well.
But that was for later. He had other things to focus on right now.
