Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 2565 - 2565: A Decision is Made

None of the gods were certain what they were supposed to make of the situation. None of them really understood what was happening. Only Starsight alone had seen the truth, so they were going by her words.

“The world is doomed either way, and somehow this young man is the catalyst whether he lives or dies,” the Winter God said softly. “Then, I fear there might be just one path forward.”

The Storm God nodded. “The child cannot die, but he also cannot be allowed to influence anything in this world.”

“What if we cripple him but let him live?” the Sword God asked.

“He cannot be crippled,” the Storm God said. “With the Undying physique, he can never be crippled at all.”

“What about the mind?” the Beast God asked. “What if we just get rid of his soul and allow someone else to take over?”

“Anyone want to go into a body where the Godslayer presides?” the Storm God asked.

None of the gods were willing to make the sacrifice, and since a weaker person would die to the Godslayer one day, they would simply be giving that body over to Godslayer.

“That won’t work,” Starsight said. “The death of the soul is the death of the young man. It will lead to the same result.”

“There are two paths ahead of us,” the Storm God said. “One where he continues to live and leads us to destruction. One where he dies, and the world goes into destruction partially because of his death. Then, our only path forward must be one where he does not die, but one where his effect on the world is the same as if he is dead.”

“We must imprison him,” the Puppet God said. “Send him to the deepest hole that no man can find, and keep him there forever.”

The Storm God mused on the idea for a moment before shaking his head. “We cannot kill him, yes, but we cannot let him live either. If you are working hard to keep him alive, then you are trying to make our future apocalypse become a reality.”

The Puppet God took back her words. The Storm God was right.

The young man couldn’t die, and yet he couldn’t live either.

“What a conundrum,” the Formation God said. “How do we get out of this?”

As the gods began chatting among themselves, the Sword God began desperately to think of a solution to all of this. He couldn’t kill Alex now, not after what they had all heard, but surely there was something he could still do.

As his mind went through myriad thoughts, his eyes landed on Starsight, who stared back at him. There was a sense of astonishment in her eyes at that moment.

As if she had seen something surprising.

As if… she had seen a divination come real once again.

The Sword God paused, remembering the woman’s divination from last month. There was one thing that hadn’t come true from what she had said back then.

The moment he thought back to it, the idea of what needed to be done came to him.

The Sword God reached into his Soul Space and brought out a talisman. He stared at the talisman, realizing this was the only way forward. He looked toward Starsight, whose eyes were widened.

This was it. This was what he needed to do.

Of the many distorted visions of the future Starsight had seen, this one was a guarantee. This was always meant to happen.

The Sword God stood at the precipice of something important and spoke, “I know what we can do. How we can let him live and kill him at the same time. How we can entirely remove him from influencing the future in any way.”

The group of gods turned to him, looking at the talisman he held.

“What is that?” the Storm God asked.

“An Interrealm Teleportation Talisman,” the Sword God said.

“…to where?”

The Sword God looked at all of the gods one by one as he told them the destination he wished to send the young man to.

“Hell.”

The words caused the many gods to immediately stiffen. A few of them turned toward the Storm God and Winter God to see their reaction.

“Why do you have a talisman to Hell?” the Storm God said. “You should know it is forbidden.”

“I merely have it,” the Sword God said, slightly afraid. “I never intended to use it before, but since the situation calls for it, I cannot think of a better place.”

“My master got out of Hell,” the War God said. “He may too.”

“Your master was a special case,” the Sword God explained. “He had to enter the Celestial Realm to get out of Hell. Without the resources for it, it will be impossible for the young man to reach such a realm.”

“Then it can work, right?” the Sword God asked.

The Storm God thought for a long time and nodded. “It can work,” he said. “I believe it is the only way possible.”

“Then should we do it?” the Sword God asked excitedly.

“That is not for me to decide,” he said and looked at not just the gods but the other reverends and sages too. “Send a representative for each of the 31 gods available here. We will put it up to a vote with everyone else.”

With the Storm God’s words, 31 different people gathered next to Alex, each belonging to one of the many cults. The Storm God explained the situation as well as he could. Once he was done, he asked for a show of hands.

“Everyone who is against sending this young man to Hell, raise your hands.”

Three hands were raised. The Alchemy God, the Artifact God, and the Weapons God were against it.

“Everyone who is for sending this young man to Hell?”

The remaining 28 hands were raised at once.

The decision was nearly unanimous. Alex was going to be sent to Hell.
