Chapter 2415: Clash Of Venerables II [51]

-----

BOOOMMM!!!

The Soul Construct instantly lost a huge chunk of its mass, yet it still refused to die. The dragons roared, protected by the shimmering layer of their Soul Unification, and leaped onto Héluna with everything they had.

Their Archetypes erupted from their Auras. Each dragon summoned their powerful Archetype Weapons and unleashed their signature skills.

"Hmph!"

The Venerable reacted instantly. She materialized a pair of long swords forged from pure Moonlight Energy, each blade decorated with tiny twinkling stars.

"Come, Heavenly Smith!"

Surtr struck first. His Heavenly Smith Archetype surged from his Aura—the same name as his Unique Skill, born from his burning desire to fix things and help others however he could. Flames shaped themselves into dozens of blazing swords that chased Héluna relentlessly. She dodged and sliced through them with graceful precision, only for the swords to explode directly in her face.

The blasts were devastating, but the Venerable was far tougher than she appeared. She tanked every explosion and charged straight at Surtr. Her Aura flared, and dozens of stars materialized, bombarding his body with devastating force at her mere thought.

As Surtr was pushed back, Hydra and Celene appeared on Héluna’s left and right. Hydra summoned dozens of spectral clones that attacked with divine phantom flames and shadowy death spirit projectiles, steadily chipping away at her barrier. Celene, meanwhile, absorbed the star shower with her moonlight mirrors and reflected it straight back into the Venerable’s face.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

"Nnngh, annoying!"

Héluna refused to fall. Despite her weakening barrier, she was terrifyingly strong. She moved like a storm, her delicate appearance deceiving everyone into underestimating her power.

She swung one slender hand forward and slapped Celene with enough force to shatter scales and bones alike. Celene coughed blood and plummeted from the sky.

"Celene!"

Hydra faltered for a split second. His clones rushed to catch her, but Héluna was already upon him. She drove both heels into his face, sharp stilettos piercing his eyes. Hydra roared through his remaining heads and unleashed soul-burning breath attacks at point-blank range, finally shattering her barrier and striking true.

BOOOMMM!!!

Héluna sliced half the beams apart with her swords and tanked the rest. Her Soul Gear was of the highest Venerable Rank quality. With a single palm strike, she crushed Hydra’s chest, destroyed his heart, and shattered his ribs. Blood poured from every head as he fell.

The assault never paused. Surtr returned alongside Emerald. The wind dragon activated his Stormborn Berserk Archetype, fusing Celestial Winds with his Demonic Alter Ego and Chaos Spirits. Golden Celestial Winds merged with Surtr’s Golden Origin Flames, forming a massive swirling tornado of fire that erupted beneath Héluna.

BOOOM!

RUMBLE!

The sky shook. The surrounding castle exploded, burned, and vaporized in the blast. Héluna’s skin blistered as she groaned in pain. She answered with both swords, diving straight at Emerald’s enormous Storm Axe and Surtr’s Blazing Sword. Explosions of cutting winds and flames erupted with every clash.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

Héluna was faster, stronger, and frighteningly clever. She read their movements in an instant, predicting, dodging, parrying, and overwhelming two colossal dragons with her slender elven frame.

"You are at least a million years too early to challenge me, young dragons!"

Her aura exploded. Millions of stars bombarded Surtr and Emerald, covering them in bleeding wounds and sending them crashing down like fallen meteors.

Her eyes widened as two more figures descended from above—Amethyst and Triton, their Archetypes blazing at full power.

Amethyst’s Celestial Avenger and Triton’s Soulforged Ultramarine coursed through their bodies. Triton gripped his trident, Amethyst her golden crystal blade, and together they unleashed a barrage of piercing techniques.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Each strike carried explosions of holy light or pressurized divine water, ice, and stone. Héluna’s skin tore open under the relentless assault, frustration flashing across her face.

"Begone!"

With a roar, she released a shockwave of pure force. A gigantic moon materialized above her head and fired beams of silver light that burned the dragons as they fell. Yet Amethyst and Triton spun midair and charged back, refusing to stay down.

"Hm?! You’re tougher than the rest... or something else entirely!"

Héluna quickly realized these two were different. Amethyst dissolved into pure light, blitzing around her faster than eyes could follow. Triton’s body shattered into fragments, revealing an ethereal, muscular dragon form overflowing with raw Soul Essence—precious energy that should never be wasted, yet he seemed made of it.

"RAAAAHHHH!"

Triton went berserk, hammering her with explosive fist strikes that drove her backward. Amethyst zigzagged through the chaos, slashing Héluna’s body again and again.

BAAM! BAAM! BAAM!

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

Their flawless teamwork overwhelmed the Venerable for precious seconds, buying everyone else time. Root healed the fallen dragons, and they charged back with renewed fury.

"Emerald, let’s do it again—I can feel it!"

"Yeah, Surtr! A Synthesis Skill!"

Synthesis Skills were unique to Archetypes, allowing users to combine powers for something far greater.

Emerald and Surtr roared. Their Archetypes fused, flames and winds spiraling together.

"{Celestial Blazing Windstorm Vortex}!"

RUMBLE!

Héluna saw it coming but couldn’t escape—Amethyst and Triton held her in place. The vortex struck full force, slicing and burning her skin with countless flaming winds.

"Nnngggh! Dragons, you truly infuriate me!"

Her Aura detonated. Dozens of moons materialized and began orbiting her at blinding speed, growing larger while stars swirled around them, forming a vast nebula-like Domain.

"{Eclipsing Moon Cycle Nebula}!"

RUMBLE!

The moons smashed anything that approached, hurling Surtr and Emerald away and battering them relentlessly. Amethyst and Triton suffered the same fate—the sheer mass and speed of the celestial bodies were overwhelming.

"I may lack your flashy Archetypes, but my true body dwarfs all of yours combined!"

Root roared from below. His colossal wooden form emerged fully from his Divine Realm, merging back with his skeletal frame now that no decaying power weakened him. Every branch glowed golden, expanding into a titanic mass of living wood.

Roots and branches wrapped around the moons, crushing and exploding them from within. Wood burned and turned to ash; yet more grew endlessly in its place.

"A dragon made of wood?! Nature dragons aren’t like this! What are you?!"

"I am Yggdrasil’s chosen!"

Root clashed with Héluna, sharp wooden claws—reinforced beneath by metallic bone—slashing through her aura and barrier. Wooden spears pierced her from every direction.

"Héluna, you have grown into a beautiful woman. It’s a pity my brother has brainwashed you."

"W-What?! You...! You know me?!"

"I do."

Root pressed the attack while speaking, bony claws slashing and piercing. Héluna countered with her blades, slicing through his bone fingers one by one, grinding them down with furious precision.

"That’s impossible! No one from that era should still be alive! You’re lying!"

"I am not lying. Oberon must never be revived! He is a monster who will destroy this world!"

"Master is no monster! He is a messiah, the herald of true chaos, the king of entropy—the one who will bless us all with his dream!"

"What are you talking about?! That’s madness!"

"It’s not madness! We share a dream! He never brainwashed me—he simply opened my eyes to the truth. Of this world, of this fantasy! Nothing holds value. Everything is meaningless before the truth!"

"What are you even saying?! You’ve lost your mind!"

Root dodged several lethal strikes, his endless wood shielding him as the other dragons returned healed and furious.

Surtr struck from above, his blazing sword piercing her barrier. Emerald’s axe cleaved through aura and soul with a storming blow. Amethyst slashed across her body in blinding flashes. Triton blasted her backward with a massive explosion of pure Soul Essence.

Hydra’s spectral flames burned her soul and weakened her Soul Gear while cursing her movements. Celene tanked her deadly magic and reflected it endlessly. Hrimvaldr assaulted her with light and darkness in perfect harmony. Hermes, fueled by Alma’s boundless Mana, teleported allies out of danger and back into the fight, his eyes glowing bright blue as Root’s fragment healed the strain on his body and mind.

The dragons fought as one.
