Chapter 2222: Fighting The Horde 4

-----

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

Jake’s body rapidly transformed, reacting to any threat. When another burly, muscular mutant tried to strike him from behind, the back of his body grew large bony armor with several plates, protecting him from the damage by dispersing the kinetic force outward as steam was released from orifices.

His body was more than just human. Jake was a "perfected form" of Ivan’s creation, and right now, his body had only become stronger and tougher with the blessings stacked on him.

"HAH!"

He leaped into midair, slashing the beast’s head and then the rest of its body with a single swing of his giant claws, tearing the creature into two halves.

SLAAASH!

"Ah!"

He was shocked by his strength. Back then, he wouldn’t have been able to do this much damage without creating a larger mutation in his arms.

But now, that wasn’t even necessary.

"ROOOAARR!"

Three more large mutants rushed toward him, burly and muscular, with several arms and sharp bony claws, opening their jaws to spray acid on his body.

"..."

However, Jake rapidly dodged their attacks, moving at lightning speed with his superhuman agility, and appeared behind one of them. His right hand turned into a long bony spear, impaling the beast several times through its body.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

Then, as the beast fell in agony, Jake’s other hand transformed into a fleshy cannon, charging massive quantities of pure warmth and energy, firing a bony bullet that exploded into crimson, flammable blood, burning the monster in agony.

BOOOM!

"Huh? Since when we could do that?"

He was shocked, looking at his own cannon-hand, made of modified and mutated bones and flesh, as an eye looked at him, and then a mouth appeared.

"Stronger... now..."

It was Uroboros, or rather, the child of the original parasite strand created within Ivan’s body. It sometimes spoke to him, like a child living within his own body, learning at the same pace as he did.

"I see, we’re stronger then."

Jake never felt completely alone, as he had this child within him, his "brother" and his only "friend" before he met Chris and Lucia.

"ROOAARR!"

The other mutants attacked Jake, swinging their massive fists against him with powerful blows, nearly cracking the floor while doing so. However, Jake quickly dodged one of them, while the other was tanked. His hand turned gigantic, growing bony plates, resisting the blow and forming a fist, punching the monster in the face and blowing away half of its body.

BOOOM!

Explosions of blazing blood erupted from orifices within his giant bony hand, making his punches even more potent and powerful. It was as if his own body was a complete mechanism of its own, almost like Kate’s adaptable machinery, but even stronger and also alive, all of it flesh, muscles, bones, and blood.

"GRYAAAARR?!"

The other mutant glared at Jake with confusion and fear, stepping back, as it somewhat recognized him as a "superior species" because he also carried the virus and the parasite within his body.

"..."

Jake looked at the creature for a moment but then quickly leaped forward, disappearing and reappearing above the monster, moving so fast the mutant couldn’t see him.

"Sorry, but I have no mercy."

SLAAASH!

His giant blade arm sliced through the beast, flammable blood combusting the entire thing into flames, agonizing cries echoing everywhere.

"Heheh, not bad at all! I guess I underestimated these guys, they’re all pretty damn strong!"

Drake nodded while rubbing his chin. He was very pleased with what he had seen so far. The strength that the trio from Earth showcased was the real deal. The blessings stacked on them helped them reach a much higher level of power, but most of what they showcased was already their own arsenal of abilities.

"Yeah, Chris Bluefield has always been a damn beast," Alma nodded. "And that Esper woman... I think I remember seeing her before I died... she’s as hot as I remember her. Has it really just been a month back on Earth since I died? How is that even possible?"

"No idea, but I think I reincarnated a while ago myself," Drake said. "According to my parents, after my mother laid my egg, I incubated inside of it for a couple hundred years. And it makes sense. I died way before you guys did."

"So there’s an insane time dilation in this world, everything goes so much faster..." Alma said, looking at the sky. "But now that the worlds are merging or something, I guess that dilation is gone."

"Yeah, it is. I can tell that the Time Flow between the worlds is now being shared," Drake said. "Just as their Spatial Membranes are."

"Time Flow, Spatial Membranes... are they related to the Dimensional Pillars you talked about?" Alma wondered.

"They’re the same," Drake said. "A Dimensional Pillar is the combination of Time Flow and Spatial Membranes that holds a ’world’ like Yggdrasil or Zipangu within. Think of it all like a basket. A straw basket."

"Huh?" Alma was confused.

"Imagine a basket," Drake said, manifesting a straw basket in his hand using the power of Creation. "And now all of what our world is inside of it is this basketball." He created it instantly and slowly increased the basketball’s internal mass and weight until...

CRACK!

"When a world gets too heavy with ’errors’ or distortions, the basket can break, as you can see," Drake said. "So what happened is that it just so happened that there were two or rather three other baskets beneath, and they all..."

Drake quickly placed the baskets over one another.

"They stacked their own Dimensional Pillars into a single, stronger one, helping the worlds survive," Drake explained. "However, there’s the problem that because they’re so stacked, the worlds beneath get squished through and reach the first basket and the world inside, and this is what we’re seeing right now."

"Wow, okay, that was a pretty good analogy, I get it now," Alma nodded.
