Chapter 2044 - 2044: Time For Some Rest
—–
“Logi, nothing will happen to the babies, right?!”
Surtr glared at Logi with a furious, draconic stare.
Even the Primordial God of Fire and Space began sweating small fireballs off his blazing body.
“H-Hahaha, relax, relax, young man! They will be alright. I made sure they wouldn’t be negatively affected.”
“Hah… Okay. I’ll believe your words.”
“In fact… They might be born even stronger!”
“What?”
Aegir squinted, as she glared at her stupid brother.
“What did you do now?!” She asked angrily.
“W-What with that attitude?! Relax a bit, will you? It’s nothing bad! I swear.” Logi facepalmed. “The power they gained. I made sure a part of it would be infused into the kids, a little gift from me, Fire Dragon King Surtr. Just my goodwill and wishes, after all, those two little children are going to be the first Fire Dragons born after a long time.”
“So they will keep some of that power, huh? That’s… I hope it works, and if it does, then I’ll be really grateful,” Surtr said, nodding. “Thank you, Lord Logi… But if it fails and something bad happens, I’ll kill you, Lord Logi.”
While saying this, Surtr smiled calmly, making Logi rethink his decisions for a moment.
“T-The last fire dragon is sure eccentric, huh?” Logi sighed.
“You’re the idiot that provoked him!” Aegir said.
“I just did something nice for him! Doe she has to threaten my life?!” The Fire God cried.
POOF!
As this happened, both gods ended falling to the ground, as Leona also returned to normal, her appearance having temporarily returned to a younger age, almost the same as her little brother.
“Haaah… I’m tired… I’m sorry… Lord Logi… Lady Aegir…”
“It’s alright, you did well.”
Surtr also granted her a ward, bringing all of his exhausted family along with him, making them float in midair with his Aura.
“Let’s return to Drake’s Divine Realm for now, I am sure Master can help me hasten your recovery.” As Surtr started walking back to Drake, Logi and Aegir followed him.
However, as he walked towards Drake, who had already reached the ground, he looked at his hand, as a pure red and white flame emerged.
These flames seemed to warp space around them, so strong they were, it even felt like they could shatter space and made time itself slow down around them…
This was the pinnacle of his power, which he had achieved as he battled Pandemonium.
{Final Flame of Annihilation}
Although Surtr was proud of the strength he had achieved, he was also scared he could not control it properly.
The flames quickly disappeared, as he sighed.
“These flames are too dangerous… I need to train it well before I could ever dare to use it again.”
…
BAAAM!
A gigantic bat descended into the ground, as she suddenly turned into a sea of blood, splashing everywhere, reduced to a small red-haired girl, sighing in relief.
“Haaah… Haaah… Ugh…”
The mechanical armor around her had also disappeared, as those that composed it, Hector, Kraxka, Larzak, Rakasha, and Kate and Benladra’s robot appeared by her side.
“Ruby! Are you… are you alright? Haah… I’m exhausted…”
Rakasha slowly walked towards Ruby, as the girl sat down over the bloodstained floor. Her appearance had changed, as she looked a bit older now, no longer like a teen, but like a young adult woman now.
She had a pair of long, bat-like wings emerging from behind her shoulders, and her ears had also become fluffy and fuzzy, bat-like in form and shape.
It seemed that this new being she could transform into wasn’t just a transformation alone, her entire being had evolved.
“Y-Yeah, I’m alright… Thank you, uncle.”
Rakasha sighed in relief, patting her shoulders.
“And… what happened to her?”
“To mom…?”
Ruby looked at the ground, still trying to think, to remember…
“I… I don’t know… But she’s not here…”
She looked around, feeling slightly desperate.
“Mom? Are… are you somewhere? Mom?”
As she looked around, trying to hold back her tears.
There was only silence…
“N-No…”
Ruby started crying, as tears fell from her eyes.
“Mom… Mom…!”
Rakasha held his tears, as he hugged Ruby, without letting go of her while she cried, screaming.
He didn’t know what else to say anymore, so Rakasha remained silent.
“So Ruby’s mom…” Hector muttered, gritting his teeth. “Damn it! I thought she did something to save her… What happened?”
“Something else must have happened within her soul…” Kraxka said. “Ruby seems different as well, as if she and her mother had become one…”
“I don’t think she’s gone, her mother… She simply is within her,” Larzak said. “Her soul too, became part of her strength.”
“…” Miranda glanced at the scene through her clone body. “Haah… I think Drake could help out, he always can do something crazy to help, right girls?”
“Yeah… Papa can solve this,” Benladra nodded.
“Ruby, let’s go back to papa,” Kate’s voice echoed through the robot. “I think he might know how to help.”
“E-Eh? Drake…” Ruby muttered. “But… I don’t want to rely on him for everything, asking for Drake to solve all our problems… It’s wrong…”
“…I know, Ruby,” Rakasha sighed. “But he’s no stronger either, he’s also part of our family, right? No, you’re part of his family…”
“…” Ruby sighed, slowly standing up. “I… I’ll try.”
The group started walking towards Drake as well, with Ruby and Rakasha’s eyes filled with a slight amount of hope, it was faint, but still there.
…
“So it’s done, huh? About freaking time.”
Yuki looked at Drake descending into the ground, sighing in relief, the hammer she created using her divine spirit’s powers quickly disappeared, as she returned to normal.
“Man, I’m exhausted…”
As she sighed in relief, she looked at Tisha and Pekora, who had also returned to normal, their fused draconic form was very exhausting as well.
“Yuki… How do you feel?” Pekora wondered, as she was healing herself and Tisha.
“Ah! I’m alright,” Yuki said with a smile. “Are you girls fine? That transformation’s strong but…”
“We’re fine, we just need some good rest, that is all,” Tisha smiled, the tall Ice Elf Warrioress had gone through harshest things anyway. “I feel… slightly disappointed on myself, however. I have only helped so little. I wish I could’ve made a bigger difference…”
