Shu Kaiqi stood up, put away the stethoscope and other items, placed them into the medical box he brought, then glanced once more at Mu Tiantian who was still slumbering on the bed. Carrying the medical box, his sharp gaze briefly rested on Shen Tiancheng before he turned and walked out.

In the bedroom, only Shen Tiancheng and the unconscious Mu Tiantian remained.

Shen Tiancheng was still bare-chested, with two distinct fingerprints on his chest; because his skin was very fair, the area around the fingerprints was slightly red and swollen at the moment.

His enigmatic gaze fell upon the bed, where Shen Tiancheng watched the deeply sleeping Mu Tiantian, his lips curling into a faint smile.

"Not knowing anything might be the best!"

It was uncertain whether these words were spoken to himself or truly meant for Mu Tiantian.

After speaking, Shen Tiancheng turned and entered the bathroom.

——

Mu Tiantian awoke at five thirty the following morning.

Beside her, the calendar marked with the word "New Year’s Eve."

It’s New Year’s!

Mu Tiantian smiled gently, seemingly forgetting her whereabouts, her eyes sparkling brightly, even carrying a touch of tenderness.

Her surroundings were warm, just like whenever Bai Chenyao was home in the mornings, and he would hold her, letting her lean against his chest.

When sleeping, she was very afraid of the cold, so even while asleep, she would instinctively snuggle closer to the heat source.

New Year’s Eve!

Mu Tiantian suddenly stiffened, wanting to push away the person beside her, yet found her body still soft and limp, just like characters in ancient novels who suffer from the effects of the Soft Bone Powder, devoid of strength.

"Awake?"

Shen Tiancheng’s voice was even lazier than usual, tinged heavily with sleepiness, with a hint of slurred intimacy, lacking his usual mischievous chill.

Mu Tiantian’s body tensed once more.

How could she forget? Before she passed out, she was in Shen Tiancheng’s bedroom.

She had mistakenly taken Shen Tiancheng for Bai Chenyao, how laughable!

Mu Tiantian was angry at herself for confusing the identity, and even more furious with Shen Tiancheng’s audacity, for he actually held her while sleeping.

What infuriated her more was Shen Tiancheng’s vile tactics of drugging her, robbing her of any strength.

"It’s still early, sleep a while longer!"

Shen Tiancheng spoke and then hugged Mu Tiantian even tighter, as if they were truly a couple, sleeping while holding her like this.

Mu Tiantian’s anger reached a boiling point, just as she was about to open her mouth to bite him, Shen Tiancheng’s muffled yet threatening tone sounded above her head.

"Little Sweetheart, do you know... a man most desires in the morning!"

Mu Tiantian instantly dared not move, let alone bite Shen Tiancheng.

In her current state, she had no strength to resist.

Reflecting on last night when she saw Shen Tiancheng stripping while walking towards her, and just as he was about to pounce, she felt her entire body tense, her blood rushing to her head, and she fainted.

She didn’t expect to faint at such a moment.

Even though she wasn’t inexperienced about *******, she knew that after fainting, Shen Tiancheng did not do anything to her.

However, the way Shen Tiancheng held her as if she were a pillow snug in his embrace, filled her with both anger and discomfort.

If she had not noticed that Shen Tiancheng was genuinely asleep, Mu Tiantian truly wouldn’t know how to face him.

Yet, two strangers lying together on the same bed far exceeded Mu Tiantian’s comfort zone, so upon waking, she remained tense, anxiously worried that Shen Tiancheng might suddenly behave irrationally, while battling her psychological barriers.
