Chapter 501 -330: Spatial Illusion Beast! Human, You Scratch My Itch, and I’ll Help You Obtain the Space Law
The statues blocking the path were instantly shattered into dust by the destructive aura emanating from her.
By the time she reached the spatial rift, all the statues in the room had been reduced to a pile of fine powder.
Then, Mare Rhine extended her Dragon Claws, pressing them against both sides of the rift.
At that moment, the scarlet Power of Destruction coated her palms, continuously battering the edges of the spatial rift.
In just a moment, the spatial rift could no longer withstand Mare Rhine’s Power, and an opening fifty centimeters wide was torn open.
The instant the spatial rift tore open, a longsword thrust out from within, aimed straight for Mare Rhine’s brow.
But before the sword could even touch Mare Rhine, it was incinerated into ash by her destructive aura.
“How is this possible?”
The enemy ambushing from within the spatial rift cried out in disbelief.
He could never have imagined that his Rare-quality weapon wouldn’t even be worthy of touching her!
This was also why Su Xuan had tacitly allowed Mare Rhine to destroy the spatial rift directly. After reactivating her [Dragon God Domain], Mare Rhine could do more than just grant Dragon Scale Armor to the Guild members.
It also enveloped Mare Rhine’s body in a domain brimming with destructive aura, though this field was limited to a circular area three meters in diameter, with her heart as its center.
But against sudden ambushes like this, it was incredibly effective!
And!
The destructive aura of the [Dragon God Domain] could destroy any weapon below Elite quality. If an enemy wanted to fight Mare Rhine head-on, they would first need a weapon that surpassed Elite quality!
However, the Domain was only effective against dangerous weapons or projectiles.
“You dare ambush me? You’re asking to die!”
Mare Rhine opened her mouth, instantly unleashing a searing torrent of Dragon Breath.
“Aaargh!”
With a pained scream, the enemy Guild member guarding the spatial rift was instantly incinerated.
“Well, that was quick and clean…”
Su Xuan couldn’t help but mutter at the sight.
He had planned on capturing the enemy to ask about the situation inside the spatial rift, but it seemed that was no longer an option.
“Human! We can go in now!”
Mare Rhine patted the two-meter-wide spatial rift she had torn open, showing off her handiwork.
“Well done.”
Su Xuan’s praise brought a proud smile to the Mother Dragon’s face.
She even shot a cryptic glance at Kanlutia, as if to show she was vying for his favor.
Su Xuan immediately issued his orders. “Rosaline, Kanlutia, and Alice, you three will remain outside as backup. The rest of you, with me.”
“As you command!”
“Yes, Master!”
“Let’s go.”
Su Xuan immediately led the designated members into the spatial rift.
When the group entered the spatial rift, the sight that greeted them left them staring in utter disbelief.
“Is this… the apparatus for the Space Magic ritual?” Su Xuan asked in confusion. The others had the same reaction.
For what lay within the spatial rift was not some ancient apparatus, but a bizarre living creature!
The creature had a plump, cylindrical body like a lizard’s, but it was covered in snow-white scales. A cockscomb-like crest grew from its head, its limbs were short, and its hands and feet were webbed like a duck’s.
At first glance, it looked similar to a salamander, but there were distinct differences.
It was over five meters long and was imprisoned inside a giant, transparent crystal sphere, apparently in a deep sleep.
“It… it seems to be dead…”
Viora, the most sensitive to Life Force, immediately realized the creature had been dead for a long time.
“Latias, the Dream Spirit of Space—guardian of the Divine Position of Space. To think it would meet such an end.” Even the Elf Queen, who had lived for ten thousand years, was astonished by the scene.
Who would have thought that the Illusion Beast guarding a Divine Position would end up as a vessel for a Space Magic ritual.
“Is no one here?”
Su Xuan’s attention lingered on the Spatial Illusion Beast for only a moment before he began to scan the surroundings.
But to his surprise, aside from the person Mare Rhine had obliterated at the entrance, there was no trace of anyone else.
He was puzzled. ‘How could such an important place be guarded by only one person?’
“Stay on your guard, everyone,” Su Xuan immediately ordered, wanting to prevent any surprises.
“Who’s there? Show yourself!”
Suddenly!
Mare Rhine sensed an anomaly in the surrounding space. White steam hissed from between her crimson Dragon Scales, and her small body shot forward in a flash of red light.
Her sharp Dragon Claw instantly shredded the camouflage, snagging an enemy hiding in a pocket of warped space.
She was about to tear the enemy to pieces when Su Xuan stopped her.
“Wait!”
“What for?”
Mare Rhine turned her head and looked at Su Xuan in confusion.
Her Dragon Claw was only a few centimeters from the enemy’s throat. A second later, and they would have been decapitated.
“I have some questions for them.”
Su Xuan said, walking over to Mare Rhine’s side.
The enemy Guild member Mare Rhine had captured was a female Imperial Guard from the Moon God Empire.
“Tell me, where are your Guild President and the other members?” Su Xuan demanded.
“You’ll get nothing from me!”
The woman gritted her teeth, ready to die to protect her Guild’s secrets.
Seeing her resolve, Su Xuan simply waved his hand, signaling Mare Rhine to proceed.
“You got it!”
With the order given, Mare Rhine’s sharp Dragon Claw pierced the woman’s neck. Bright red blood instantly began to gush out.
The searing pain made the woman scream. “It hurts! Mercy! I really don’t know what our President is thinking! He’s rushing back from the Beastman Kingdom right now! I’m begging you, don’t kill me!”
“Oh?”
Su Xuan was rather surprised by her instant surrender. He had expected her to hold out until she couldn’t bear the pain any longer.
But before she could finish speaking, there was a sudden CRACK!
Mare Rhine tore the woman’s head from her body. The gory sight made Su Xuan’s brow furrow, and he shot a confused look at Mare Rhine.
“Her neck was so fragile. It came right off with a single tug.”
Mare Rhine remarked, then tossed the head aside.
“…”
Su Xuan sighed at Mare Rhine’s behavior, rubbing the bridge of his nose. Still, at least he had gotten some useful information.
Just then, Tinas’s voice cut in. “The rest of the enemy Guild members might be over here.”
“Where?”
At her words, Su Xuan immediately looked toward the Elf Queen’s position. He saw several Adventurers imprisoned in a transparent container.
Their bodies were submerged in a strange pink liquid with only their heads exposed. The sight was utterly bizarre.
This container was connected to the Spatial Illusion Beast’s giant crystal sphere, meaning their Life Force was being used as fuel to activate the Space Magic ritual.
“How ruthless…”
As a Guild President himself, Su Xuan found it unimaginable that his counterpart would be willing to use his own Adventurers as fuel to supply the Magic Power for the Space Magic ritual.
What’s more, most of these Adventurers were around Level 60.
This meant the enemy Guild was at least B-Level, possibly even B+ Level.
“If we destroy this Spatial Illusion Beast, we should be able to stop the Undead Legion from entering the Elf Kingdom,” Su Xuan immediately said to the group.
Their entire purpose here was to destroy the Space Magic ritual and stop the Undead Legion from pouring endlessly into the Elf Kingdom.
“Destroy it? Why would we do that?”
Just then, Mira Orri’s voice suddenly rang out. “I can strip away its Space Law and make it your Power.”
“Are you sure?”
Hearing Mira Orri’s words, Su Xuan wore an expression of utter disbelief.
‘That’s Law Power… Mira Orri can actually strip away the Power of Law?’
“And why not? I am, after all, a Giant Dragon who once held a Divine Position. I’m at least capable of that,” Mira Orri said with a charming smile. “But I have one condition~”
“What condition?”
“As you know, my upper and lower body are in two separate spaces. So…” Mira Orri’s tone was one of earnest request. “Certain places are always so itchy… could I trouble you to help me out?”
