Chapter 264: Chapter 172: Legendary Vampire Petico, the Pope, and the Little Saintess
"You...?!"
Su Xuan’s eyes widened in astonishment, and he stared in disbelief at the unfamiliar woman currently biting down on his neck.
"Su Xuan!"
Lucia and the others rushed to help, but Su Xuan waved them off.
He could clearly feel the restless blood that had been surging within him begin to calm down.
What was even stranger was that he felt no discomfort at all!
The woman’s fangs seemed to have some kind of numbing effect, and he could barely feel any pain.
At the same time, Su Xuan identified the woman. She was the Legendary-quality Vampire Adventurer from Xu Feiyan’s Guild.
"Haaa~"
The woman released her fangs from Su Xuan’s neck. She gently brushed her fingertips over the wound, then licked the blood that lingered on them.
She spoke slowly, asking in a soft voice, "How are you feeling now? Are you any better?"
"Yes, much better. Thank you," Su Xuan said, nodding his thanks.
After the woman had drunk his blood, Su Xuan truly felt his body become much lighter—an effect that surpassed even the previous Moonlight Ceremony.
"Petico, you’re drinking this man’s blood?" Suddenly, a girl with blue twin-tails appeared at the entrance of the Immortal Consort Guild’s hall. She looked surprised to see Petico drinking Su Xuan’s blood.
"His blood is... special. Besides, the President asked me to do this," Petico explained to the twin-tailed girl.
"Oh, so that’s why. You always keep your distance from men; I was starting to think you were afraid of them," the girl said with a mischievous smile, lightly touching a finger to her lips. "But if it’s an order from the President, I guess you do have to get over it."
"Lanlan, don’t say such strange things."
"..."
Su Xuan stood quietly to the side, listening to their conversation.
He finally understood why Petico had drunk his blood the moment they met. It was at Xu Feiyan’s request.
"Oh? You’re already here?"
Just then, as a Teleportation Gate flashed with light, Hong Lian and Azkman also walked into the Immortal Consort Guild’s hall.
Their arrival made Su Xuan realize that Xu Feiyan had taken the members of the Immortal Consort Guild out on a trip.
Including Hong Lian, Azkman, Petico, and the twin-tailed girl, Su Xuan had now met four members of the Immortal Consort Guild.
According to what Xu Feiyan had told him before, the Immortal Consort Guild’s main fighting force consisted of eight members.
He had also met Life Mage Kaelin and the Bright Church Court’s Saintess, Delorri, before. That meant there were still two members of the Immortal Consort Guild he had yet to meet.
This did, however, come as a bit of a surprise to Su Xuan.
He noticed something—were all the Adventurers in Xu Feiyan’s Guild female?
Just as this doubt crossed his mind, the Teleportation Array flared with a dazzling white light. Xu Feiyan appeared, gracefully leading four other Adventurers into the Immortal Consort Guild’s hall.
"You’re already here? I thought you would be a little later, so I took the girls out. My apologies for keeping you waiting," Xu Feiyan said with a smile, striding gracefully toward Su Xuan in her high heels.
Su Xuan shook his head, his gaze naturally shifting to the four Adventurers behind Xu Feiyan.
The other two Adventurers, whom he hadn’t met, looked similar and both had cat ears. Were they twins?
Cat-girls?
Pretty cute, though!
"I’m going to put some things away. Please, have a seat,"
Xu Feiyan said, then turned and walked into an inner chamber.
Su Xuan nodded and sat on the plush sofa.
Lucia and the others sat down next to him, while the members of the Immortal Consort Guild sat opposite. The two groups’ gazes met across the room.
The moment they were seated, the members of the Immortal Consort Guild began to murmur among themselves. The cat-girl twins huddled together, whispering and occasionally stealing glances at Viora, who sat beside Su Xuan. They were clearly intrigued by her.
Meanwhile, the Bright Church Court’s Saintess, Delorri, was acting strangely. Her gaze kept darting away, as if she didn’t dare make eye contact with anyone in Su Xuan’s group.
This confused Su Xuan, and he couldn’t help but turn to look at Lucia beside him.
Lucia sat quietly beside Su Xuan, a white veil lightly obscuring her golden-red eyes and lending her an aloof, mysterious air.
Noticing his gaze, she asked softly, "What is it?"
"Nothing," Su Xuan said, gently shaking his head and looking away.
He didn’t know much about the Bright Church Court’s system for Saintesses, so he was unsure if there was a hierarchy among them.
However, observing the demeanor and bearing of the two Saintesses, Lucia and Delorri, he reached a preliminary conclusion: Lucia’s status was higher than Delorri’s.
"Please have some tea."
Just then, Kaelin, the Life Mage, came over and served tea to Su Xuan and his companions.
"Thank you."
Su Xuan thanked her politely and picked up his teacup.
A rich aroma of green tea assailed his senses, mingled with a potent aura of life that was instantly refreshing.
[Life Green Tea (Rare): Upon consumption, gain a 50% life recovery bonus!]
However, just as Su Xuan was about to savor the precious green tea, Mare Rhine, who was sitting beside him, suddenly cried out in complaint, "Dammit! This is the stench of that Mother Dragon! Take it away! Take it away!"
She pushed the teacup away with a look of utter disgust, clearly uncomfortable with the potent aura of Life Force.
With a sigh of resignation, Su Xuan took Mare Rhine’s cup of green tea for himself.
Mare Rhine always showed an irrepressible, profound loathing for anything related to the Dragon of Life.
Su Xuan took a light sip. The rich aroma of the tea instantly filled his mouth, like the essence of spring dancing on his tongue.
Then, a faint green light enveloped his body, bringing with it an indescribable sense of comfort.
"This is good tea."
Su Xuan put down his cup, a satisfied smile on his face.
At that moment, Xu Feiyan emerged gracefully from the inner chamber.
She spoke to Su Xuan. "The high-risk Demon Cave expedition is scheduled to begin in about an hour. At that time, I will activate the Teleportation Array to send the Adventurers from both our guilds to our respective battlefields."
She paused for a moment before continuing, "As for the specific deployment of our members, we’ll need to discuss the details. But this involves core secrets for each of our guilds. Therefore, before we talk, we need to sign a confidentiality contract to ensure the privacy and interests of both guilds are protected."
"Alright," Su Xuan agreed.
Xu Feiyan then led Su Xuan toward the inner chamber. "Please, follow me. There’s a suitable room inside where we can sign the contract."
"Mm."
As Su Xuan and Xu Feiyan stepped into the inner chamber, a tide of panic washed over Delorri. She rose to her feet uneasily, her eyes fixed on Lucia, who sat across from her. A storm of complex emotions churned within her.
Until yesterday, she never would have imagined that the impossibly noble Bright Pope would walk through the doors of an Adventurer’s Guild, just like her!
And as Delorri stared at Lucia, Lucia’s voice quietly echoed in her mind:
"Do not forget what I told you yesterday. Do you understand, Delorri?"
Upon hearing this, Delorri immediately lowered her head and replied respectfully in her mind, "Y-Yes! Pope!"
