Chapter 340 - 179: The Shocked Crowd, the Arena Tournament Begins

At this, Zhao Xi paused for a moment, then added as if she’d just remembered something, “However, if the day and night cycles are flipped, our factory’s production efficiency might decrease. I’ll formulate a plan right away to determine the daily output required to complete the orders on time!”

Li Chang’an nodded in satisfaction. “Good work. By the way, how has that girl Li Siying been doing lately?”

The two of them headed toward the Spiritual Fields as they talked…

「Time passed quickly.」

After Li Chang’an had finished inspecting all of Cangxuan City and taken some time to rest, a call came through from Su Ruobing. “The arena tournament is about to begin. I’ve secured your spot. The Flying Ship is parked at your door. Get on board, and be quick about it!”

After ending the call, Li Chang’an boarded the Flying Ship Su Ruobing had arranged for him, only to find her personal secretary, Wang Miao, already on board.

Seeing Wang Miao again after a year, Li Chang’an noticed she hadn’t changed much. She still wore a professional skirt suit and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses.

She had the distinct air of a corporate elite.

Wang Miao greeted Li Chang’an first. “City Lord Li, Chairman Su and the other competitors have already arrived at the capital of Xiangnan Province!”

Li Chang’an nodded.

The arena tournament for the Linjiang Prefecture region was being held in the provincial capital of Xiangnan Province.

Since Su Ruobing and the other competitors were already there, it meant he most likely wouldn’t have much time to prepare or build chemistry with the team.

However, Li Chang’an wasn’t too worried about it.

While building synergy was crucial for the team events, Li Chang’an believed that as long as one was powerful enough, such shortcomings wouldn’t be an issue.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, the Flying Ship set off, speeding toward the provincial capital.

In the capital of Xiangnan Province, the area in front of the massive office building that served as the Reincarnator Association’s provincial headquarters was already swarming with Reincarnators from every region of the province.

Su Ruobing, both a chairman and the leader of her region’s delegation, was in line with the chairmen from other Reincarnator Associations, waiting to submit the registration information for their participating Reincarnators.

Meanwhile, in the plaza not far behind her,

The other Reincarnators from the Linjiang Reincarnator Association looked distinctly uneasy.

One of them, a tall, tanned girl, stood with her arms crossed. She glanced over at Su Ruobing and complained under her breath, “What is Chairman Su thinking? The regional tournament is about to start, and she suddenly decides to swap out Tian Hualuo. We finally managed to build up a little synergy, and now this? Great. All those weeks of practice, completely wasted…”

Hearing her complaint,

The other competitors on the team nodded in agreement.

One of them whispered, “Even though that Tian Hualuo guy wasn’t the strongest among the Tier Six Reincarnators, he still had a few tricks up his sleeve. Replacing him so suddenly after all these days of practice… it’s definitely a sloppy move.”

Another person, who clearly knew Su Ruobing better, shook their head. “It’s not like we’ve only known Chairman Su for a day or two. She’s a notorious workaholic. If she decided to make a substitution at such a critical moment, she must have a good reason. The new replacement is probably even stronger than Tian Hualuo!”

Hearing this rebuttal, the other competitors glanced at each other. They had to admit it made some sense.

But the tanned girl from before clearly disagreed. “Even if the replacement is stronger, you don’t make a substitution right before a match! Just two days ago, Tian Hualuo and I worked out a few strategies for taking out key targets. I was planning to give the other teams a big surprise in the group matches. Now, with this sudden change, weren’t all my preparations for nothing?”

Her voice trailed off.

She turned, her gaze resentful, toward a figure standing quietly nearby, cradling a long spear. “Xiaowan, say something! Xiaowan! If we protest strongly enough, we might be able to convince the Chairman to bring Tian Hualuo back!”

The woman she called Xiaowan wore a fiery red dress and held a long spear with a matching crimson tassel. She was standing by herself a short distance away, resting with her eyes closed.

Hearing the tanned woman’s question,

Zhao Xiaowan opened her almond-shaped eyes slightly, sweeping her gaze over the other woman. She considered for a moment before speaking. “Tian Hualuo is, in fact, too weak. Honestly… in my view, you and him combined would barely count as one person.”

At these words, the corner of the tanned woman’s mouth twitched.

Revealing two sharp little canines, she snapped in exasperation, “What are you talking about? We’re about to enter the ring, and you’re trying to crush your own team’s morale?”

But Zhao Xiaowan’s expression was dead serious; she clearly wasn’t joking in the slightest.

The tanned woman sighed, a look of defeat on her face. “Forget it… I suppose you have a point. Chairman Su has probably given up on the Tier Six tournament entirely and just stuck some random person in our spot.”

Seeing her looking so dejected, as if she had completely lost her will to fight,

The other competitors from the Linjiang Reincarnator Association hurried to console her, all chiming in at once.

From the group of Tier Four Evolvers, a young man who looked to be in his mid-twenties spoke up. “Sister Xiaoyou, don’t worry! You have to trust Chairman Su’s arrangements!”
