Engagement Annulled? Now The Husbands Kneel and Beg for Her Favor

Chapter 476: 3 Beast Husbands Gathered Together

  • Next Chapter

An unfamiliar place. A dimly lit guest room. A narrow single bed.

On the bed sat a young lady in a slightly disheveled nightgown, clutching a terminal with a surprised look on her face. Beside her, his face flushed and his tail wagging, was the butler, just about to climb into bed...

And, standing opposite them with a grim expression, was her main husband.

No matter how you looked at it, it was a classic scene of being caught in the act.

If this were a mainstream drama from the Empire...

The plot would likely unfold with the main husband throwing a small tantrum and feeling heartbroken. But after a few sweet words from the female master, he would magnanimously accept the other man, grant him official status, and instruct him to help serve their female master. And then, a happy ending for all.

But clearly, Ye Linyuan was not the magnanimous, docile type.

The snake-like youth, his face cold, stalked toward them without a word.

His long, jet-black hair swayed with his movements, casting flickering shadows. Paired with the golden, vertical pupils fixed on them, he looked utterly menacing.

Jiang Qingli: "..."

’The domestic drama just turned into a horror movie.’

Yi Nuo stood up, blocking Ye Linyuan’s view of Jiang Qingli.

Ye Linyuan shot him a glance. "Move," he said coldly.

Yi Nuo didn’t budge an inch. "Mr. Ye, you have no right to order me around."

Ye Linyuan scoffed, his voice dripping with condescending disdain. "Do you have any right to speak here?"

Just as Jiang Qingli was about to interrupt them, a wave of energy rippled through the air beside her.

The two men, who had been on the verge of a fight, immediately snapped their heads in that direction.

The next second, a spatial rift tore open.

A tall figure was hurled out, rolled across the floor a few times, and passed out cold.

Before they could get a clear look at the person, a white-haired youth flipped out of the rift.

As luck would have it, he landed right on the edge of the bed beside Jiang Qingli.

As if it were the most natural thing in the world, Gu Nian wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer. He rested his chin in the crook of her neck, nuzzling her affectionately as he greeted her with a smile, "Sister, long time no see."

The move was obviously deliberate, yet the youth’s expression was so natural, his pink eyes crinkling with a smile, that he only seemed adorable.

Of course, the only person who found him adorable was Jiang Qingli.

The looks the other two males in the room gave him were murderous enough to eat him alive. Ye Linyuan let out a cold snort, disdainful of his fawning.

Jiang Qingli stroked Gu Nian’s chin. "What are you doing here?"

"I heard you were attacked, sister. I was worried."

News of the attack had been suppressed, but Gu Nian’s informants were everywhere, so he naturally found out quickly.

He spoke with a hint of resentment. "If I’d known, I wouldn’t have gone back. I should have stayed with you, sister. Those people can’t protect you properly."

’I must have lost my mind,’ he thought.

’To actually trust a good-for-nothing like Xie Youchen.’

’Seriously, how could I expect someone who can’t even fend off a sly fox to defend against our enemies?’

His cheek was pinched. Jiang Qingli said, "Alright, alright. I’m fine now, aren’t I?"

"I don’t believe you." Gu Nian took her hand and pressed it to his cheek. "I’ll have to check you over carefully later."

Jiang Qingli blinked and glanced at the person on the floor, the one Gu Nian had just thrown in. "Who is he?"

"Him? He was peeping outside, so I knocked him out. Probably one of their men." Gu Nian glanced over, his tone indifferent and disgusted. "A grown man was spying right outside, and no one even noticed. It’s a good thing I showed up, or the consequences would have been unthinkable..."

As he spoke, he looked at Ye Linyuan, his tone feigning concern. "Uncle Ye, it’s normal for your hearing to go when you get older. You don’t have to blame yourself too much."

Ye Linyuan’s eyes narrowed.

’The peeper appeared at the same time I did, and Yi Nuo discovered us both,’ he thought. ’I was going to send Yi Nuo out to deal with it, but I forgot this little bastard loves to swoop in and take credit for the smallest things.’

Gu Nian, of course, knew this. He was deliberately trying to piss Ye Linyuan off.

He continued, "But I did notice there’s a lot of medical staff here. Why don’t you go get checked out now? I’ll be here to take care of sister."

As he spoke, Gu Nian subtly tightened his arm.

Now, Jiang Qingli was almost completely nestled in his embrace, their bodies pressed together intimately.

Ye Linyuan’s expression grew even colder. "Are you done barking?"

A few wisps of black mist rose from beneath his feet, swirling around his ankles with deadly force.

Ye Linyuan’s patience had its limits.

He could tolerate their verbal sparring on a normal day, but now, with both of them here, he was thoroughly furious.

He decided to use the most common method among males—a duel—to shut this annoying rabbit up for good.

Gu Nian raised an eyebrow provocatively. "What, you want to fight?"

’That’s exactly what I was thinking.’

’I’ve been sick of this snake for a long time.’

’He’s just an old experiment that should have been scrapped ages ago. It’s his good fortune that sister is even willing to have him, yet he still dares to put on a sour face? I don’t mind helping the Jiang Family clean house and getting rid of this old, ugly piece of trash.’

The youth kept one arm hooked around Jiang Qingli’s waist while his other hand rested on the small of his back, holding his weapon, his spine tensing into a battle-ready arc.

In the cramped room, the murderous aura was overwhelming.

A hand waved between them. Jiang Qingli said helplessly, "You two... didn’t we agree you’d get along peacefully?"

Ye Linyuan stared at her, his expression clearly saying, ’We never agreed to that.’

Gu Nian, on the other hand, quickly retracted his hand, grabbing the one Jiang Qingli had raised to stop them. He rubbed his face against her palm like an obedient pet. "I’ll listen to whatever you say, sister~"

Jiang Qingli flicked Gu Nian’s cheek with her finger, and only then did he sit up straight and proper.

Jiang Qingli threw off the covers, got out of bed, and pointed to the person on the floor. "Yi Nuo, tie him up for now. Find a place to lock him up, and have Chen Mi interrogate him in the morning."

"Yes."

Yi Nuo efficiently tied the man up, pried open his mouth to check for any hidden poison, and, once he was sure it was clear, dragged him out.

Before closing the door, the Gray Wolf Butler’s gaze lingered on the bed for a few seconds, a flicker of regret flashing in his eyes.

Gu Nian glanced at the other thin blanket on the bed, a cold sneer in his eyes.

’This is why I say Xie Youchen is useless—he can’t even control his own subordinates when they try to climb into their master’s bed.’

’But now that I’m here, those people outside can forget about even dreaming of climbing up here.’

Gu Nian yawned, sleepiness welling up in his pink eyes.

As expected, his action caught Jiang Qingli’s attention. "Sleepy?"

"If you’re sleepy, then get lost."

Ye Linyuan moved forward and sat on the other side of the bed. As he spoke coldly, he took Jiang Qingli’s hand and pressed it onto his own thigh.

Gu Nian completely ignored the discordant voice.

The youth blinked his sleepy eyes. "Sister, can I sleep here? My internship requires me to stay in the employee dorms. If I go back now, I’ll definitely wake up my roommate..."

Jiang Qingli could tell he was faking his sleepiness, but using a Space Ability drained spiritual power relative to the distance traveled. He had come all the way from the First District and had dealt with two peepers; he really must be tired.

Jiang Qingli was just considering whether she should have the manor’s butler arrange for two more rooms when a shadow in the distance suddenly stirred.

’Wait.’

’Wait, wait, wait.’

’It can’t be—’

The shocking thought had barely formed when Jiang Qingli saw a familiar figure step slowly out of the shadows.

Yuan Shimo glanced at the two males flanking Jiang Qingli on her left and right. Disgust flashed in the green eyes behind his gold-rimmed glasses, but he didn’t seem surprised. "Good evening."
