Endless Ocean: Survival Begins with a Dugout Canoe
Chapter 632: Ancient Calamity Cub?
Chapter 632: Chapter 584: Ancient Calamity Cub?
Sinful Heaven?
A larva?
The information provided by the Eye of the Divine this time was truly unexpected. It made Shi Ming marvel at how miraculous fate could be sometimes. The Ancient Evil he had been painstakingly searching for was, in the end, right by his side all along.
It was a good thing he’d always kept his guard up.
‘But this little thing… It seems it doesn’t even know its own identity?’
Information from the Eye of the Divine continued to flicker in his vision.
[Sinful Heaven (Larva)]

[After the Ancient Evil “Sinful Heaven” fell, its origin, which was backed up in the “Radiant Dream Realm,” began to revive.]
[It continuously absorbed the power of suffering and sin from the dreams of the Star Spirit Race but was unexpectedly exposed by a divine secret treasure: the “Wishing Star of All Worlds.” The patriarch of the Star Spirit Race used his ability, the “Wishing Star of All Worlds,” to suppress “Sinful Heaven” while it was still in the early stages of revival, sealing it deep within the ancestral land.]
[…The Star Spirit Race was wiped out by Lord Ron of the Thirty-Seventh Cosmic Country.]
[“Sinful Heaven,” which had been suppressed in the ancestral land, was given a chance to revive. However, due to the prolonged sealing, it forgot its past memories and abilities. It lost its status and power as an Ancient Evil and had to start over from scratch.]
[The ancestral land of the Star Spirit Race became a Death Domain and began to be contaminated by the backlash of the wishes.]
[After absorbing the contamination from the Star Spirit Race, the amnesiac Sinful Heaven’s power became mixed, giving birth to a colorful new power. Amidst the daily pollution, the Star Spirit Race’s ancestral land, the “Radiant Dream Realm,” mutated into the “Banded Dream Realm.” The divine companion treasure, the “Wishing Star of All Worlds,” was in turn corrupted by the newborn Sinful Heaven—the Colorful Insect—and became its toy for wandering through the dreamscape.]

‘No wonder…’
‘High risk, high reward. Sinful Heaven had backed up its origin in the ancestral land of the Star Spirit Race, intending to absorb the contamination there for a quick revival after its fall. But even the most meticulous plan can have an oversight; the patriarch of the Star Spirit Race used the wish-granting secret treasure, the “Wishing Star of All Worlds,” and it was brutally suppressed. Even after the Star Spirit Race was subsequently wiped out and the seal failed, the released backup had already lost its past memories and abilities, turning into the Colorful Insect.’
‘It seems the Colorful Insect has been reborn more than once.’
A morbid thought suddenly occurred to Shi Ming.
‘According to the information, a complete Sinful Heaven has two Ancient Evil-level abilities.’
‘Rose of Sin, corresponding to its symbolism of [Sin].’
‘Ever-Killing Thorns, corresponding to its symbolism of [Suffering].’
‘Both of these abilities were lost during the suppression, and its origin is nowhere to be found. It’s unclear whether it dissipated into the Secret Realm of the Star Spirit Race or returned to the cosmos. It seems I’ll have to go back to the “Radiant Dream Realm” again. Using the Eye of the Divine as it is now, I’m certain I’ll be able to find more clues that were impossible to see before.’
As for the Bicolored Celestial Calamity…
It wasn’t lost. It was transferred to him.
…
…
…
“Master?”
Sensing that Shi Ming’s thoughts had suddenly drifted away, the Colorful Insect called out.
While talking about the issue of the Ancient Evils’ backups, it suddenly had a strange sense of déjà vu, as if it had forgotten something important. This feeling had appeared occasionally in the past, but it could never trace its source.
Over time, the Colorful Insect had learned not to pay it much mind.
“Master, did I let something slip?”
Outwardly, the aberration now appeared very humble, as if it had truly submitted with all its heart.
“No,”
“Your information was very useful.”
“Putting myself in their shoes, if I were an Ancient Evil, I would also choose a place like that. But the Ancient Evils are more cunning than we are; their way of thinking won’t necessarily be the same as ours. In that light, since the Flower of Malevolent Thoughts was born in the Sea of Chaos, the other Ancient Evils most likely had the same idea: to take root in the boundless chaos.”
Hearing Shi Ming’s analysis, the Colorful Insect couldn’t help but scoff inwardly.
‘The Ancient Evils are cunning?’
‘Could they possibly be more cunning than you?’
‘That Flower of Malevolent Thoughts that nearly completed its evolution—didn’t it die a miserable death at your hands, only to become your nourishment?’
But out loud, it was in complete agreement.
“Master has a point. Since a being like the Flower of Malevolent Thoughts, which embodies all the world’s malevolence, was born in the Sea of Chaos, it stands to reason the others would think the same.”
“So, are we going to roam the Sea of Chaos now?”
The Colorful Insect hadn’t forgotten its mission: to play the part of the guide.
‘Sir, this way!’
“The Sea of Chaos is boundless. To this day, no one has been able to find its other edge. Exploring it would be a time-consuming and laborious process that could take an unknown number of years. Before we do that, I plan to return to the Star Sea to handle a few things. We’ll set out afterward.”
The Colorful Insect found this perfectly reasonable.
‘This Shi Ming is barely in his twenties, still in his infancy, really. Forcing him to wander the boundless, tedious chaos would be a crueler torture than exile or imprisonment. Only those in their twilight years, like those ‘Anglers,’ would empty their minds and waste centuries or millennia on such dull pursuits.’
‘Looks like I won’t have to play the guide after all.’
“Ah Jian, return to the Star Sea.”
“Yes, Master.”
Peeking through Shi Ming’s Sea of Spirit, the Colorful Insect glanced at Ah Jian piloting the vessel in the control room and sneered inwardly. ‘So this is the other bug Shi Ming subdued? What a spineless creature. A traitorous worm, completely ignorant of strategic compromise. Now it’s doomed to be ordered around by a human for generations, doing menial tasks like this.’
‘Once I gain this Shi Ming’s trust, find an opportunity to escape this damned Sea of Spirit… I, the Colorful Insect, will once again become the calamity that plagues the starry sky!’
The Colorful Insect stretched its body and gleefully resumed its position beneath the Hundred-Floor Celestial Tower, continuing to analyze the drop of origin blood from the Flower of Malevolent Thoughts. This blood contained eternal knowledge that only an aberration could decipher; even a minuscule amount would benefit it immeasurably.
‘Perhaps one day, I’ll finally understand where that fleeting sense of “déjà vu” comes from.’
…
…
…
“Thirty thousand years ago, when I reawakened, I sensed the coordinates of the other Ancient Evil backups, including Sinful Heaven. It was because of that sense that I was able to find you.”
“Over these thirty thousand years, with my help, you too have reawakened.”
“And yet, the Flower of Malevolent Thoughts met a miserable end.”
Annihilation Heaven, also known as Slaughter Heaven, said to the woman beside him who had taken the form of a white fox.
He had been the first to find the location of Luxury and Lust Heaven—now known as Paradise Heaven—and it was difficult to say there weren’t other reasons for this.
Pleasure is the spice of slaughter.
Slaughter is also a form of desire. The two are complementary, making their revival process highly efficient.
“Therefore, we need to find Sinful Heaven’s backup as soon as possible and help it complete its revival. Thirty thousand years ago, its coordinates placed it in a Secret Realm deep within the Star Sea. I presume it hasn’t moved since then.”
“In that case, I suppose the matter of traversal falls to me?”
A smile played on the white fox’s lips as she accepted the task. The Ancient Evils’ own methods of traversal weren’t very efficient within the Star Sea. But as the embodiment of pleasure and desire, Paradise Heaven had ten thousand ways to find willing creatures to serve as her vessels.
And afterward, they would do so gladly, offering up their very everything.
