Chapter 812: Family Reunion In The Kingdom Of Faelarun

"You did... what?" Princess Xenia looked at Alex in disbelief.

Even Mary, who got along with the young man just fine, stared at their club president as if she were looking at a bug that deserves to be crushed by her heel.

"Well... it just happened," Alex replied while scratching his head. "You’ve already experienced what it’s like to fall under the control of the Synchronization Rate, haven’t you?"

Princess Xenia narrowed her eyes. "But you said its influence disappeared right before you did the act. This meant that you could have stopped if you wanted to."

Alex quieted down, unable to refute her words.

The princess of Avalon could only pinch the bridge of her nose. Her mind ran calculations regarding the political ramifications of what happened between Alex and the two princesses of the Kingdom of Faelarun.

She knew about Alex’s relationship with Lavinia, Fran, Latifa, and Evangeline. But when Alex told her that he had embraced the elven sisters, as well as Astrea, she felt like she was about to suffer a headache.

Astrea alone could still be settled. After all, she was a noble of the Kingdom of Avalon.

Also, Princess Xenia could vouch for Alex as a trustworthy person who would take responsibility for her.

However, her influence didn’t hold enough power to convince the King of the Elves.

She didn’t have the authority to decide something that might affect the relationship between the two kingdoms.

"It’s fine, Your Highness," Mary commented from the side. "In the worst-case scenario, we can just serve Alex on a silver platter. We can even add a coffin free of charge."

"Hey, don’t kill me off just yet!" Alex said to the maid, who was looking down at him as if he was some kind of scum. "I’m still so young."

"I’ll do what I can." Princess Xenia sighed. "Since you also helped save Queen Elaris, we might be able to appeal to King Aerindir’s better judgment. Still, brace yourself. The Elven King is known to be overly protective of his daughters. This might not end well for you."

Alex wasn’t an elf.

If he was, then things might still be within reasonable bounds.

Or at least that was what Princess Xenia thought.

Little did she know that although Alex was human, the blood flowing in his veins was from the legendary King of the Elves, King Aetherion.

Aeris knew it.

Lapiz knew it.

Queen Elaris also knew about it.

This was why the thought of actually eliminating Alex didn’t cross her mind.

Sure, he was human. But his lineage was the real deal.

On top of that, he was quite handsome, which made Queen Elaris believe that he was a good match for her daughters.

Since they were traveling as fast as they could, they arrived at their destination within two hours.

When the guards stationed at the airport saw their Queen, they immediately sent a messenger to the Royal Palace to inform their King that Queen Elaris had finally returned.

"Welcome home, Mother," Lapiz said as she hugged her mother from the side.

"Welcome home, Mother." Aeris did the same, making Queen Elaris tear up.

Before she had lost control of her senses in the island of Hy-Brasil, the last thing in her mind was her regret of not being able to see her family and her hometown once more.

Princess Xenia, Alex, and Mary watched this scene from the side with smiles on their faces.

The soldiers at the airport immediately prepared a carriage for their Queen, her daughters, as well as the heroes who helped find her.

It was an open carriage, which allowed the people in the streets to see that their Queen had returned.

Cheers erupted from the populace as they stood along the sides of the street, bowing their heads to welcome the return of their beloved Queen.

As the news spread throughout the city, more and more people poured out into the streets in order to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Queen who had gone missing for many years.

Suddenly, the sound of whistling wind reached their ears.

Coming from the Royal Palace, a person flew toward the carriage at great speed.

This person was none other than King Aerindir, who dropped everything he was doing and stormed out of his work office just to see if the news of his wife’s return was true.

The Elven King landed on the carriage and didn’t hesitate to pull his wife into an embrace, holding her tightly.

The carriage then stopped as the people on the side of the street cheered louder at this touching scene.

"I should have asked Chuck to stay..." Princess Xenia muttered as if feeling envious of this touching moment.

Mary nodded in agreement, while Alex pretended that he didn’t hear anything.

A few minutes later, the crown prince, Prince Kaelen, also arrived. Not caring about his image, he wrapped his arms around his mother’s body and cried.

Right now, he looked nothing like a proud Elven Prince of the Kingdom of Faelarun.

Instead, he looked like a child who just wished to hold his mother again after being apart for so many years.

Some of the spectators wiped the tears from their eyes due to this touching scene. When Prince Kaelen had finally regained his composure, the carriages moved once more and headed to the Royal Palace.

After so many years, their family of five was complete once more.

King Aerindir declared today as a national holiday, and he even opened the treasury so that his people could celebrate.

Since the festivities of the Inter-Academy Tournament had just ended, the decorations around the city were still in place.

A few hours later, music and joyful laughter spread throughout the streets of Everdawn City, while the Royal Family also held a feast, calling on the nobles of their kingdom to partake in their celebration.

Alex, Princess Xenia, and Mary were all hailed as heroes who helped find their missing Queen.

This was all part of Queen Elaris’ plan. She even asked her husband to confer a Medal of Honor to Alex.

That way, it wouldn’t be out of place if a Hero of their Kingdom were to marry her daughters.

Even if there would be backlash, they would still have justification on their side.

"Would you honor me with a dance?" Aeris asked Alex, who was trying to keep a low profile at the party.

"Um..."

"I won’t take no for an answer."

The elven princess then grabbed the young man’s hand and pulled him onto the dance floor, making sure everyone could take a good look at him.

Alex was wearing clothes fit for a prince, highlighting his good looks and charismatic charm.

He was even wearing a winged circlet, which Queen Elaris personally gave him to wear for the party.

"Why do you not look happy?" Aeris asked as she danced with her partner. "Are you not satisfied with me?"

"I-I’m happy," Alex replied.

"Then, would you have been happier if the one who asked you to dance was my sister instead?" Aeris asked back in a teasing tone.

"Yes," Alex replied without hesitation, looking very suave as he replied to her.

Feeling a little irritated, Aeris purposely stepped on his shoes, but Alex didn’t even flinch.

He simply danced with her as gracefully as possible so that Aeris would have no complaints after the dance ended.

Truth be told, Lapiz was about to ask Alex for a dance first. However, Aeris was faster.

Because of this, the younger princess decided that she would be bolder next time. That way, she could spend some quality time with Alex.

When the dance ended, Alex and Aeris bowed to each other.

He then escorted her out of the dance floor, where Lapiz was already waiting for her turn.

This time, Alex didn’t even wait to be asked, taking the initiative to invite Lapiz to a dance.

Aeris watched this scene with amusement. Sure, she felt a little jealous, but that was it.

The elven princess had accepted the fact that she and her sister fell in love with the same man. ℯ

Lapiz wasn’t her enemy.

She was her ally.

And since she was someone who took the initiative, she had already decided that she and her sister would not lose to Alex’s other lovers, who had been with him for a longer period of time.

If anything, Aeris believed that having Lapiz by her side would make their relationship with Alex even stronger.

The two sisters would support each other rather than allow jealousy to drive a wedge between them.

After all, they had always been together, and neither of them would ever sacrifice their sisterly bond for the sake of love.

As long as they could remain by Alex’s side together, Aeris was confident that she would eventually find a place in his heart.
