Chapter 700: Love Flags And Death Flags [Part 1]
Chapter 700: Love Flags And Death Flags [Part 1]
Alex woke up feeling refreshed after a good night’s rest.
He then looked at his side and saw Lavinia sleeping peacefully. Until now, she was holding onto his body.
Though the young lady had used him as a hug pillow throughout the night, Alex had no complaints.
Her soft sleeper breath was so calming that Alex almost went back to sleep. Through the faint morning light shining from their window, the young man’s gaze lingered on her naked body.
The faint kiss marks he had left behind, which was evidence of last night’s love making, was still present on her skin.
Seeing them washed away all the remnants of sleep from Alex’s system. Even little Alex was wide awake even before his Master had opened its eyes.
It was so full of vitality that Alex couldn’t help but smile helplessly. His little brother was surely lively so early in the morning.
Looking at the clock, he saw that it was nearly seven in the morning. It was time for breakfast.
Though, for a brief moment, he thought of having a different kind of breakfast, tempted by the sight of his lover’s beautiful body right beside him.
However, this thought didn’t last for long.
Alex knew that sooner or later, Dim Dim would come knocking.
"Lavinia, please wake up." Alex lightly shook his lover’s body, hoping it would be enough for her to open her eyes.
Fortunately, it didn’t take long for the young lady to wake up and greet Alex with a good morning.
Alex then returned her greeting with a kiss on her cheek before helping her get up from the bed.
After that, the two of them headed to the bathroom to take a bath together.
However, one thing led to another, and before the two of them knew it, they were only able to leave the bathroom an hour later.
When they arrived at the cafeteria of the inn they were staying at, many people were already there, eating breakfast together.
To his surprise, there were two other familiar faces there.
Chuck and Eleanora.
That was when something clicked inside their heads.
Chuck smirked at the two, while Eleanora averted her gaze, her cheeks turning a little red.
Alex smirked back at Chuck, fully knowing that he and his roommate both had a wonderful night last night.
As for Lavinia, even though she had lost her innocence, she was still a little too innocent.
She thought that all the inns were all fully booked due to the Inter-Academy Contest, leaving Chuck and Eleanora no choice but to reserve a room in this expensive hotel in the city.
Instead of joining their table, Alex did the most sensible thing a friend could do. He chose a table that was a good distance away from Chuck and Eleanora, giving them some privacy.
Lavinia didn’t understand why they didn’t join Chuck and Eleanora. In the end, her boyfriend only told her that he wanted to spend more time with her for just a little longer, which made Lavinia feel happy.
Because of that, she no longer insisted on joining Chuck’s table.
Alex’s consideration was well received by Chuck, which also brought Eleanora some peace of mind.
The vampire girl could already guess what Alex was thinking, so if he said anything in regard to THAT, she would probably walk out of the hotel without a second glance.
"I hope I didn’t take too much time away from your preparation for the contest," Lavinia said. "Latifa is actually very worried that you might not win the Singing King and the Battle Choir division."
"Don’t worry about that," Alex replied. "My win is already in the bag. Latifa is such a worrywart."
Alex’s confidence was through the roof. In fact, he almost felt sorry for his competitors. In his eyes, there was simply no way for them to win.
If Professor Arienna was there to hear Alex’s boasting, she might have already dug a hole she could bury herself in.
The only division where Alex’s win was guaranteed was the Battle Choir.
There was simply no creature, alive or dead, that would be able to defeat his diabolical voice.
As for the Singing King competition, the Professor already had a plan in mind.
She would knock Alex unconscious, tie him up, toss him into a place that would never be found, and only free him the next day when the Singing King competition was over.
After all, that was the only way Frieden Academy could survive such humiliation!
Although it didn’t show on her face, Professor Arienna was actually very worried that the Headmaster would deduct her salary by half if she let Alex sing in the Singing King competition!
"I like how confident you are," Lavinia said with a smile. "As expected of my man."
Alex reached out to hold Lavinia’s hand and gave it a light squeeze. "I’ll dedicate my song to you and the others."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Then, I will cheer you on!" Lavinia had no idea what she was signing up for. If Dim Dim was there, the little bun would have shook its head repeatedly, warning the young lady not to put any expectation into Alex’s singing.
After eating their breakfast, the two once again walked hand in hand to head to the accommodation that the Frieden Academy had booked for its candidates.
Both of them felt like newlyweds on their honeymoon. They enjoyed the sights and sounds of the city they walked past.
When they finally reached their destination, Alex noticed Dim Dim perched on top of a table while eating some pudding with Astrea, Vaan, and Cassian.
They saw Dim Dim earlier, waiting for Alex to return to the inn. Thinking that the little bun might be lonely, they invited it to eat, which Dim Dim accepted.
Astrea sensed Alex’s presence, prompting her to look in his direction with a smile.
"I was wondering where you are," Astrea said. "I haven’t seen you since we arrived here yesterday in the city."
"That’s because I had a date with my girlfriend," Alex replied, not minding one bit the look of relief on Cassian’s face.
Astrea’s brother had grown very wary of Alex ever since he noticed his sister becoming more conscious of the womanizer.
Though, seeing that the young man didn’t hide his relationship with Lavinia and even introduced her to them as his girlfriend, Cassian’s impression of him rose up by a notch.
Vaan mouthed a silent "Congratulations!" to Lavinia, which the young lady replied to with a smile.
However, the Singing Queen of the academy actually looked surprised by this sudden introduction.
"Your girlfriend?" Astrea blinked. "Wait, I thought Vaan and that fox girl was your girlfriend."
She even looked at Vaan, which made the latter cover her lips, looking sad and pitiful.
Vaan’s body was even shaking as if she was holding back her giggle—errr, sobs, making the other students from Frieden Academy look at Alex as if he was some kind of scum.
"T-They are my girlfriends as well!" Alex replied, which made Vaan’s body shake harder.
This time, even Vaan couldn’t help but tear up as he did his best to stop herself from laughing out loud. He even turned his giggles into mock sobs, which made the glares toward Alex’s direction more intense.
"It must be nice having so many beautiful girls as your lover," Cassian commented from the side, making sure to cement Alex’s womanizing reputation to his sister.
Lavinia blinked once, then twice.
Alex had confided his true relationship with Vaan to her, so she could only sympathize. After all, her lover was receiving unwanted attention from those who were not aware of Vaan’s true situation.
Since Dim Dim was still happily eating and he didn’t want to disturb its peace, Alex decided to return to his room to make an escape.
Lavinia also went to her own room that she shared with Nessia.
Princess Xenia had booked their rooms in advance, so they could also be in the same inn as the other students from the academy.
Alex thought he had finally escaped after closing the door behind him.
However, this was just wishful thinking.
He hadn’t even taken three steps when he noticed that he wasn’t alone inside his room.
There, seated on his bed with a mischievous look on her face, was none other than Lulu.
And for some reason, Alex’s instinct was telling him that if he didn’t leave the room fast enough, he would be eaten whole until only his bones were left.
