Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking

Chapter 935 935: First Migration

They were ready…

About 10 years passed since the council went public with the colonization. With this much time passed, one would think that the excitement about this would start fading, but surprisingly, it hasn’t.

The fervor and eagerness of the public still burned passionately as if they had just heard about it yesterday.

And because of that, the efforts poured into the first migration remained passionate too. People worked and contributed day and night to ensure that not only was the work constant but also of quality. No aspect of this project could be relaxed since it was closely tied to the prosperity of the whole race.

As such, a little bit over ten years since the announcement was made, everything was ready.

The ships that would be needed for the fleet had been made and were operational. All systems were optimized and are in excellent condition; each one was ready to be used at any given moment.

Also, every ship was already packed with the necessary gear and resources that the colonists would need upon their arrival. The crew for this mission had been gathered, trained, and prepared for the trip since it might take them a while to come back.

More importantly, the applicants for the migrators had been filtered, invited, and briefed about their mission and responsibilities.

Kudos to the AI that Gibson made, by the way. It’s certainly the MVP of this whole project phase. Without it, it would’ve taken much longer for them to scan everybody who fits the criteria for this mission.

Unlike the previous team, though, these people didn’t need to sign NDAs since the council went public with the information. Besides, their progress will be closely monitored and reported to the public moving forward as well, so there’s really no need for too much secrecy.

A trillion people for each chaos realm. That’s the minimum amount of people needed for this phase. Although it sounds a lot, in fact, this was a very conservative amount, especially considering how large both chaos realms were.

Alas, not every human was an expert at something and also a high-ranked Life Evolver, which was the minimum requirement for the applicants for this project.

Most life evolvers specialize in combat, and that was the last thing that the chaos realms in development needed right now. So, a trillion was, in fact, a conservative number.

Even the council itself didn’t think that they’d gather enough people. They thought that they’d need to divide a trillion people into two even groups before sending them to the chaos realms.

Luckily, that wasn’t the case. They managed to gather a little more than 2 trillion people to be divided equally (roughly) between both chaos realms.

Briefing these people and having them learn their responsibilities wasn’t really a difficult task. The AI, the same one who’s responsible for processing the applications, also created online courses that detailed everything these people needed to know. And as soon as the application was processed and passed, they also received these courses for self-study.

They were even required to participate in an exam to test their knowledge. They needed to send it to the AI too, for checking.

Fortunately, most of them passed with flying colors. As for those who didn’t, no matter, there was no lack of replacements anyway.

After all this, there was only one thing left to do, and that is to wait until the scheduled date.

And that date was today…

All personnel had already made their arrangements; those who needed to say goodbye to their friends and family have already done so. Everybody went to the council HQ to be gathered into their respective fleets. They’ve already met their teammates, their team leaders, their superiors, etc.

At dusk, they once again were briefed about their mission. It was a lengthy discussion that placed heavy importance on responsibilities and work ethics. They were constantly reminded of how important their mission was for humanity’s prosperity.

This discussion lasted all the way till dawn, and as they watched the sun rise over the horizon of the council’s HQ, the fleet sailed to the promised lands.

Their departure was livestreamed; everybody was watching and cheering them on. Some were excited, others were envious. Nevertheless, hope was at an all-time high, and this state will last for the following years because of this.

To make sure that the fleet would arrive safely and intact at their workplace, both Nick and Pat escorted them along the way in secret. With them around, the safety of the colonists was practically guaranteed.

As the fleet sailed, the colonists weren’t idling around.

They broke into smaller teams for discussions and division of responsibilities. They also collected their gear, received their IDs and documentation, and were told to be mentally prepared for a long toil.

Terraforming and colonizing two massive chaos realms was certainly not an easy task; they can’t be expected to make that happen overnight. Procedures had to be observed and followed to make sure that everything was built right.

The second phase of the colonization will take thousands of years, if not tens of thousands, depending on the circumstances and the passion of the teams.

It’s to be expected for it to take that long. After all, there are many things to be considered here. The demands of humanity’s living conditions are high, even more so when they want to prosper.

This expectation, coupled with the new environment they’d find themselves in, adds dozens of years, easily, into this project. And with plenty of differences between these two chaos realms and home, obviously there would be some adjustments that needed to be made.

**

The fleets traveled at the same speed, but because the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm was closer to Heavenly Star compared to the Crimson Womb Chaos Realm, the team for this area landed first.

And because they’d already been briefed and prepared for what they needed to do, as soon as the fleet landed, the colonists moved with unified purpose.

They didn’t need rest; they had plenty on the way here. As soon as they made contact with the land, the weight of their mission and purpose completely sank into their consciousness, and that was enough to spur them into a frenzy of movement.

The migrators saw the teams who had been sent here earlier than them. Most of them were tired, ragged, and in dire need of rest and reinforcements, but their eyes were clear and passionate.

These people were sent here to walk so that they could run. It was they who built the center of operations for this chaotic realm; they built roads, outposts, and scouted ahead, all so that those who come after will have an easier time.

Admiration was one thing, but it’s more useful to act rather than make these people blush with words or praise. So, the colonists moved.

They divided themselves into smaller teams and immediately scattered around to begin their work. They had their gear and equipment on them, they knew what must be done, and there’s one action left.

From the moment of their landing all the way to how they split into smaller groups and spread themselves out everywhere to do their work…all of it was livestreamed as well.

People back home were cheering them on. People were sending encouragement, wishing them well and good luck, etc. Even after all these years, the hype about this mission still burned brightly.

Because of these, pictures, clips, and videos of what the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm looked like started circulating online. The opportunists started milking these for content and views to increase their popularity.

Of course, the family members of the colonists were having their time under the spotlight. There were always people who bragged about how their parent, cousin, friend, or lover was part of the migration and was contributing to the new height of humanity’s prosperity.

About fifteen years after the Black Pegasus Fleet landed, the Crimson Womb Fleet also arrived. And just like their fellow colonists, as soon as they landed, straight to work they went.

Idleness isn’t a thing; it’s probably not even tolerated, especially since there are a ton of things to do here.

After all, who doesn’t want to complete the complete colonization as soon as possible? The earlier they finished, the earlier they could rest and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

The colonists were like tiny insects scattering around after being startled by a loud sound to anybody who’s watching from afar.

It couldn’t be helped; there’s just too much ground to cover.

Despite that, though, nobody complained. Maybe because it’s still this early and everybody’s too excited about doing something worthwhile, but it couldn’t be denied that the energy in the workplace was definitely and overwhelmingly positive.

All the way back to the Rising Sun Sector Domain, Cedric watched as all of this happened with a small smile on his face.

With such a huge event being the main focus of people for the forseeable future, he was even more sure that people would definitely not bother him anymore.

And that was perfect for him. He’d continue as is, taking each step closer to the true peak slowly but surely.
