Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World

Chapter 489: Setting Off To Northern Star Region

"Who is he?" Aron muttered to himself.

The young man had already entered the house, but Aron could still clearly sense the Stellar Devil power within him.

There was no mistaking it. He had sensed that same power during the battle.

The young man’s body carried the unmistakable aura of the Stellar Devil race. However, there was something peculiar about it.

For some reason, the power he sensed felt superior to that of the Stellar Devils he knew, including himself.

Aron frowned at the thought.

’How is that possible?’

The young man’s strength was far below his own. By all accounts, he shouldn’t have been anything special compared to Aron.

And yet, the bloodline within him gave him a strange sense of inferiority.

It was a feeling he had never experienced before.

Curious about the young man’s identity, Aron had followed Caelus all the way here, only to discover him constructing a house beside Bertram’s lake.

"So he was the one who bought the World Builder."

He remembered Bertram placing the bid during the auction. At the time, Aron had assumed the fairy wanted another property for his hotel business.

Who would have thought he had purchased it for this unfamiliar young Primordial?

"Interesting."

A faint smile appeared on Aron’s face.

He was certainly curious, but there was no need to approach the young man just yet.

It would be better to gather more information about him before deciding what to do.

With that thought, Aron cast one last glance at the house before disappearing from the ridge.

The following morning, Bertram paid them a visit.

Caelus and Sylvia were having breakfast on the balcony when he arrived, while Freya was already downstairs enjoying the swimming pool.

She had insisted on getting into the water before anyone could suggest another trip.

"Enjoying the place?" Bertram asked as he settled into the chair opposite Caelus.

Sylvia poured him a cup, which he accepted with a grateful smile.

"Very much. Though I have a feeling Freya might refuse to leave," Caelus replied.

"Haha! I can certainly understand her. You chose quite a wonderful spot."

Bertram glanced toward the lake with a satisfied expression before turning his attention back to Caelus.

"By the way, Brother Caelus, I hope you haven’t forgotten our promise."

Caelus set down his fork.

"Of course I remember. You’ve helped us settle in, and honestly, you’ve already done more than I expected."

"I know you’re busy. I just wanted to hear you say it."

"If I find a way to take you outside this world, I’ll help you leave. I haven’t changed my mind about that."

Hearing those words, Bertram visibly relaxed.

"That’s enough for me."

Caelus could understand his concerns.

After all, Bertram had spent his entire life dreaming of leaving this world. Now that an opportunity had finally presented itself, his hopes rested on someone he had only recently met.

It was only reasonable for him to seek some reassurance.

Caelus certainly wasn’t going to blame him for that.

"Anyway, I actually brought you some news."

Bertram retrieved a small map and placed it on the table.

A faint light emerged from its surface before expanding into a projection of the Northern Star Region.

"A Cell Energy Pool has recently opened in Adler territory. I believe it would be an excellent opportunity for you and your companions to grow stronger."

Hearing this, Sylvia stopped reaching for the jug.

"A Cell Energy Pool? You mean a pool containing the same energy we received from the Records?"

"Precisely. Instead of slowly absorbing small amounts of Cell Energy from your surroundings, you can absorb it directly from the pool."

Bertram pointed toward a glowing mark on the projected map.

"Of course, I can’t guarantee how much you’ll gain from it. That depends on the quality of the pool and how much energy your body can absorb. Nevertheless, it’s certainly worth visiting."

Caelus examined the marked location with considerable interest.

His cellular development was still at forty percent.

Although Endless Extraction had increased his Power Index, it hadn’t contributed to his actual cellular development.

A large portion of his body still needed to be properly nourished with Cell Energy.

And if this pool truly contained such a large concentration of energy, it might be exactly what he needed.

More importantly, Sylvia and the others could also benefit from it.

Unlike him, they couldn’t rely on Endless Extraction to increase their strength.

’This could be a good opportunity for everyone.’

"We were planning to visit the emperor anyway," Caelus said. "Might as well take care of both things while we’re there."

"Oh? So you’ve decided to accept his invitation?"

"Yeah. I’m curious about what he wants to discuss."

Naturally, that wasn’t his only reason.

Caelus was also interested in meeting the God Emperor himself.

Someone who had reached such an extraordinary level of power was bound to possess something valuable.

And considering the capabilities of Endless Extraction, Caelus couldn’t help wondering whether there was anything he could extract from the man.

Of course, whether he would actually get such an opportunity was another matter entirely.

But there was no harm in meeting him first.

"Wonderful!"

Bertram smiled before folding the map.

"In that case, I’ll personally take you there. Just give me a few days to finish some work here."

"Sure. We aren’t in any hurry."

And so, the next three days passed rather peacefully.

Caelus spent most of his time training in the newly constructed rooms, familiarizing himself with the power circulating through his World Cells and improving his control over it.

Sylvia joined him for part of each day, while Himmel occupied himself with testing the durability of the building’s walls.

Fortunately, he seemed satisfied with their strength and eventually moved his training into his own room.

As for Freya, she made full use of the swimming pool she had been so insistent on having.

In fact, she seemed to enjoy it more than anyone else.

When Bertram’s ship finally arrived three days later, Freya stood on the front steps with a rather displeased expression.

"We just got here," she complained.

"And the house will still be here when we return," Caelus replied.

He stood beside the ship’s open entrance, waiting for her to come aboard.

"Besides, if you really want to stay behind, that’s fine too."

Freya immediately climbed aboard.

"I didn’t say that!"
