Chapter 430: Ender Of Fate’s Whereabouts and Heavenly Lord

Caelus immediately set off for the location John sent him. Everyone else was still training, so he saw no reason to disturb them before learning what had happened.

John was waiting above a dead planet.

Brown cracks covered its surface, cutting through empty seas and fallen cities. Caelus could see where rivers had once crossed the land, but not a drop of water remained.

"This planet has been completely destroyed," John said. "We were tracking someone from the Heavenly Faction, but his trail ended here."

Caelus studied the world below.

Whole stretches of land had been burned flat. Farther away, a city lay beneath a thick layer of ash with only the tops of its tallest buildings showing.

He had destroyed enemies before, but looking at an entire world left like this made his stomach tighten.

"If I use Time Authority, I should be able to see what happened here."

The Mystic Code could let him look into the past and watch the events that had led to this. He would not need to restore the planet just to learn who had destroyed it.

But he still could not use it.

"Is it time for me to reach Lesser God Rank?" He mumbled.

He had enough Faith Power and a complete Divine Body. There was little reason to keep putting it off when the ability he needed was already waiting for him.

Before making that decision, he spread his senses across the planet.

His range had grown enough to surround two or more stars. Searching the dead world beneath him took only a moment.

Caelus passed through buried buildings and empty tunnels without finding a single living person. Then he noticed a small object deep beneath a ruined city.

Unlike everything around it, the object still held a faint trace of power.

"Wait here."

He descended before John could answer and stopped above the ruins. Broken stone lifted out of his way as he reached beneath the ground.

[Innate Power Activated: Telekinesis.]

A narrow path opened through the rubble. A moment later, a small metal device flew into his hand.

Its outer case was cracked, but light still flickered along one edge.

Caelus brushed away the dirt as the device lit up.

A moving image appeared above it, showing the same city before its destruction. Crowds filled the streets beneath a bright sky, and a man stood high above them.

His long black hair hung over white robes. One eye was red and the other blue, but neither showed any interest in the people staring up at him.

"Ender of Fate, come out. I know you’re here."

Caelus’s fingers tightened around the device.

He knew that voice.

Back in the Abyss, he had entered a fragment of the God Domain and received powers granted by Gods. One arrogant God from that place had spoken exactly like this man. The Heavenly Faction’s God.

That had also been where he obtained Ruyi Jingu Bang.

He had barely used it lately, but the memory of that meeting returned as the man spoke again.

"If you don’t come out, I will kill all your people here."

The sky behind him changed from blue to red.

The color spread across the clouds before turning pale white. People screamed as daylight faded and returned within seconds.

Caelus watched a mother pull her child into a building. Before the door closed, a second man appeared above the city.

He had long silver-gray hair and golden eyes. His dark coat moved in the wind as he placed himself between the stranger and the streets below.

Another man followed him, covered in gold from head to toe. It was Jeffry.

Caelus frowned seeing this.

The way he looked reminded him of the man from Earth that shared the same appearance in description. Could it be him? if it was it would make sense.

The man had worked from the shadows on Earth and passed information to its strongest factions. Seeing him beside the Ender of Fate made several old questions return at once.

If he was with the Ender Of Fate, it would make a lot of sense for him to know of things back on Earth. It must be some divining Fate related power.

Then, the silver-haired man, the Ender Of Fate looked toward the stranger.

"So you’ve come, Heavenly Lord. To think you would send a clone here just to find me."

His voice remained calm as the changing sky washed over them.

"I’m honored."

"Enough talk, Bane. Come with me to the God Domain and I’ll let the people here live."

Bane shook his head.

"I don’t want war. Whatever you came here expecting, I won’t help you start another one."

The Heavenly Lord’s mouth curved into a sneer.

"You think that decision belongs to you?"

"This cycle will be different. I’m going to break it before we’re dragged into the same wars again."

"Then you can come willingly, or I can take you after breaking every bone in your body."

Bane lowered his gaze for a moment.

Jeffrey vanished from beside him.

A flash of gold appeared behind the Heavenly Lord as Jeffrey drove a blade toward his neck. At the same time, golden threads spread from Bane’s hand and closed around the clone’s limbs.

CLANG!

The blade stopped against two fingers.

The Heavenly Lord had not even turned around.

"Was that your answer?"

He pulled Jeffrey forward by the weapon and drove an elbow into his chest.

BANG!

Jeffrey flew across the sky as the golden threads tightened around the clone. Bane pulled with both hands, dragging the Heavenly Lord away from the city.

For the first time, the clone’s expression changed.

He looked annoyed.

[Skill Activated: Yin-Yang Explosion.]

Black light gathered in one palm and white light in the other. Bane’s golden threads broke as the Heavenly Lord brought his hands together.

"Stop!"

Bane dropped toward the city, spreading his power beneath him.

BOOOOOOM!

The recording turned white.

Caelus could still hear the blast through the device. When the image returned, the streets were gone.

The buildings had collapsed beneath a rolling wave of destruction. Beyond them, the sea rose into steam as cracks spread across the land.

Bane hung above the ruins.

His coat was torn and blood ran down one side of his face. He stared at the dead city before turning toward the Heavenly Lord.

"You... How dare you kill my people!"

Golden light erupted around him as he rushed forward.

Seeing this, the Heavenly Lord’s clone caught him by the throat.

Bane struck his arm, but the Heavenly Lord drove a fist into his stomach and hit him again before he could recover.

BANG!

The golden light vanished.

Jeffrey came from the side with another weapon in his hand. The Heavenly Lord caught his wrist and slammed him into Bane hard enough to leave both men hanging limp.

Immediately after, a crack opened beside the clone.

Space folded inward, revealing a dark passage beyond it.

"With him, only Death and Life remain."

The Heavenly Lord looked at the unconscious Bane and grinned.

"You don’t want war? Then I’ll manipulate you all until you have one."

He dragged both men through the opening.

Caelus stood motionless as the recording ended. The clone’s last words left no room for doubt.

He was coming for Sylvia and Freya.
