Chapter 1690 1690: We must run! (Part 2)
Loargh's attacks put unexpected pressure on the Dark Knight.
Sure, unlike Adam or Vyora, his punches didn't pack the same destructive power. But in less than a minute, Loargh landed over fifty hits on the Dark Knight, and the Dark Knight was only able to block a small fraction of them.
However, Loargh had his limits. His iron boots had grown extremely hot; the metal began to glow red, and soon enough, they would not withstand the pressure and shatter into pieces.
Fortunately for Loargh, he wasn't fighting the Dark Knight alone. He knew that Sarka was waiting for him to create the right moment for her, and that moment had arrived.
Crack!
In a powerful leap, Sarka surged forward. The flame that usually surrounded her took the form of a wild beast, its jaws wide open in a ferocious roar.
For the first time in a long while, she was completely serious, her focus entirely on her target.
Her gaze was cold as a glint ran across her claws.
"I don't have time for this!!!" The Dark Knight cried inwardly, turning toward Sarka.
In a split second, he assessed the magnitude of the threat she posed. Her muscles were tensed to the limit. The ground beneath her was cracking, though she hovered above the surface, it was the effect of her sheer aura.
Then, the Dark Knight realized he couldn't let her get to him. It could be the first step toward his defeat, and he had to avoid it at all costs.
Clutch!
The Dark Knight gripped his sword tightly with both hands, raising it high above his head.
"Get away from me! You are still too young to bear your fangs at me!!!"
In a sharp movement, he plunged his sword into the ground, as the dark flame spread out around him.
Loargh's gaze turned toward the darkness for a moment, but then he soared above the ground, preparing to continue his attack.
'That's bad, but I can help Sarka from here. I must do everything to make her attack as effective as possible and-'
Suddenly, his eyes widened as the darkness covering the ground around the Dark Knight trembled.
In an instant, more than a dozen sharp spears shot upward, ready to pierce everything nearby.
At the last moment, Loargh managed to fly higher, yet one of the spears grazed his leg, leaving a deep cut.
'Shit! It only scratched me!'
Then, his gaze turned to the battlefield, and his eyes filled with panic.
'Wait…'
Loargh watched as the spears continued to appear, their numbers growing ever greater.
'No! There are too many of them! He… He didn't use that ability to attack!'
True, the Dark Knight raised his head, looking at Sarka approaching him.
Now, he could see her through the gaps among the dozen spears in front of him, but a split second later, only darkness remained.
The spears had become a solid wall that would be difficult even for Adam or Vyora with her flame to break through.
'Good, I've gotten rid of those two, at least for now.' The Dark Knight nodded to himself. 'Now, I have to deal with this Phantom and the fire girl, or-'
Crack. Crack. Crack.
A sharp crack snapped him out of his thoughts, making his heart race.
The dark shards flew off to the side one after another, and a blue flame appeared among the spears.
No matter how sturdy the wall was, nothing could stop Sarka now while her flame burned brightly.
Unfortunately for the Dark Knight, he realized this too late.
'This girl…'
With that final thought, he stepped forward, preparing to counterattack, but it was a mistake on his part to try to use fencing against a wild beast.
Whooooooosh!
In a wild whirlwind, Sarka charged forward through the remaining spears as the Dark Knight lunged, aiming straight for her heart.
Her pupils dilated as she twisted at a strange angle, all to dodge his sword.
SLASH!
The Dark Blade sank deep into her shoulder, slicing through her flesh. Blood gushed out, but Sarka's face showed no sign of pain or any other emotion.
He had wounded her, but she was about to do far more horrific things to him.
CLUTCH!
Sarka grabbed the Dark Knight by the head, her claws scratching his helmet as all her energy surged back into her body in one rush.
"You're finished, old man."
The next thing the Dark Knight saw was her furious gaze before plunging into a living hell of pain and agony.
CUT! CUT! CUT!
At tremendous speed, Sarka began to hack at the Dark Knight, bringing her claws down on him like a predator whose goal was to tear its prey apart.
Thanks to her abilities and the Hollow Mark, the Dark Knight could not resist. She was too fast, and her claws easily damaged his sturdy armor.
"AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!"
A painful scream erupted from the Dark Knight as blood spattered from his body along with the armor plates. Cuts, open wounds, and torn flesh covered his body.
Sarka intended to end it all right here and now. To keep her word.
But…
TAP!
Just as her claws were about to tear through his helmet, her hand froze.
Her entire body trembled in spasms as she couldn't move even the tip of her finger.
In disbelief and fear, Sarka's eyes widened.
Her mind and spirit were ready to fight, but not her body.
"Rha…" The Dark Knight smirked. "It seems a wild beast has reached its limit?"
BAM!
The Dark Knight's fist plunged deep into Sarka's stomach, folding her in half.
Blood gushed from her mouth as the impact threw her to the other side of the arena.
In a flash of white, Loargh caught her, glaring at the Dark Knight.
"Gha… Gha… Gha…"
He was breathing heavily. No more than 30% of his armor remained, and his helmet was covered in cracks.
"That's enough, young generation…" The Dark Knight rasped as he struggled to stand upright.
Adam leaned forward as darkness clouded his eyes.
'The Dark Energy. If I use it now, will I be able to defeat him?'
Crack. Crack. Crack.
However, before he could do so, a cracking sound rang out.
The Dark Knight's helmet shattered into pieces, revealing his face and black hair.
Then, he raised his sword before him and grinned widely with an apologetic look.
"Sorry, guys, but you forced my hand."
Crack. Crack. Crack.
One shard after another chipped away from his sword as a bright amber light burst forth.
In fact, his sword possessed a sharp amber blade exuding the powerful force of the Frenzied Shard.
But something else caught everyone's attention.
On the sword was a symbol resembling the Hollow Mark.
"No… This can't be…"
When Loargh saw it, his face paled, and there was only one thought in his mind:
'We must run!!!'
