Endless Debt
Chapter 1603 - 108: The Storm Approaches
At first, Medi could still utter some curses, let out some hysterical wails, but gradually, his voice weakened, his consciousness seemed on the brink of shattering, unable to speak a complete sentence, leaving only the deep breaths driven by physiological instinct.
Bologue maintained his rigorous and serious demeanor, the interrogation aimed at Medi seemingly transforming into a research project, with Bologue continuously refining his Secret Energy, incessantly maneuvering through the fragments of Medi’s Alchemy Matrix.
The Secret Source is the origin of all Condensers, akin to a massive server, connected to all Alchemy Matrices. When a Condenser expends Ether as a cost, they can use the Alchemy Matrix as a converter to obtain Miracle Power from the Secret Source to alter reality.
Bologue realized that his current capabilities were akin to acquiring certain management privileges within this vast server. Given ample time and assistance, Bologue can not only replicate Medi’s Alchemy Matrix but also modify it, completely transforming the capabilities of his Alchemy Matrix into a different form.
Of course, this is merely hypothetical. Bologue doesn’t think he can achieve such precision at present, at least not as a Defender.
"This feeling is truly marvelous, Aimou," Bologue murmured, "I feel like a designer, directly glimpsing the grand blueprint of the Alchemy Matrix."
"Yeah, it’s really bizarre," said Aimou.
As an Alchemy Puppet, Aimou herself is already a manifestation of miracles, yet she was greatly astonished upon witnessing Bologue’s power.
Aimou asked, "Bologue, I have a question. With this ability, what application scenario do you immediately imagine?"
"Completely neutralizing those troublesome opponents, like the Undead," said Bologue, "as long as I can completely shatter their Rectangular Soul Critical, invade their Alchemy Matrix, and from this soul level, control and destroy the grand blueprint of the Alchemy Matrix, I can sever their connection to the Secret Source, completely losing their Extraordinary Power."
The more Bologue spoke, the more excited he became, his eyes flashing with a terrifying light, "At that time, the Undead will no longer possess the power to communicate with Ether; they will merely be a group of ordinary people who won’t die."
A strong sense of excitement pervaded Bologue’s heart. The Undead had always been extremely difficult to handle; they couldn’t be killed, nor detained easily, like a dead knot, an unsolvable problem. But now, things were different. Bologue suspected he possessed the ability to eradicate the Undead. Although this couldn’t completely destroy them physically, it would suffice to minimize their threat to the world, rendering them completely harmless.
Upon hearing this answer, Aimou felt complicated emotions and sighed in resignation, "What a violent idea."
"What’s wrong? From your perspective as a Scholar, where do you see the application of this?"
"It’s definitely analysis!"
Aimou exclaimed, "Since you possess this absolute microscopic level of invasion, it means that those encrypted, hard-to-crack replicative Alchemy Matrices will be laid bare under your invasion; all the grand blueprints of miracles in the world will be open to you."
In this aspect, she and Bologue arrived at the same thought.
"If the Secret Source uses itself as a cornerstone, constructing this vast Extraordinary System, then you essentially possess developer permissions. With sufficient capability, you can freely probe, destroy, or modify Alchemy Matrices... your Secret Energy is not only for destruction."
Aimou suddenly remembered a discussion with Bologue long ago, a conversation that Bologue often mentioned to others, though at that time, it wasn’t considered very important, and people didn’t pay much attention.
"Bologue, I suggest to you as a Scholar, your Secret Energy School shouldn’t be limited to the Commanding School."
Aimou said, "You should be classified under the Deceitful Structure School."
Bologue smiled, "At this moment, does it still matter which school I belong to?"
This entire series of dialogues happened solely within Bologue’s mind, translating to reality as Bologue suddenly halted his torture of Medi, stood there dazed, resembling a case of schizophrenia, occasionally smiling, sometimes displaying a somber expression.
Hinda was baffled by Bologue, unable to comprehend what was going on. The interrogation seemed to be going smoothly, why the sudden pause? And after stopping, why was he making such faces? Is it possible his own brutal actions disgusted him?
Looking over at the others, Serey and Palmer seemed unperturbed, as if similar situations had occurred repeatedly.
Hinda softly asked, "What’s going on?"
Palmer countered, "What?"
"I’m asking, what is he doing?"
Hinda felt an inexplicable sense of helplessness; upon joining this peculiar team, she felt like a fly trapped in a glass jar, buzzing around only to repeatedly hit walls.
"Oh, he’s chatting with someone, Aimou. Didn’t she drill into Bologue’s body? The two of them can directly converse in their minds."
After Palmer finished speaking, he grew somewhat animated again, "This ability is so convenient. Without Whistle communication, who knows if they are handling official tasks or sharing secrets, right?"
