Chapter 864: Imminent Danger
Chapter 864: Imminent Danger
“Hey there, I turned my head away and you’re gone from sight, that’s not okay, you know,” a silvery voice soothed clearly inside Lyon’s eardrum.
“Hmm?” Lyon turned and saw Farash smiling as she approached him. “You know, you’re traversing a dangerous area right?”
“Oh, I know that,” Farash smiled before she darted her glance toward Cecile who smiled and shook her head.
“You better watch your distance,” said Cecile.
“Oh, c’mon sister, don’t be like that,” said Farash before she smiled coquettishly at Lyon. “After all, who knows, we might share a drink together at the same table.”
“She is not threatening you,” said Zelena. “She is warning you.”
“Fang?” Farash raised her brows. “That’s not nice, I don’t think sister here is that type of a woman.”
“She probably not, but my sister is,” Zelena rolled her eyes. “She won’t hesitate in the slightest to lob your head with her sword.”
Farash tilted her head as she twitched her brows. She approached the Fang of Leviathan and stood right in front of her. “Is that a threat?”
“She is telling the truth,” said Kesya from the side. “She is a little bit on the jealousy type.”
“But that’s good,” said Cecile as she disregard the tension with a bright yawn. “She keeps order around my husband here, often times, I don’t have to lift a single finger.”
“Is that so?” Farash leered over.
“Brother!!” a wild laugh appeared out of nowhere.
Lyon and the rest turned their attention toward the source before realizing that it was White Crow.
“Oh? Did I interrupt something important?” White Crow raised his brows like a fool.
“You sure interrupt me, White Crow,” said Farash as she turned with a sigh. “What do you want, White Crow?”
“I want to talk to my long-lost brother here, what do you want?” asked White Crow.
“Your shame seems to see no bound,” Farash crossed her arms. “I have seen a lot of men in my life, and you’re amongst the worst.”
“Hmm?” White Crow furrowed his brows. “Do you think that you have the high ground here? Bathe h! don’t be ridiculous! I’m sure you’re aware of the rumors going around you, you harlot.”
Lyon smirked and shrugged his shoulder. He was amused by the escalation of the encounter. He never thought that it would go this way right after Zelena told her story. However, he raised his brows as his attention lay elsewhere. “Oh?”
“Master, you feel it?” Kesya grinned in excitement as she slightly loosened her shoulder. “My goosebumps rose in excitement!!”
Assid raised his brow before he bowed, “My emperor, you’re capabilities are still wondrous as before.”
Graham opened his crossed arms as he looked in the same direction as Lyon. He squinted his eyes before he narrowly caught a flapping wing.
Cecile yawned before Lumina widened her eyes as her goosebumps were pulled out by the inept fear from her bloodline.
“What are you guys talk— Huh?!” White Crow’s soul sunk as his eyes widened along the rest of the town. The dreadful presence cloaked them without mercy as the incoming terror hovered in the night sky.
“Everyone!” Sakya shouted before she and Baiyun rushed to their side.
“Fang! It’s The Swarm!” shouted Baik before he as well as those elites rushed outside the hall.
The bustling town that was five minutes ago filled with laughter, smiles, and tosses between respected adventurers soon turned to gawks and silent. The fright froze their spine and shot a frost to their brain thus making them sober instantaneously.
“A-Ah! What is that?! What is that thing!”
“The Swarm! It must be!”
The adventurers were panicking down below.
“Sakya!” shouted Di.
“We need to mobilize fast!” Sakya nodded at Di before the latter replied,
“I will haste to the First Checkpoint and aid them!” shouted Di before he launched himself away in a single leap.
Sakya nodded before Baiyun turned and said with open arms, “Everyone, this is no time to plot against each other, Myriad Devils are at risk of destruction we will need all the power we can use.”
“Leviathan is ready,” Lorey tapped his staff before he furrowed his brows, “Are you?”
“We will mobilize the whole guilds, all five guilds of the Guild Link will participate!” said Farash as she stood right before the panicked and turmoiled adventurers. She extended her arm forward. “Everyone! We all must dismiss our differences once more, The Swarm this time will require all of our forces! All leaders of the Guild Link will join you all at the frontline!”
“T-That’s Farash of the Water Guild! The Mistress of the Ocean!”
“Farash and the rest are joining us!”
“Yeah! Yeah!!! We can’t lose!!” shouted the adventurers
Lyon raised one of his brows with a smile after seeing and hearing the morales being coiled with a new leash of life. Though the situation was still in impending dire, at the very least they faced them.
“Not bad,” Lyon uttered before Farash turned and smiled at him.
“Will you take an action?” asked Farash before Sakya and the rest got their attention courted.
Lyon smiled before he looked at the beast hovering in the sky.
“Of course, he will! Right, brother?” White Crow grinned. “With you and Leviathan and us five, The Swarm is nothing but a bad day for cutting hair! Hahaha!”
“Lyon will you make a move?” asked Zelena.
Sakya looked at Lyon’s arrogant smile toward Zelena before an alarming roar was heard, trembling the very land where they stood. However, Lyon still kept his arms crossed despite the others trying to reclaim their balance.
“It’s coming!”
The silhouette of the beast was standing vertically like a human. However, it had two pairs of three claws and another two pairs of feet. Its opened its red eyes and dark pupils before it joined two of its arms together trying to compress the surrounding mana right in front of its chest.
“Die…” it muttered hoarsely.
The compressed mana turned into a stabilized sphere before it was soon released from its claws and threaded carefully toward the direction of the town. The dark sphere pulsed before it increased twice its size.
“Eeek!!” the adventurers immediately had cold feet and shivering tremors as they saw the size was challenging the very moon behind it.
“Shit!” Sakya cursed before she slammed one of her feet forward. Her eyes turned fiery before she leaped toward it. Blazing mana was spiraling her arms.
“Flame Art: Hellfire Column!!”
She extended both of her arms forward before she pierced the blazing fire against the giant sphere. Her fire was flaring as she gritted her teeth and shouted her warcry.
“Impetuous,” Farash commented with a twitch of her lips before she leaped toward the sky as well. She reached toward her cleavage before she threw five daggers in a star formation.
“Oh, magic daggers!” Lyon laughed. “Haven’t seen that in a while.”
The five daggers gleamed at the same time that Farash sharpened her eyes.
“Water art: Rampage of The Ocean!!”
The five daggers trembled before shooting toward the sphere with spiraling water tracing right behind it. All of them pierced the sphere perfectly before the five tornadoes of water started to wreak havoc.
The flame and the water danced on the sphere before it broke apart under the dismay of the adventurers.
“FucK!” Sakya cursed as she fell.
“Sakya!” Farash quickly hovered down and caught her in midair.
“Step aside.”
Moris’s hair fluttered before he wrote a golden chant with his finger.
“Oh? Immortal Level Magic?” Lyon clapped, “Not bad, however, your straining your own cultivation here, you’re clearly not ready for that.” he smirked.
“Tch! Hehe, do I have a choice, I still am a guild leader.”
Lyon nodded in affirmation. “That’s right, you’re doing the right thing.”
“Heh,” Moris let out a smirk against Lyon’s jest before his eyes turned sharp. “Immortal Magic! Dendro’s Cage!!”
The spell shimmered after his chant before a huge blue magic brand covered the entire town.
Roots pierced through from the outskirts of the town before coiling against each other as it grew toward the sky creating a huge dome with little gaps between the roots for the stars to peek.
“Gah!” Moris had his back slammed against the ground as he heaved up and down. “A-At least, this will buy us some time.”
“W-What? You’re not confident that it would repel that thing off?!” Baiyun shouted.
“Baiyun, now is not the time,” said White Crow as he squinted his eyes toward the sky. “It’s crashing down right before us!”
The dark sphere crashed against the thick roots and shook the cage at contact. All adventurers paused as they saw the doom didn’t advance further. Their lips started to reach their ears before a reverberating crack killed their hope. A piece of the branch fell from above before hitting the ground.
“It broke!!”
The beast hovering under the moon smirked. “Fool.”
The sphere advanced through and broke apart the branches before it pulsed once again. Everyone froze at the sheer size as their breaths were taken away by the sight.
