Chapter 7121: Who’s Dead?

Chapter 7121: Who’s Dead?

“Young Noble, if I truly thought that way, would I be here right now?” He disagreed.

“But you also didn’t do anything.” Li Qiye smiled.

“I suppose I can’t refute.” He said.

“I sound like a jerk but there are indeed things you can do.” Li Qiye said.

“Young Noble, I am just a minor immortal, too weak to amount to anything.” He smiled bitterly.

“You’re weak?” Li Qiye stared at him and smiled.

“Others might think I’m acting humble but you know what I'm up against. It’s the same thing when I’m facing you.” He said.

“Then you know everything?” Li Qiye nodded.

“Not quite, only speculations.” He said.

“But I’m sure you are confident of them.” Li Qiye said: “Nonetheless, you still made her the new lord while acting as if nothing had happened.”

“I suppose I was mistaken.” He took a deep breath.

“Yes, you were at fault since you knew exactly what was going on. Would it have stopped with inaction?” Li Qiye asked.

“I thought it would stop after Qing Ji’s escape.” He said.

“So you did nothing despite being aware of Qing Ji’s goal?” Li Qiye asked.

“Young Noble, Qing Ji wouldn’t have been able to escape without my help.” He said.

“Then I came to the right person. “Li Qiye smiled.

“I don’t think so because I can’t be of use in the future.” He said.

“I don’t need your help, just here to ask a few questions. The other divine beasts won’t talk or don’t want to talk, but you will.” Li Qiye explained.

“You think too highly of me, I actually know rather little.” He said.

“Skykiller True Dragon, did he pass away or was he killed?” Li Qiye suddenly asked.

He didn’t expect this and staggered backward.

“Is this a hard question?” Li Qiye asked.

“I cannot answer this question, Young Noble.” He said.

“And yet you said you would reveal what you know.” Li Qiye said.

“I just don’t know everything.” He turned red and coughed awkwardly.

“I got the answer, more or less.” Li Qiye said.

“It wasn’t like that, Young Noble.” He became anxious.

“Then what?” Li Qiye asked, prompting him to hesitate.

“For what reason do you keep this a secret? For the dragon, or the phoenix? Or for the dignity of your race?” Li Qiye asked.

“Speculations without evidence will be speculations.” He slightly panicked.

“Yet the answer is clear in your heart. Now, answer the next question.” Li Qiye said.

“Please go ahead, Young Noble.” He said nervously.

“Which of them is alive, or both?” Li Qiye asked.

He staggered backward again, shuddering with shock.

“How many among the divine beasts know this? Only Xiaoyue would be innocent enough to think she was the first to figure this out. Even the imprisoned Gluttonous Beast lied to her.” Li Qiye said: “And you as well, her ancestor. I actually don’t care about your internal matters, whether who’s alive or dead, who’s doing who or whatever.”

“Then why are you here, Young Noble?” He couldn’t help but ask.

“Because someone had crossed the line, extending their reach to the nine worlds.” Li Qiye said.

“Impossible, divine beasts rarely leave our world, you know of our sealed state.” He said.

“That doesn’t include the nine grand ones, Skykiller and Phoenix Queen.” Li Qiye smiled.

“They have passed away long ago.” He smiled wryly.

“Since I’m here, the truth will be revealed. I can capture all nine divine beasts and tear apart their mind. I can obliterate all of Divine Firmament as well, leaving no place to hide.” Li Qiye said.

He became as pale as a ghost upon hearing this.

“But, I prefer to hear stories instead of getting my hands bloodied.” Li Qiye said: “Now, will you tell me who is alive and who is dead?”

“Well...” He gritted his teeth and said: “I am positive that His Majesty wasn’t killed by someone else.”
