Chapter 6698: We Do Not Wish To Oppose You
“Still inferior to you, it seems.” Taichu said sentimentally.
“Yes, your master has a better chance.” Li Qiye nodded.
“So I am overconfident.” Taichu said.
“You have a long path ahead of you.” Li Qiye said.
“This is the only chance to fight you since you won’t wait for me after this.” Taichu said.
“That is true, the path is mine and I wait for no one.” Li Qiye said.
“Just like my master. My only chance is today.” Taichu said.
“Correct.” Li Qiye nodded.
“What chance do I have of killing you, Sacred Teacher?” Taichu asked.
“None.” Li Qiye shook his head.
“I believe it is thirty percent.” Taichu said: “If the will pierces you.”
“Anything is possible.” Li Qiye nodded.
“That’s good enough for me. After all, only the high heaven or my master can kill you.” Taichu laughed: “I will try my best today.”
“It’s here, if your dao heart can control it well enough to kill me, it means your dao heart is firmer than mine.” Li Qiye said.
“I hope that this will happen. Of course, the opposite is just fine.” Taichu smiled.
“Worthy of being his disciple.” Li Qiye said.
“Sacred Teacher, I was born to become an immortal and kill you, just like how you and Master wish to kill the high heaven.” Taichu said.
“That’s just your master, we are not on the same path. Just know that once this starts, there’s no turning back.” Li Qiye said.
“Yes, I do not plan to leave here alive if I can’t kill you.” Taichu said.
Everyone watched with bated breath. Both combatants seemed not to be in a hurry.
“Crazy.” Bao Pu murmured.
Both he and the ghost pursued something different than Taichu. They wanted to become stronger and live longer regardless of the price. They truly feared death and wouldn’t have taken this opportunity to fight Li Qiye.
They exchanged glances and quietly left. After all, the timing was gone and the battle no longer had anything to do with them. They didn’t belong to either camp, not even Taichu’s.
It was time to hibernate and live a borrowed life. They just needed to outlast everyone else and emerge as the dominant force in the future.
“Leaving already?” However, someone blocked their way.
They saw Desolate Ancestor leaving Lord of Life and Death exposed. However, no one else dared to ambush her.
“Desolate Ancestor.” Both feared her.
“You two deserve death.” She uttered calmly, freezing both immortals.
They needed more time to digest the two primordial immortals’ flesh and blood. This was not the time to die.
“We do not wish to oppose you.” The ghost bowed.
“Not me, but you two have proven yourselves to be Three Immortals’ enemies.” She said.
“You misread our intent. I only wish to live reclusively and care not for mundane matters.” Bao Pu said, ready to surrender if necessary to live.
“Your dao heart is broken. Wanting to devour this world is only a matter of time.” She said: “Fallen immortals must die.”
Both felt a chill down their neck due to her saber.
“If you do not trust us, we can swear.” Bao Pu said.
Nothing good could come out of fighting her since they weren’t in their best state. Making a promise was fine.
“Unfortunately, this is not an option. There is no bottom for a broken dao heart. The promise will not last forever.” She shook her head.
“That’s rather insulting.” Bao Pu and the ghost’s expression soured.
Although they were far from virtuous, immortals’ promises were worth their weight in gold. This was still the final line for fallen overlords and immortals.
“Promises are as light as feathers for those who can ambush masters and slay disciples, going as far as killing a spouse.” She shook her head.
