Chapter 6031: Goodbye
Chapter 6031: Goodbye
“There is no way to meet or be together again?” The middle-aged man pondered briefly before asking in a soft tone.
“Not only will you lose your connection, you will also lose everything currently. You will no longer be a brilliant existence and she will cease to be a peerless goddess. Your karma and fortunes are exchanged for your lives in this case. Even if you two find yourselves living in the same village until death from old age or sickness, you will become nothing more than strangers.” Li Qiye elaborated.
“We can’t fall in love no matter what.” He murmured.
“Yes, you will love someone else, the same with her. Your sincere karmic love is the payment.” Li Qiye said.
“Then what’s the point?” He murmured.
Their love was strong enough for either to go against the heaven. This sincerity was more valuable than anything in the world. Was it worth exchanging it for another chance at life?
Either one had the potential to stand at the apex even in death. Becoming karmically severed meant they would no longer know each other, let alone care.
“Nothing but an empty void where you used to be in each other’s heart.” Li Qiye said.
“This is the only way?” He sat back down and asked.
“It is the only thing you can exchange.” Li Qiye smiled.
“What would it take to revive her and still maintain her memories?” He stared at the coffin.
“As I’ve said, you have nothing else worth exchanging for this particular karmic connection. And are you sure you wish to be so cruel as to let her experience the same pain that drove you to make this decision?” Li Qiye said: “The pain was too much to endure, that’s why you did whatever you could to end it. Thus, don’t subject her to this when you love her so much.”
He trembled for a bit before replying: “You’re right, Sir.”
Having said that, he took a deep breath and gritted his teeth: “I agree.”
“Good, this is your only path other than being killed by me.” Li Qiye said.
Despite being historically great, he kneeled before Li Qiye and said: “I’m afraid I cannot repay the favor, Sir. Thank you.”
He kowtowed three times afterward.
“Let’s begin then.” Li Qiyet let out a sigh.
“Sir, may I see her one more time?” He couldn’t avert his gaze from the coffin.
Li Qiye paused for a moment before agreeing: “Fate brought us together so I can do that much.”
“Boom!” He summoned his primordial tree to suppress the curse within the coffin again. It howled and resisted to no avail.
“Buzz.” The power of the tribulation was removed from the woman, revealing her true appearance.
A fairy too beautiful to be described with words. It would make others question reality - how could someone like her exist? She certainly didn’t belong in the mortal realm.
He came closer to embrace his beloved wife, pressing his cheek against hers. Tears streamed down his face as he took a closer look, attempting to imprint her image into his mind.
“This is it, my wife.” His voice trembled as he said his last words to her: “Henceforth, you are no longer my wife and I, your husband. I hope you will take good care of yourself in the future.”
He gently caressed her cheek only to find it moist with his tears.
“My wife…” He whispered one last time as he carried her back to the coffin and gently placed her inside.
He then sat back down and took a deep breath: “Go for it, Sir.”
“I shall take you two’s karma and from now on, the two of you will no longer exist. Moreover, I will banish both and you won’t return in the same era. Perhaps she’ll be born again a million years after your death. If you two somehow find yourselves in the same place, you will forever be strangers, a karmic connection will never form due to your unforgivable sin.” Li Qiye said.
“I accept. Sir, it was an honor to meet you.” He bowed his head.
“Very well.” Li Qiye’s eyes gleamed brightly as his hand pierced the man’s body with lightning speed.
The man exuded bright rays as his cultivation, memories, and fortunes were being condensed into karma in the form of a semi-circle.
“Ahh!” He screamed as Li Qiye forcefully seized it with his primordial power and removed everything.
With them gone, his outline started changing - no longer being the charismatic and attractive man, only a slightly handsome mortal.
“Bam!” He fell to the ground with his eyes closed, seemingly dead.
Li Qiye sighed after taking one glance at him before focusing again: “Disperse!”
“Whoosh!” The branches of his primordial tree descended and drilled into the woman. The primordial light invaded and attacked the suppressed curse inside her. It tried to explode and run but this was proven futile.
“Rumble!” A tribulation descended from above like the rain. Countless bolts tried to kill Li Qiye but the tree protected him from harm.
Eventually, his light burned all traces of the curse, leaving her as a regular living being again.
