"Simple. I'm quite interested in the legendary tale that's about to unfold."

In response to Yuan Shan's confusion, Fu Qian offered an unfathomable smile.

"Didn't you hear me wish them luck? Do you doubt my sincerity?"

"It doesn't surprise me at all that you just want to watch the spectacle unfold, regardless of how big the mess gets."

Yuan Shan shook her head, frowning at him.

"I just wanted to remind you of your own situation. You might want to reconsider whether you actually have the time to be a spectator."

"Don't worry."

Chief Yuan's concern was genuine, so Fu Qian showed no impatience.

The next moment, he turned his hand over to reveal a pale yellow sticky note.

This was...

Yuan Shan took it, her brow furrowing as she read the contents.

"It's from our good friend Ross's pocket. Clearly, compared to playing the slots, he's far more interested in the casino staff's shift schedules. His notes are quite comprehensive, too."

Fu Qian took the note back and gestured for Yuan Shan to follow.

"Judging by their efficiency, I doubt they'll wait much longer before making their move."

"Compared to a tale about some guy striking it rich overnight in his red underwear, I'd much rather see Casino City make news that actually suits its atmosphere. So, I'll try my best not to disturb them."

...

In Yuan Shan's silence, the two of them strolled right past Ross at a leisurely, steady pace.

Ross subconsciously tracked their passing figures for a moment before looking away. Fumbling a sticky note from his pocket, he jotted down a number on it.

"As you wish. But what are we doing now? Going to meet the other people on Moxie's list?"

Realizing that Fu Qian had returned the note precisely to minimize interference with their operation, Yuan Shan sighed helplessly and asked for the newly appointed Tier 2's next plan.

They couldn't just sit here playing cards while waiting for the show to start, right?

"Although Moglin and his group are likely just washouts who don't know much, it wouldn't hurt to interact with them a bit more."

"Makes sense. But before that, I think there's someone far more worthwhile to approach."

Fu Qian listened very seriously, then ultimately rejected her suggestion.

"Who?"

Even though her proposal had been vetoed, Chief Yuan was clearly not a petty person. Her attention instantly shifted to Fu Qian's suggestion.

"The soon-to-be victim."

Fu Qian gestured toward a spot upstairs.

...

"You want to go see the casino boss?"

Yuan Shan instantly grasped his meaning, but his motive completely escaped her.

"What's the point? Are you planning to drop a subtle hint so he puts his guard up, just to make the whole spectacle even more chaotic?"

Given his usual track record, her immediate reaction was that his compulsion to watch the world burn was acting up again.

"That's actually a great idea. Your mind is finally starting to loosen up!"

To her surprise, Fu Qian actually lowered his head to ponder it for a moment before offering her a rather gratifying compliment.

"I'll take that into consideration in a bit."

...

Realizing she had guessed wrong, Yuan Shan grew even more confused, unable to think of what else he could possibly be planning.

This curiosity successfully spurred her sense of civic duty—which manifested half a minute later as she followed Fu Qian straight into an office.

To be exact, they entered it together within a dream.

This time, her companion hadn't even waited for them to arrive before shrouding everything in the dreamscape once again.

"Hello there, Mr. Garcia."

In Yuan Shan's field of vision, her partner marched right up without a shred of politeness and greeted the man whose back was turned to them.

The man had been quietly observing the casino floor through the glass window in front of him, surveying it like a king overlooking his kingdom.

Unsurprisingly, the sudden greeting gave the casino king quite a shock.

As for how Fu Qian knew the man's name, Yuan Shan wasn't surprised in the slightest.

The casino boss was clearly dedicated to his image—the door to this office literally bore a plaque reading: "Mr. Garcia's Room."

"Who are you?"

Two uninvited guests wandering in like entering an unpopulated realm was obviously a rather terrifying situation.

But perhaps due to a home-turf advantage, Mr. Garcia appeared fairly composed. He even stepped forward and took a seat across the desk from Fu Qian.

Though his expression was grave as he sized up the two visitors, he showed no excessive panic.

At the same time, his hand slipped beneath the desk and covertly pressed a hidden switch.

"Glad you asked. Federal Gaming Commission, Tier 2 clerk."

Taking all of this in, Fu Qian didn't stop the maneuver. He just blinked and answered fluently.

Naturally, his perfect composure didn't change the sheer absurdity of his claim.

"And this is my assistant."

A moment later, he even gestured behind him.

...

She clearly didn't appreciate the fabricated identity, but it seemed she really was stuck playing the role of his assistant right now.

Yuan Shan secretly gritted her teeth, but she played along anyway, flashing a sweet, gentle smile.

"...The Committee's work really is becoming more enviable by the day."

Though his mind was spinning from Fu Qian's nonsense, Garcia gave Yuan Shan a deep look and still offered a polite compliment.

"So, to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?"

"Oh, we certainly have some business. First of all, point one."

As he spoke, Fu Qian actually raised a finger and pointed.

"You can stop wasting your energy on that button under your desk. I severed the wires long ago. They can't hear you."

"...Anything else?"

Garcia's body went stiff. A moment later, he actually adjusted his posture and leaned back in his chair.

"Point two: the same goes for the wireless communicator in your pocket."

Fu Qian continued his earnest lesson.

"Right now, not a single bit of information can leave this room through any means. So you might as well sit up straight and focus on answering my questions."

...

This time, Garcia remained stiff for much longer. Once he finally regained his mobility, he truly did sit up straight.

At the same time, he pulled an object from his pocket and tossed it onto the desk as a display of cooperation—and indignation.

"Who exactly are you?"

After doing all of that, he asked the question coldly.

"It's Q&A time."

Unfortunately, this unflappable business elite clearly didn't realize what kind of villain he was up against.

Fu Qian shook his head and bluntly reminded the man of his current priority.

"Is there anything special inside your vault?"

...

It was obvious that the word "vault" struck a nerve with Garcia, but he only gritted his teeth for a few seconds before being forced to yield.

"All the gambling funds from both casinos—"

"Not special enough. Try again."

Fu Qian cut him off.

All that money wasn't special enough?

"There are also some Items kept on behalf of VIPs."

Though in disbelief, Garcia's mind instantly went into overdrive under the pressure of the harsh critique.

"The special ones among them."

Fu Qian's expression didn't change.

"I'm sure that no matter how important the VIP is, you wouldn't allow anything you haven't personally inspected to be stored in there."

...

This time, Garcia only held out for two seconds.

"There is indeed one thing that struck me as special: a segment of finger bone."
