Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1487 - 1528: Cannot Be Separated
Amelia Foster observed that her daughter’s condition seemed to have slightly improved. Although she breathed a sigh of relief, since Jeremiah May was nearby, Amelia felt uneasy. "Sir, I’m sorry, Nan Nan is naïve; she was just uncomfortable, so she grabbed your hand."
Jeremiah May replied indifferently, "I know." The little girl’s grip was not as strong as before, but she still didn’t let go.
Amelia Foster didn’t know what else to say, so she simply took out her handkerchief to wipe her daughter’s sweat. The little girl was already drenched in sweat, with her forehead wet. Amelia carefully wiped the sweat from her daughter’s face and forehead, especially gingerly wiping around the scar on her daughter’s forehead.
As Amelia wiped the scar, Jeremiah May’s gaze unwittingly fell on that scar again.
"How did she get that scar?" he abruptly asked.
"Huh?" Amelia was taken aback and quickly responded, "She... accidentally fell off the hillside and hit her head." Falling off the hillside was what she had heard from villagers discussing with the foster mother who lost her child. The foster mother had told the villagers and the doctor, so Amelia just used the same explanation.
"Why didn’t you take better care of her?" Even Jeremiah May himself hadn’t realized the accusatory tone in his voice.
Amelia Foster’s expression dimmed for a moment, thinking of her miscarried, unborn daughter, "Yes, I didn’t take good care of her."
Meanwhile, the little girl in Amelia’s arms seemed to understand something and suddenly said, "It’s Nan Nan’s fault... Nan Nan was naughty... Nan Nan will be well-behaved from now on..."
Amelia’s eyes reddened, "Nan Nan is very good, Nan Nan has always been very good... very good..."
When the car arrived at the Hospital, the little girl seemed the same as usual. However, Amelia still registered her daughter for an emergency appointment, planning to let the doctor have a look. After all, when her daughter had fallen ill earlier, it was indeed frightening.
During this time though, the little girl refused to let go of Jeremiah May’s hand, even when it was time for the doctor to examine her. That tiny hand clung even more tightly to Jeremiah May’s hand, seemingly gripping harder at the sight of the doctor.
Amelia Foster almost cooed, "Nan Nan, let go, Doctor Uncle needs to check you up."
But the little girl insisted on holding on.
It’s impossible to see the doctor like this!
The doctor beside them asked, "Are you ready? To see the doctor, bring the child closer."
Amelia Foster, in a panic, forcibly pulled her daughter’s hand away from Jeremiah May’s, intending to hold her closer to the doctor for the examination.
Who knew that in doing so, the little girl suddenly burst into tears, wailing, "Pain... it hurts..."
Even her complexion began to pale again, and her small body started convulsing once more.
Amelia Foster desperately held down her daughter, urgently looking at the doctor, "Doctor... what’s happening to this child?"
The doctor, seeing this, quickly conducted some preliminary examinations but couldn’t immediately determine what the symptoms were. He just issued a bunch of test orders, urging them to hurry and get some blood work done.
