Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1479 - 1520: Watching by the Window
It was the weekend the next day, Clarence Xenos finished his homework and helped Amelia Foster clean the courtyard, while little Xenos was behind, continuing her leaf-picking game. Due to the presence of Clarence, the little girl seemed more lively than usual. Although she appeared wooden as she picked leaves, sometimes she handed them to Clarence instead of putting them in the trash can, gazing at him with her dark eyes, as if seeking praise.
Clarence naturally put on the appearance of a good brother, lavishly praising his sister. Using the discarded little paper scraps scattered in the courtyard, he crafted a simple ring, filled it with various leaves, making a leaf crown instead of a flower one, and placed it on her head.
The little girl was clearly very happy; she couldn’t help but giggle. Then she raised her arms, and said to Clarence, "Brother... hug..."
This excited Clarence, and he shouted to his mother, "Mom, Sister is asking me to hug her!" Knowing that such behavior was rare for the little girl.
However, for an 8-year-old child, lifting a five-year-old was quite a strenuous task, but still, Clarence mustered all his strength, flushed red, and lifted the little girl up in one go.
Amelia Foster observed this scene with a smile on her face, pleased to see her son and adoptive daughter’s relationship improving. She just reminded him, "Be careful, don’t drop your sister."
"I know," Clarence replied earnestly, holding his sister tightly.
The little girl wrapped her arms around Clarence’s neck and kissed his cheek quite forcefully a few times, making Clarence more unwilling to let go.
Instantly, the sound of children laughing filled the courtyard.
Meanwhile, at one of the windows on the third floor of the main house not far away, a figure stood, overlooking the courtyard scene from above. In his cold eyes, a hint of inexplicable displeasure flickered, and his brows furrowed slightly unconsciously.
"Jeremiah, what are you looking at?" asked a boy around the same age as Jeremiah May standing beside him. As he spoke, he walked over to the window to look outside as well.
"Nothing," Jeremiah May said calmly, withdrawing his gaze.
"Hey, when did your family get kids?" asked the boy, David Walker. He was Jeremiah May’s classmate; in F City, the Walker family was quite renowned. After having three daughters consecutively, Mr. Walker finally had a son in his old age, naturally treating his only son as a treasure. Just hearing David Walker’s name reveals how much hope there was for him to be fortunate for life.
Unfortunately, David Walker constantly complained about his name, thinking it sounded too feminine and had too many flaws. Every time someone heard his name, David Walker felt an impulse to change it immediately.
Only Jeremiah May, when hearing his name, showed no expression at all, as if the name was as ordinary as David Zimmerman. Because of this, he earned David Walker’s absolute liking, and subsequently, David Walker often visited the May Family whenever he had spare time.
