Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1384 - 1423: Who Is Innocent?
Although there aren’t any cameras at the entrance of the lounge, there are still some in the crew’s corridors and halls, making it quite easy to estimate the timeline of Mabel Quinn’s actions.
Suddenly, if anyone present had any suspicion towards Mabel because of Alessia Quinn’s words, all those doubts were now dispelled. Just as something happened, she called her husband, who was watching everything through the video call; if anything secretive could occur then, it truly would be a miracle.
"It’s a misunderstanding, this is a misunderstanding. Of course, Writer Quinn couldn’t possibly be involved in any secretive matters with Mr. Shaw," the director hurriedly said.
"Yes, a misunderstanding!" some other staff members quickly added.
Alessia never expected that Mabel would continuously keep a video call open, using such a method to clear suspicions. Damn, in this sort of situation, shouldn’t Mabel be doing everything to prevent Kyle Kinston from knowing? Yet, why did Mabel do the exact opposite!
Mabel then spoke to Kyle, "Kyle, I’ll handle things here first, and talk to you later."
"Okay," Kyle replied, "I’ll be rushing back to J City tonight."
Only then did the two end their video call, and many people nearby sighed in relief. Thankfully, nothing happened; otherwise, if Elder Kinston were angered, who knows what could happen.
Mabel’s gaze finally shifted to the person held by the bodyguards, saying, "I’m quite interested in asking this ’crew member’ why you told me to come to the lounge, saying Atlas Shaw was looking for me when, in fact, he hadn’t sent for me at all. Atlas wasn’t feeling well at the time, so I wanted to leave the room immediately to get help, but the door was locked. Now that you’re here to ’unlock’ it, it seems you were the one who locked it earlier, right? Don’t you understand that locking the door could delay medical assistance? If something had really happened to Mr. Shaw, you would be held criminally responsible!"
Upon hearing about criminal responsibility, the person panicked, "No... that’s not it, I... I didn’t know about this, I... I was just following orders..."
"Following orders? Whose orders?" Mabel pressed.
The person seemed to suddenly realize they had misspoken and hurriedly shut up, yet their gaze couldn’t help but dart towards Alessia, clearly a pleading look.
Everyone’s attention was now on this person, how could they not notice the subtle eye movement? Instantly, everyone also looked towards Alessia. At this moment, anyone could sense that this person was related to Alessia.
Alessia felt panic inside, yet forced herself to remain calm as she said, "It’s just locking a door, isn’t it? It’s not a big deal, besides, this person at the door just said an anonymous person gave them the key and money to simply open the door. They might not be the one who locked it."
On the surface, these words were meant for Mabel and everyone to hear, but in reality, they were meant for the person who locked the door.
But before that person could breathe a sigh of relief, Mabel already said, "Then might I ask when did this person become a member of our crew? I don’t think he is yet, and this uniform, I wonder how he got it. Was it also given by the anonymous person?"
