Chapter 166: Chapter 158: The Pure Zombie’s Strictest Father

Seeing the unlocked wheels on the barricades, Wang Dingbei’s eyes lit up!

"You mean... we push the metal barricades out with us to set up defenses on the fly? Keep the zombies from getting close... Interesting. Did you plan this all along?"

When it came to dealing with zombies, Wang Dingbei had to hand it to Yu Dong. ’The man is full of ideas!’

"He taught me."

Yu Dong pointed at Sun Shan, who was inspecting the defensive line.

The mobile metal anti-riot barricades Sun Shan had recommended were stored in the warehouse. When needed, they could be rolled over and linked together. Lock the wheels, and you could instantly erect a defensive line.

’So... if we push the barricades as we go, can’t we set up a defensive structure anywhere, anytime? A straight line, a triangle, a square, even a polygon?’

The scale of the defense could also be flexible. If they wanted a larger perimeter, they’d push out more barricades. For a smaller one, they’d use fewer. One person could handle a 6-meter-long section, and with a few people working together, they could stomp on the wheel brakes to lock them in place.

"And besides the barricades... we have two other secret weapons for fighting outside."

"Oh? Do tell."

Wang Dingbei watched as Yu Dong described his anti-zombie tactics... The man was practically glowing!

’He really has some of the same flair I had in my youth.’

"A 30-ton tracked excavator. On the offensive, it can flatten zombies. On the defensive, it can dig trenches on the spot. Its sheer size can cover our retreat. If we find supplies we want, we can just scoop them into the bucket and bring them back."

Yu Dong had specifically asked Sun Shan to rent and bring over two large construction excavators, precisely for use after the apocalypse.

"Interesting. What else?"

"Of course. Look around A Port. Besides shipping containers, what’s the most common thing here?"

"Cargo trucks?"

"Exactly. And forklifts! All of them are useful. That stuff is heavy. A forklift can carry a pallet of bricks to build a quick fortification. Turn a truck sideways, and it’s a wall! Zombies can’t crawl under them. Unless they’re strong enough to flip a truck, but if we’re dealing with a horde of that level... we’d be better off starting the ship and getting out of the port."

Officer Wang listened to Yu Dong’s various ingenious ideas, marveling at how he utilized the port’s existing resources to their absolute limit.

"So, Officer Wang? What do you think?"

"It’s passable."

Wang Dingbei turned his head away slightly and lit a cigarette, but the corner of his mouth couldn’t help but curl into a smile.

While everyone was resting, a modified drone with a loudspeaker flew out from over their heads.

It flew directly over an open area in B Port and hovered. The large, modified speaker underneath began blasting the English song "Zombie," the immense sound vibrating throughout all of B Port.

Instantly, zombies from all corners and offices in B Port came running out. About a hundred of them gathered in the open area, roaring incessantly.

Just then, an FPV airdrop drone flew over, carrying two Molotov cocktails underneath.

The claw released.

Two large Molotovs dropped from the sky into the zombie horde...

BOOM! BOOM!

Shen Xinyi took the returning FPV drone and reattached two more Molotov cocktails to its claw.

Liu Ye’ye piloted it back over to B Port.

BOOM! BOOM!

Amidst the deafening sound of "Zombie," the zombies were burned to heaps of ash, collapsing to the ground...

At that moment, everyone back in A Port was stunned. They looked at Liu Ye’ye, then back toward B Port.

The ten members of the combat team, who had just been practicing spearing zombies, felt the little bit of accomplishment they had painstakingly built up evaporate completely.

"So *that’s* how you’re supposed to kill zombies?"

"Drones... Isn’t that just bullying the zombies?"

"No! It’s not like this in the zombie movies! We’re supposed to charge in, get suddenly surrounded, then have to sacrifice someone to escape! The darkness of human nature erupts, and only after abandoning a teammate can the rest of the group get away..."

"You’ve been watching too many American zombie movies. That stuff will lower your IQ. I recommend you read some apocalyptic power fantasies..." Zhao Wenjie held out his phone, showing off the premium apocalyptic novels he had cached locally.

*Frozen Apocalypse: I Got an Infinite Storage Space at the Start*, *Scorching Apocalypse: My Shelter Has Infinite Upgrades*, *Apocalypse: I Can Control Zombies After Gaining Immunity*...

The ten combat team members just stared at Zhao Wenjie: ?

Yu Dong: ???

"Wen Jie, reel it in."

Yu Dong felt that not only would the books Zhao Wenjie read fail to help him survive the apocalypse, but they might even hasten his death...

The female officer, Jing Yanwei, walked over, her face full of admiration as she looked at the results of the battle in B Port.

"With such a brilliant tactic, why didn’t you use it just now?"

Yu Dong glanced at the zombies they had just dealt with on the ground, his expression full of disdain.

"These zombies in front of the barricades weren’t worthy. Besides, it was good practice for everyone. The truth is, when we’re fully armed and equipped, the only thing we lack when facing zombies is courage. As long as you have the guts to thrust your spear at a zombie, you can survive."

Hearing this, Yu Chengfei nodded in agreement.

"Exactly. Long practice with a spear builds a solid foundation, but the true test is staying calm in battle. As long as we don’t panic, if we form a spear phalanx and push forward, even a horde several times larger won’t be able to break our formation."

In fact, many people present didn’t quite understand why Yu Dong had become the leader. He was always overriding Officer Wang, and even the military officer, Lin Mo, seemed to back him.

Now, seeing Yu Dong’s methods for dealing with zombies... they understood.

’This guy has genuinely studied zombies. He doesn’t just make assumptions.’

"If everyone’s rested, let’s move out. We’re going to clear B Port. Our precious oil depot is inside."

The 300 tons of gasoline and 300 tons of diesel that Yu Dong’s group had purchased seemed like a lot when stacked in the warehouse, but in reality... when it came to a true oil reserve, they had to look to the massive oil tanks in B Port.

That was the fueling station for all passing cruise ships and cargo vessels. Its storage capacity was far greater than their own.

If they could get their hands on it, Zhou could produce more chemical weapons.

Incendiary bombs were the key weapon Yu Dong planned to use against the zombies in this life. They were quiet and highly damaging, but also consumed a lot of fuel. They needed to secure a massive amount of oil.

Under Yu Dong’s lead, the group pushed aside a section of the barricade line, rolling the metal barriers out to form a simple, semi-circular formation around them.

ROAR!!!

Hearing the commotion, three zombies that had been wandering nearby charged toward them.

Their bodies slammed hard against the barricade’s spikes, turning them into living targets...

SHLICK! SHLICK! SHLICK!

Three spears dispatched three zombies.

A few of them used their spears to push the zombies off the spikes, tossing the bodies aside where they wouldn’t be in the way before continuing their advance toward B Port.

After they left, Sun Shan directed a crane operator to lift a shipping container and fill the gap in the defensive line where they had just removed the barricades.

In this life, Yu Dong was gradually molding Sun Shan into A Port’s defense commander.

RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE~

Outside A Port, two 30-ton tracked excavators started up with a deafening roar!

They flanked the mobile barricade formation, providing cover as it advanced.

Soon, the noise from the excavators attracted more zombies, which Yu Dong’s group easily pinned against the barricades and killed.

A group of about ten zombies charged at one of the excavators, only to be swept sideways into a wall by its lowered bucket. They burst on impact!

The entire group was sliced in half.

The team walked over and finished them off with their spears.

THWIP THWIP THWIP~

As they pushed forward, Crossbow Arrows shot out from within the barricade formation. Yu Dong and Yang Ze used their Death God Repeating Crossbows to reap the lives of the surrounding zombies.

Just like that, Yu Dong led the group on a swift and brutal advance, like a band of post-apocalyptic marauders!

The many people who had fought their way out with Yu Dong were dumbfounded.

"I thought the plan today was just to clear out the zombies in A Port? How did we end up... pushing out?"

"Pushing out is one thing, but how come I feel like I haven’t even mastered my spear technique yet, and we’re already slaughtering zombies like pigs..."

"What on earth did Brother Yu go through? How is he so skilled at this?"

Yu Dong watched as the surrounding zombies were eliminated one by one, completely unable to lay a single finger on them. The corner of his mouth couldn’t help but curl up.

In this life, he no longer feared the zombies.

During this period before the zombies evolved, he was going to be the strictest father these unevolved zombies had ever known!

’Fear is just a symptom of insufficient firepower!’

In this life, Yu Dong had people, crossbows, a large supply of Molotov cocktails, and heavy machinery.

How could he possibly lose!?
