Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 3046: White Sage

The Emperor Supreme didn’t say much.

Within seconds, the chamber around them simply dissolved, and Emery felt the unmistakable sensation of being moved somewhere else entirely. There was no waypoint, no teleportation gate, and no spatial passage that he could recognize; one moment he was standing in the meeting chamber, and the next, he had been relocated as effortlessly as a thought moving from one place to another.

The chamber was replaced by a vast, empty white space that stretched endlessly in every direction.

Only Emery, the White Sage, the five other Supremes, and Warwick, the Wolf Clan representative, remained.

Everyone else had simply disappeared.

Not a single person objected.

The authority behind the White Sage’s decision seemed absolute. At the same time, seven of the twelve races were present, while two more had already shown their support.

A moment later, the Sage casually summoned a plain chair into existence and settled into it with the unhurried ease of an old man sitting down on his own porch.

He smiled gently, his gaze slowly sweeping across everyone gathered.

Only Kaelgor still looked visibly annoyed. The other Supremes had already settled into a calmer state, with Ronan appearing the most relaxed of them all. His earlier fury had completely disappeared, replaced by a faint, satisfied smile as if he’d already won the argument.

The White Sage noticed it as well.

His gaze moved first to Ronan, then to Kaelgor, and he released a slow sigh.

"If we keep settling our disagreements through our savage instincts, then what exactly was the point of forming this Alliance in the first place?"

Neither Supreme argued.

Both simply lowered their heads in silence.

The Sage continued, calmly addressing Kaelgor’s temper and then Ronan’s habit of deliberately provoking people until they had no choice but to respond. His tone carried the patient disappointment of a parent lecturing two children who were both old enough to know better.

Surprisingly, neither Supreme offered a rebuttal.

The White Sage’s attention eventually shifted toward Emery, and a faint smile appeared.

"It seems that wherever you go, something interesting happens."

Kaelgor shifted, looking as though he was about to raise an objection.

The White Sage silenced him with nothing more than a raised hand.

"I’ve familiarized myself with the situation."

His voice remained calm, but there was an unmistakable finality behind it.

"I hope you’ll all accept my judgment on this."

What followed happened quickly, with the White Sage making one decision after another.

On the matter of Emery himself, the Sage partly acknowledged Kaelgor’s underlying concern. Emery certainly deserved recognition for his contributions, but giving him a permanent share of clones and gene serum made little practical sense when his faction had very few halfbloods who could actually use them. Products sitting unused would benefit no one.

Instead, to Emery’s surprise, the Sage proposed a solution that closely matched his own intentions, almost as if he had read Emery’s mind.

He granted the Zodiac faction and the Insectoid race a permanent one-percent share each.

The decision seemed simple on the surface, but its implications were enormous. It involved Alduin, the lone Supreme who had separated himself from the Dragon Clan, as well as the newly recognized Insectoid race. Granting both factions a permanent share represented a significant shift in the Alliance’s political direction.

Surprisingly, no one objected.

Even the Nine Heaven Supreme remained silent, apparently accepting the decision without complaint. Emery realized that this was likely an issue the Alliance had been struggling with for some time, and the White Sage had finally found a way to settle it.

For Emery’s own compensation, the Sage chose a different approach.

Rather than granting him an ongoing share, he awarded Emery ten years’ worth of the same one-percent allotment as a single payment in advance.

That amounted to twenty Grand Magus-level clone bodies and fifty portions of the Superior Gene Elixir.

Half of the reward would come from the Dragon Clans’ existing allocation, while the remaining half would be taken from the facility’s additional production.

Once again, the Nine Heaven Supreme remained silent and raised no objection.

The White Sage turned toward Emery.

"Would this be acceptable?"

Emery considered the matter for a moment before bowing respectfully.

"Thank you, Senior. I gladly accept."

He understood that Ronan’s original demand for a three-percent share had never been a realistic claim. It had simply been Ronan’s way of forcing the Alliance to negotiate.

In truth, receiving a permanent three-percent share would probably have created more trouble than it was worth for both Emery and his faction.

There was one problem.

These weren’t actually gifts.

Twenty Grand Magus-level clone bodies and fifty portions of the Superior Gene Elixir would cost him more than fifty billion spirit stones, and Emery would need to pay for them.

He doesn’t have that kind of money.

Even if he had it, he wouldn’t want to spend such a fortune on clone bodies and gene elixirs.

His only realistic option would be to auction the allocation to the other halfblood races and let those willing to pay take advantage of it.

The thought had barely crossed his mind when Ronan grinned, as though he had already read it.

The exchange startled Emery.

So this outcome had been part of Ronan’s plan all along?

"Now." The Sage’s attention shifted again. "As for the matter of the Wolf Clan..."

He turned toward Warwick, who had clearly been waiting anxiously for his judgment.

"The Wolf Clan has indeed been treated unfairly in this matter. However, without a Supreme among your ranks, your race has also been given fewer responsibilities within the Alliance. Therefore, my proposal is this: your share of the Superior Gene Elixir will increase by two percent, but your share of the clone bodies will remain unchanged."

Warwick listened carefully.

"This additional allocation is intended to support the growth of higher-grade bloodlines within your race," the Sage continued. "As for the full five-percent share you requested, that can be granted once a Supreme emerges from the Wolf Clan."

Warwick’s expression brightened considerably. He immediately bowed his head.

"Thank you, Senior. The Wolf Clan accepts."

The Sage, however, was not finished.

"There is one condition."

Warwick’s expression became serious again.

"Please, Senior. State your terms."

"To ensure that your clan does not waste this opportunity, I wish the Wolf Clan to complete its Ancestor Rite within thirty years."

The words clearly caught Warwick off guard.

He remained silent for several moments, evidently weighing the significance of the demand. Emery watched his expression carefully. Whatever this Ancestor Rite was, it was clearly something far more important than an ordinary clan ceremony.

After some consideration, Warwick finally bowed.

"The Wolf Clan accepts."

Emery knew very little about the Ancestor Rite. He had heard that it was an ancient ritual connected to the Wolf Gods, but he had never learned what the rite actually involved. Judging by Warwick’s reaction, however, it was clearly something of enormous significance to the Wolf Clan.

The White Sage turned his attention toward the remaining Supremes and representatives, calmly waiting to see if anyone intended to object.

No one spoke.

"Is there anything else?"

For several seconds, silence filled the white space.

Then Kaelgor stepped forward.

"I have one request, Senior."

Emery immediately recognized the look in his eyes.

"I hope you will allow my challenge to continue."

Emery couldn’t help being surprised. The Raging Sun Supreme still wanted to fight.

The White Sage turned toward Ronan.

The Serpent Supreme simply gave a casual nod.

"I accept."
