Earth's Greatest Magus

All four young Earth warriors received the Magus Academy mark on their palms, officially becoming acolytes. It was a momentous occasion, confirming their official entry into the esteemed ranks of the academy.

With the mark came the gift of understanding, finally bridging the language barrier that had once separated them. The Romans, in particular, felt a sense of relief, knowing that they could now communicate more easily with their two companions.

Unfortunately, Ha Ron remained his stoic self, his silence speaking volumes. As for Kingrig, despite his never-ending stream of words, his speech was somewhat difficult to decipher, his words often blending together in a rapid-fire stream of consciousness. Nonetheless, his infectious energy added to the excitement of the moment.

With palpable excitement and a deep sense of honor, the group followed the graceful deputy of the academy on their tour. As they walked, they found themselves descending towards the coastline instead of ascending towards the towering mountain. The sight that greeted them was breathtaking: a vast expanse of bright blue sea stretching out towards the horizon.

Gathered at the shoreline was a bustling facility, where a dozen people were engaged in various activities. It soon became apparent that this was a transportation hub for sea creatures, expertly managed by the academy.

“The Magus Academy is situated on a continent that lies on an oceanic planet; the vast island was surrounded by the sea and rivers coursing through its veins,” explained the deputy headmaster. “These sea creatures serve as a vital means of transportation for us.”

The creatures themselves were a marvel to behold. There were turtles, slow and steady but comfortable, dolphins that darted through the water with remarkable speed, and even one resembling a butterfly with four wings. Divided into swimming and flying types, these creatures were assigned to acolytes based on their rank and abilities.

For their leisurely tour of the academy, the deputy headmaster selected a majestic stingray-like creature, large enough to comfortably carry all ten of them on its broad back. As they settled onto the creature’s smooth surface, anticipation coursed through them, eager to explore the wonders that lay ahead.

“Fly”

With a simple command filled with spirit energy, the majestic stingray gracefully lifted off the ground. Its massive wings flapped effortlessly, propelling them through the air at astonishing speed. Despite their rapid ascent, the creature’s flight was remarkably smooth, ensuring a comfortable journey for its passengers.

As they soared through the sky, they were treated to a breathtaking view of the island below, its natural beauty enhanced by the magical elements woven throughout.

The island stretched out before them, a vast expanse spanning an impressive 2000 miles. At its heart stood the towering mountain, a beacon of majesty and power. Surrounding the mountain, the landscape unfolded in a tapestry of contrasting biomes, each with its own unique characteristics and charm. Small towns and communities dotted the landscape, each nestled within its own distinct region.

As they soared over the island, the deputy headmaster pointed out the various regions that comprised its diverse landscape. To the north lay the Snow Glacier, a breathtaking expanse of snowy hills, frozen lakes, and crisp, icy air. The landscape was a serene, wintry wonderland, with the sun casting a soft, ethereal glow over the pristine snow.

In the west, they observed the Desert Plains, where golden grasslands stretched out as far as the eye could see. The wind here was relentless, whipping through the air with a fierce intensity. Dry lightning crackled across the sky, lending an electrifying energy to the arid landscape below.

To the south lay the Fiery Caves, a rugged terrain of dark, metallic rocks and bubbling magma pools. The air was thick with heat, and the glow of molten lava cast an eerie, otherworldly light upon the rocky landscape.

Finally, in the east, they encountered the Forest Springs, a lush oasis of towering trees and sparkling rivers. The air here was fresh and invigorating, filled with the soothing sounds of nature. Sunlight filtered through the dense canopy, dappling the forest floor with patches of golden light.

As they flew over these diverse regions, they observed various creatures roaming freely below. Emery sensed the presence of millions of beasts, ranging from low-tier creatures to majestic magical beasts. Each region teemed with life, showcasing the island’s rich biodiversity.

The oracle began to elucidate on the vast opportunities available to all acolytes within these regions, including the four newly joined youngsters. They could partake in hunting expeditions or gather valuable materials from the diverse biomes, which could then be sold in nearby towns for academy points.

While Emery didn’t see much value in the low-tier resources, for most acolytes, even those from the medium realm, these endeavors could prove rewarding. This was especially true for lower realm acolytes seeking to establish themselves within the academy.

Each town offered lodging, which was safeguarded by the academy, though a small fee was required for those who opted not to utilize the facilities and preferred to camp in the wilderness. In addition to lodging, each town boasted academy magus who provided security and imparted valuable lessons to the acolytes. Furthermore, there were markets and specialized facilities catering to the unique characteristics of each region.

The Glacier Town housed a Formation Center, where acolytes could hone their skills in tactical formations or crafting spells. The Spring Village boasted an Apothecary Center for those who wish to learn the art of making potions or pills. The Fiery Caves boasted a Blacksmith and Refiner Center for making weapons or artifacts. Finally, the Desert Settlements featured a Battle Arena, providing a venue for acolytes to test their combat prowess against one another.

These facilities provided ample opportunities for acolytes to grow and develop their skills, ensuring that each individual could pursue their chosen path within the academy with determination and purpose.

Emery had previously acquired some knowledge of these arrangements, and he was aware that similar principles were implemented in the other three academies as well. These changes were part of the extensive reforms spearheaded by Headmaster Altus and Dresden, meticulously prepared over decades and now being implemented with these new academy regulations.

Unlike the previous system, where first-year students were afforded only a brief one week of orientations and three months in their second year, all accepted acolytes were now granted the opportunity to reside on these continents for one full year.

However, these facilities were intended for general acolytes. For those displaying exceptional talent or those desiring to extend their stay beyond a year, their path led to the mountain situated at the heart of the four regions.
