Chapter 137 - Technique: Rock Relocation
Chapter 137: Technique: Rock Relocation
“Time for the shift!”
“The Eagle Men didn’t take action at all last night. I waited a whole night for nothing. I thought I could get some Honor.”
“I can finally go to sleep now. All I want to do is to lie down on my own bed right now…”
In the fort, similar conversations were happening all over the place.
Many soldiers had defended the settlement or the important locations outside for a night. They were exhausted, but the Eagle Men didn’t take action.
Thankfully, the Twin Dragon Mount fort had more than two hundred soldiers. There were enough personnel for a shift!
The few soldiers who just talked had just returned to the fort from outside and were ready to get some sleep.
“Wu Xiong? How is it going? You weren’t hurt in a battle against the Eagle Men, yet you accidentally fell and hit your throat against a rock when you were pooping… That joke will definitely crank everybody up…”
One of the soldiers made fun of another soldier.
“Wu… Wu…”
The soldier who was teased let out vague meaningless syllables. Obviously, his throat had been badly hurt.
“Yang Si, don’t mock him. Go fetch some black buds from the supply officer for Wu Xiong!” said a soldier who was Elite Rank-7 and a captain.
“Wu… Wu…”
When Yang Si rose, the soldier whose throat was hurt stood up and let out vague voices again.
“You want to go with him?
“That’s unnecessary. He’s just going to fetch some medicine. Hasn’t Ms. Su already written us a permit just now?”
The captain shook his head.
“Ah! The master is here!”
His expression suddenly changed at this moment, and he rose quickly.
It was because the Master, the most mysterious and formidable person of all in the eyes of the locals of the Twin Dragon Mount fort, was walking towards them.
“Nongying told me that someone in your team was hurt. Is it true?” Ji Ye asked the captain.
“Oh, that’s true… Wu Xiong accidentally hurt his throat last night and still can’t talk right now! I didn’t expect that you would care about that, Master.”
The captain led Ji Ye to the wounded soldier excitedly.
He didn’t elaborate on the reason behind the soldier’s injury. As a captain, he had to help preserve his subordinates’ dignity.
“Are you Wu Xiong?”
Ji Ye looked at the wounded soldier.
His name was Wu Xiong (bear), but he was actually a skinny man.
Upon seeing Ji Ye, this soldier’s eyes flashed, and he pointed at his throat and made gestures while letting out obscure noises.
“It seems that you’re badly wounded. Let me treat you,” Ji Ye looked at him and said with a smile.
“That’d be great, Wu Xiong! The Master is a Chosen One! It will be more than easy for him to cure you of your injury!”
The captain, as a Rank-7 Elite, had witnessed Ji Ye performing his Healing talent, so he remarked in awe and excitement.
After all, Ji Ye’s healing ability that was based on his talent was even more miraculous than regular ways of treatment. For people like him, their lives could be saved by Ji Ye if they were gravely wounded in a battle.
“Wu… Wu…”
After hearing what Ji Ye and the captain said, Wu Xiong, who was listed as an Ordinary Rank-6 soldier on Su Nongying’s Registration Book, kept pointing at his neck and shaking his head.
“Huh?”
When Ji Ye extended his hand towards his wounded throat with a smile unhurriedly, Wu Xiong finally changed his expression.
Hum!
When his hand was about a foot from Wu Xiong’s neck, the yellow light that represented “Healing” had already appeared on Ji Ye’s hand!
“…”
Wu Xiong’s pupils constricted violently.
Whoosh!
When Ji Ye’s hand almost reached his throat, Wu Xiong suddenly extended his right hand. With his fingers covered in a vague golden light, he snatched Ji Ye’s glimmering hand.
“Humph!”
Ji Ye sneered.
He suddenly turned his hand upside down and made it collide with Wu Xiong’s hand that was in the shape of a claw!
Clang!
The sound of metal hitting rock echoed.
Ji Ye’s hand was covered in a yellow light that almost seemed concrete, yet one part of the yellow light was missing as if it had been snatched away by a bird’s claw.
However, he wasn’t really hurt.
Wu Xiong, on the other hand, looked much more miserable.
It was because his fist, which was smaller than regular people’s, was contaminated by the yellow light that was spreading upward along his arm. He felt that his arm and even his clothes were turning into rocks!
Although he had fused Earth’s Boon, it didn’t mean that Ji Ye couldn’t use Earth Power anymore!
Furthermore, because he was Adept at Earth’s Boon, now that he fused the technique, he was able to corrupt the enemy and lower his agility during a collision with the enemy.
“You… What are you doing, Wu Xiong?”
What Wu Xiong did shocked the captain who was a Rank-7 Elite soldier.
“Wu Xiong, have you lost your mind?”
Yang Si’s eyes bulged, and he roared loudly!
The man, whom he called out to, sensed the changes on his arm and that he clearly didn’t win the collision against Ji Ye just now.
“Roar!”
Wu Xiong let out an inhuman roar.
Next, a green light emerged on him and purged the yellow light that represented earth power.
He then jumped to the rooftop, over the wall, and then out of the fort.
Whoosh!
Wu Xiong, covered in the green light, was so fast that he broke out of the Twin Dragon Mount fort after only several seconds like an arrow that was just shot from a bow.
Even the soldiers who were in charge of the cannons didn’t have enough time to fire at him!
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Unfortunately, his enemy was Ji Ye.
Enshrouded in a yellow light, Ji Ye blinked forward, covering more than ten meters in each step.
Even though Wu Xiong was wreathed in the green light, he wasn’t as fast as Ji Ye.
Also, Ji Ye had already refilled the earthen power in him during the latter half of the previous night. It was enough to support him in a fight for a while.
Also, Distance Reduction wasn’t the only technique in the Five Element Thunder Art that he had just got through Fusion.
After breaking out of the fort, Wu Xiong moved among the rocks while covered in the green light. He was about to charge into the wood behind the rocks.
Hum!
All of a sudden, the rock, which was even taller than an adult, shined and shivered when he stepped on it, almost throwing “Wu Xiong” to the ground.
Although he regained his balance in time thanks to his inhuman dexterity, Ji Ye was able to catch up to him when he was slowed down.
While he was running, Wu Xiong also suffered attacks from all kinds of rocks.
Some of the rocks flashed and fell abruptly towards where he was, and some of them collapsed and blocked his way while he was running.
It was Rock Relocation!
That was another technique Ji Ye obtained through the Five Element Thunder Art.
Its mechanism was actually similar to that of Distance Reduction. By remotely controlling earthen energy, the locations of the objects that were on the ground could be changed.
The only difference was that one of the techniques was moving himself, whereas the other was moving other items.
“Roar!”
Faced with such a situation, Wu Xiong roared and then leaped straight into the sky while his body was covered in the green light, hoping to jump over the rocky area in the sky.
However, as a technique, “Rock Relocation” could not only move the rocks on the ground but also send them to the sky…
Whoosh! Whoosh!
After a yellow flash, two rocks the size of a head were boosted by the earthen energy to the sky like cannonballs and hit the back of “Wu Xiong” who just took off.
Apparently, Wu Xiong’s green light wasn’t as sturdy as the yellow light on Ji Ye, so when he was hit by the flying rocks boosted by the Five Element Thunder Art, he vomited blood and fell to the ground beyond his control.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
Through Distance Reduction, Ji Ye caught up to Wu Xiong who had crashed after only two flashes.
“Roar!”
Faced with Ji Ye, Wu Xiong’s eyes were filled with brutality even though blood was flowing out of his mouth.
Whoosh!
Next, a stream of golden light suddenly darted out of Wu Xiong’s forehead towards Ji Ye who was catching up!
The golden light was like an indestructible golden sword!
Two trees on its way, which were more than one foot in diameter, had a smooth hole on their trunks, as if they had been pierced by a longsword!
However, no holes appeared on Ji Ye.
That was because when the golden light darted out of Wu Xiong’s forehead, the yellow light on Ji Ye brightened again, allowing him to move horizontally by a few feet.
