Chapter 402: Chapter 402 – Dimensional Rupture
HOKAGE TOWER
Riser kept his gaze fixed on Danzō, completely ignoring the rest of the battlefield while adjusting his focus to a single specific point on his body.
’There’s no other way... I’ll cut off his arm and send it to another dimension using Kamui.’
The Mangekyō Sharingan spun slowly, perception compressed into absolute precision while the space around Danzō’s arm began to suffer a slight distortion, almost imperceptible at first.
The air twisted.
The light warped.
The point of impact stopped following the normal rules of space.
VRRMMM
The distortion intensified abruptly, pulling Danzō’s arm directly into the dimensional rift, leaving no room for conventional reaction or strength-based defense.
’Let’s see what you’ll do... sacrifice the arm or lose Shisui’s eye.’
Danzō realized it instantly.
The realization came late.
But it came.
’I can’t believe this bastard made me choose... between the arm and the eye.’
His body did not disappear.
Unlike the previous activations of Izanagi, there was no complete rewriting of reality.
The choice was made.
The arm was torn off.
The flesh gave way beneath the distortion, being sucked into Kamui without return, taking with it every Sharingan implanted along that extension.
Blood exploded into the air.
But there was no scream.
Danzō only retreated enough to stabilize his own body, already activating regeneration in the same instant, Hashirama’s cells reacting aggressively while the tissue began reconstructing itself.
"What happened? Why didn’t he use the ability?" Tsunade kept her gaze firm, trying to fit what she had just seen into the previous pattern.
"Who knows..." Riser replied without taking his eyes off Danzō. "What matters is that now things are simpler. He only has that eye left to save himself."
Danzō took one deep breath.
Then he spoke.
"I surrender."
Riser did not answer immediately.
"What?"
"I surrender." Danzō repeated, now steadier, his body already partially regenerated. "I will be arrested and judged. I believe that is the best path. I am far too important to die here."
He turned his face slightly toward Tsunade.
"You agree, don’t you, Hokage?"
Tsunade did not answer right away, her gaze moving from Danzō to the empty space where his arm had been before, then returning to his face.
The decision came quickly.
"Yes." She spoke firmly. "He’s right. Let’s end this here, Riser. We already lost Jiraiya... we cannot lose Danzō too."
Riser did not move.
His gaze remained fixed.
’Shisui’s Sharingan... I ignored it. He never gave up. He was steering this.’
Danzō took a step forward, now completely stabilized, the regeneration already controlled, his body returning to a functional state.
"Very well." He kept his tone neutral. "Let us formalize my surrender."
His gaze returned directly to Riser.
"You, Uchiha, will withdraw." He kept his tone controlled. "This is now an internal matter of Konoha."
Riser did not respond immediately. His gaze remained fixed, analyzing Danzō without any hurry while his body stayed steady amid the rubble.
"I can withdraw." He finally spoke without changing his tone. "But before that, I think you need to return something you stole."
Riser’s arm moved simply, without exaggerated gesture, pointing directly to the right side of Danzō’s face, where the bandages concealed the remaining eye.
Danzō did not look away.
"Ridiculous." He answered without hesitation. "Leave this place."
His tone shifted slightly when he turned toward Tsunade.
"Warn him, Hokage."
"Riser, like I said—" Tsunade began, but did not finish.
Riser snapped his fingers casually, activating fire magic directly on Danzō without changing his expression, as if the decision had already been made before her sentence ended.
Tsunade brought a hand to her head in the same instant, the reaction coming alongside the sudden break in the situation’s flow, as if something had been interrupted abruptly.
Danzō disappeared from where he stood and reappeared several meters behind, his body intact once again, but his gaze now carrying genuine irritation.
"You disobeyed the Hokage?"
"Why the surprise?" Riser replied lazily. "I haven’t even officially entered the village yet. She is your Hokage, not mine. And you don’t seem to respect that very much either."
Tsunade frowned, still trying to process what had just happened.
"What happened, Riser?"
"Genjutsu." He answered directly. "But now it’s over. There’s no Sharingan left to sustain it."
Tsunade slowly turned her gaze toward Danzō, her expression hardening as the conclusion formed.
"You were manipulating me, Danzō?"
"Shut up, Hime."
Riser waited no longer.
He extended his hand again, thermal energy already concentrating around his arm while the intention to incinerate Danzō became clear, leaving no room for hesitation or negotiation.
"Stop, Riser." Tsunade spoke firmly. "Leave him. He’s still useful."
Riser did not answer immediately.
’Leaving this miserable bastard alive is something I don’t want to do... but she’s right. He can still be useful, for now.’
His arm slowly lowered, the energy dissipating without being released.
"Thank you." Tsunade kept her gaze firm, acknowledging the decision without softening the tension still present in the environment.
"Do you know what you made me do?" Danzō spoke, his voice controlled but carrying restrained irritation.
"I wanted to kill you." Riser replied without hesitation. "You’re lucky to still be alive... and you still wanted to keep a Sharingan?"
Danzō did not answer immediately, his gaze remaining steady while thoughts raced behind the neutral expression.
’I cannot reveal anything else now... I still have Koharu and Homura as support.’
Riser made no comment about Shisui’s eye.
Danzō noticed.
And kept it hidden.
That was still an advantage.
Tsunade stepped forward, maintaining authority at the center of the situation.
"You’re not going to have an easy life from now on."
"Call the ANBU." Danzō replied without resistance. "Take me into custody."
"Why the hurry?" Riser tilted his face slightly. "Afraid of me?"
Danzō did not answer immediately, the silence carrying more weight than any justification while his gaze remained fixed, avoiding giving a direct opening.
"You’re in too much of a hurry for someone who just surrendered." Riser continued without changing his tone. "That doesn’t look like fear of dying. It looks like fear that I’ll discover something before the ANBU arrive."
Tsunade turned toward Danzō in the same instant.
"What are you still hiding?"
"Nothing that concerns him." Danzō replied coldly, without looking away.
"Wrong." Riser cut in without hesitation. "Everything involving stolen Sharingan concerns me."
Silence weighed on the environment again, but this time it was not combat tension, it was restraint. The fight had already ended, and what remained now was control.
Riser looked away briefly, analyzing the surroundings of the tower and the absolute emptiness around it, with no external presence reacting to what had happened so far.
"Before you call the ANBU..." He turned his focus back to Tsunade. "There’s something you need to understand."
Tsunade kept her gaze firm.
"What is it?"
"This tower isn’t isolated only on the inside." Riser replied directly. "There’s a barrier around all of this."
Her gaze shifted slightly, fitting the information together with the empty scenario around them.
"So that’s why..." She analyzed the empty space surrounding them. "No civilians appeared. No other ninja approached."
"And they won’t." Riser confirmed. "Anyone outside isn’t seeing any of this. They only see the tower... intact."
Tsunade absorbed the information quickly, linking it directly to the control Riser had maintained over the entire situation from the start.
"That’s useful." She spoke without softening her tone.
"I know." Riser replied simply.
He took one step forward and extended his hand, the proposal clear even before the words.
"I can transfer control of the barrier to you." He kept his gaze on her. "That way, you decide who enters... and when they enter."
Tsunade did not look away.
"And in exchange?"
"You officially accept me into the village." Riser answered without beating around the bush. "No games, no hiding it. I stay... and you keep control."
The silence lasted only as long as needed for the decision.
Tsunade raised her hand and accepted.
The handshake was firm.
The instant their hands touched, a thermal sensation ran through her palm, warm and dense, as if something was being transferred directly alongside the gesture.
The barrier changed.
Control was no longer unilateral.
Now it responded to her as well.
Riser released her hand.
"Pleasure doing business with you, Hokage."
Before any other reaction could come, his body disappeared without leaving a trace, as if he had never been there.
Silence returned.
Tsunade remained still for a moment, feeling the flow of the barrier around the tower, now linked to her own perception.
The control was real.
She closed her eyes for a second.
"Kakashi... Sakura..."
The release was made.
Now they could enter.
