Chapter 1035: Chapter 1035: Stubborn Hadeok

"Do you think he’ll agree?" After enduring strained, awkward silence for about 30 seconds Agar couldn’t help but ask. The young man was overwhelmed with anxiety, his bony fingers tapping against his robes as he paced back and forth.

"Given what I know about Indra he’s not one to pass up a good fight especially one as interesting as this one." Not only would the three of them be the underdogs their opponent would be a well-known scourge, an organization that even their father has declared dangerous and hateful.

"But like me he’ll legitimately weigh the costs before giving his answer." He may be a battle junkie, but he wasn’t an idiot or a saint.

"Are you hinting that I should further sweeten the pot?" Agar raised his brow sensing something mischievous or even nefarious in his brother’s tone.

"Couldn’t hurt...." Frost answered him honestly, his lips curling into a mercantile grin that sent pangs of warning through Agar’s heart.

’Greedy demons’ He silently commented not realising that his panicked pacing and repetitive finger tapping had stopped, Frost had masterfully distracted him.

"Frost stop teasing your brother, your pay is more than fair." Dark eventually added, finding Frost’s actions amusing.

"I’ve been meaning to ask you father, have you spoken to Yami and Hadeok?" Agar mentioned that he wasn’t the only one under attack thus it would make sense if other siblings would have to be called on for aid.

".....I briefly spoke with Yami after Agar called. His situation is a... little different. While the enemy he faces is stronger overall he doesn’t suffer as much from their attacks or rather more accurately his can penetrate their defences....It’s more of a perilous slugfest than the inevitable annihilation Agar is facing."

Yami was not only the strongest of the Dungeon cores, but his elemental affinity and base nature was very similar to that of their father’s. Darkness, Yin, Death, Negativity, Destruction he encompassed many sub-aspects of what made Dark, Dark basically thus giving him flexibility and more varied methods in which to attack.

For example while the Church of Light’s holy magic and unique abilities could pierce through his defences and those of a vast majority of his monsters some of them were either less affected or found that their own attacks couldn’t be so easily blocked.

His vampires for instance, a race Yami personally designed despite having mastery over dark magic and bodies not so dissimilar to that of the dead could control blood and blood based magic, aspects that have a strong affinity and correlation with the life element....a combination that wouldn’t naturally form in nature or at least not under normal conditions.

The Church of Light dogs therefore could not overwhelm his vampires like they did with the rest of his monsters resulting in a heated stalemate. Ground was both lost and gained with every passing hour and while his upper floors may have become overrun his connection to them had not yet been severed. His position was much healthier in comparison to Agar and Hadeok.

Dark was not too worried about his eldest son; confident he had the means to overcome his current perils without any aid.

Hadeok however was a very different matter.

"And in regards to Hadeok I just finished talking with him before joining up with the two of you." As opposed to when he was talking about Yami, Dark’s expression was far more dire when it came to Hadeok, his brow locked into a heavily pronounced frown.

"And?" Asked Frost quickly picking up on the difference.

"Haaaaaa his situation is just as perilous as Agar’s but he’s far more stubborn. He refuses to accept his inability to handle his own safety and thus despite my advice has chosen to not call for aid." As a father it was obviously not a decision he was happy with but at the same time he was powerless to do anything about it. If Hadeok didn’t want help then he couldn’t force it on him. Ultimately any consequences that occur because of that decision would be on his own head.

"....So he’s going to die."

"Yes, no matter how valiantly he fights he’s simply not equipped to deal with this kind of enemy." Dark shrugged his shoulders and shook his head in dismay.

Hadeok was the kind of person that when pushed he would simply push back harder, bull headed and unopen to reason.

".....There’s nothing you can do?" Agar pleaded fearful of losing one of his siblings, he may not know him all that well, but he was still family.

"He’s stubborn and foolish but perhaps after suffering a little he might be able to see reason." Dark planned to call on him regularly for updates over the following days, hoping that after enough damage had been done to his Dungeon his son would accept help.

"With a personality like that does he even have anyone he can call on for help?" Agar had him and he was close with a bunch of their siblings but Hadeok, Frost only knew of his name, barely exchanging more than a common greeting during the previous family gathering.

Would one of their siblings be willing to risk their lives for him, he did not know.

"I’m not sure but I’ll do what I can.....less than 2 years....it’s far, far too early." Dark’s eyes seemed to drift far away, his mind wallowing on the possibility of losing one of his children so soon after their conception.

Eventually after waiting five minutes and when Frost was just about to try ringing Indra again the man himself called.

"Indra." Frost greeted his brother with a gentle smile.

"What’s this all about Frost? And it better be worth it." Indra’s tone was aggressive and his gaze was full of fire, clearly he was pissed.

His romantic time with Izuna was not only interrupted but forced to a sudden, painful and frustrating halt all because of the bomb Frost dropped. Even now his cock stung from the sudden bending and his balls groaned in frustration from their blued state. Obviously his partner was no longer inclined to satisfy his desires after hearing about the Church of Light so yes Indra was pretty damn pissed at his brother.

Emotions that weren’t lost on Frost, he sympathised with him, understanding his plight and knew he would be in a similar mindset if the shoe was on the other foot but unfortunately there was business to be discussed.

"I’ll allow Agar to fill you in since he’s the reason for my call." A somewhat discreet attempt to shift blame that went completely over Agar’s head as he took a deep breath, ready to explain his circumstances.

"Agar? ....Wait is father there to?" As Frost stepped to the side Indra was given clear view of the holographic screens showing both Agar and Dark. He briefly turned to his left where Izuna was sitting. With Dark being present Frost likely wasn’t pulling their legs about the whole Church of Light thing.

"It’s good to see you to son but we can catch up later, Agar tell him" Dark passed the baton back to Agar.

"Yes father.....elder brother it’s like this....." Agar spoke in a very polite and concise manner, explaining the situation and his request to Indra without losing control of his emotions like he did with Frost.

"....Well...shit." Indra had some ideas about the situation heading in but this, this was mind blowing. Three Dungeon cores, one of them being Yami, THE Yami were under assault by the Church of Light at the same time and Agar here was seeking aid.

He exchanged several glances with Izuna throughout, but she was pretty silent the whole time as she was in even greater shock than he was. It took a moment or two for the information to sink in but eventually Indra looked towards Frost and asked.

"And you, you’ve already agreed to help."

"Yeah, my cute little brother needs me after all." Frost replied with a shameless expression, painting him as some sort of saint which Indra wasn’t buying for a second.

"So the pay’s good then." He responded sharply, calling him out on his shamelessness.

"Very, but so’s the promise of an exhilarating fight." Frost’s expression morphed into battle junkie mode, wild smile, eyes dancing with glee and excitement all while radiating a fierce intensity that would paralyse a normal man....not Indra though. The moment he saw that look in his brother’s eyes he couldn’t help but recall their duel....that experience was almost as good as sex.

"Ten monsters." Indra stated, his gaze falling on Dark.

"Ten, not a single more." With Frost that’d be twenty in total, a much greater sounding number than just ten.

"What about battle mounts, will you count them as part of the ten or an extension of our own strength?" He further clarified, wondering just how far he could push this stingy father of theirs.

"Oh that’s a good question." Battle mounts had a soul connection with their master making them not so dissimilar to a bound weapon if looked upon with a certain perspective.

"Cheeky brats of course they count. if you bring a battle mount you’ll have nine monster slots left." Dark obviously wasn’t going to fall for their sneaky shenanigans.

"Tch fine....Agar what’s my cut?" Indra pursed his lips and clicked his tongue before emphatically turning away from Dark to face Agar.

"Oh it’s...." Agar was just about to explain when a shrill scream interrupted him.

"NOOO!!!!!!" Izuna who had been oddly quiet throughout this whole venture suddenly screamed in terror, her eyes bloodshot and fingers quickly wrapping around Indra’s robes, like powerful talons, pulling him in close in a possessive, protective manner.
