Athena’s pov:

Wet...fucking dripping wet is what Alpha Kael makes me just by a little possessive growl of his.

The way my body reacted to the sound of his voice should have been illegal. One rough command from those sinful lips of his, and my entire body burned for him like it had been created solely for his pleasure.

A breeding vessel.

That was all I was supposed to be to him.

"The war is over!"

The cheerful shouts echoed through the pack grounds, making me freeze before I practically ran toward the gates of the packhouse.

"We won the war?" I asked the guard who was stationed just outside the gate.

"Yes, Miss Athena we have won, we just got the call from the frontier. Our troops have defeated Blackmoon, those bastards will never be able to attack our territory again! " the guard replied, his face filled with unparalleled joy just like mine and all the other people in our pack around me.

I looked ahead my heart which was feeling so constricted till now finally feeling some relief, finally, peace will return, finally, we will be able to live without fear and most importantly I will be able to see my father after so much time.

"Miss Athena, they have left towards the packhouse, they will be here in just a few hours." I heard Romana from behind me and turned towards her feeling very excited.

Romana is my personal attendant and also my partner in crime from the day I started walking. We are basically best friends but bound by protocol.

"Really? Then let’s prepare the packhouse to welcome everyone and also ... Will Harry also be here?" I asked the last part feeling my cheeks turn a little red at the mention of Harry.

Harry, my childhood sweetheart. It is basically factual knowledge in our pack that we two like each other but still since our pack was in such a long war with Blackmoon Pack we had to put our relationship on hold and are still in a kind of courtship period.

"Uhm... Yes ma’am Commander Harry is the one who called. It was a call meant for you but you had already run off so he suffused with just talking to me...uhm he will be here also," Romana said with a teasing glint in her eyes making the people in our hearing distance chuckle and me a burning mess.

"Yeah, yeah.. I know I was just asking as a worried pack member nothing else, let’s go and make preparations for their arrival," I said quickly while pulling Romana, who was controlling her laughter as I had just stated a very good joke.

I looked around, trying to control the blush forming on my cheeks but the knowing glances on the pack members around me did nothing to help the situation.

"Everybody get to work. I want every corner of the packhouse decorated, my dad is coming back, don’t waste any time!" I shouted one last time before just dashing towards the packhouse no longer willing to endure the teasing glances I was receiving.

Soon the wait of hours was feeling like days as I kept waiting and watching everyone rustling around trying to decorate everything with flowers and colours.

"Miss Athena, the sour fish is ready just like you wanted." the chef said as soon as I entered the kitchen to inquire about it, making me smile.

"Thank you!" I said with a smile feeling excited for the moment Dad sees the sour fish, he goes crazy for it, the best thing in the world as per his words.

"What about the spicy ribs? Are they prepared? " I asked, trying to sound casual.

The chef smirked knowingly. "That is also getting ready my lady, don’t worry, Commander Harry will definitely be served with his favourite," she replied with a smile and I just nodded trying to keep the conversation as normal as possible while the kitchen staff laughed around me.

Before I could respond, commotion suddenly erupted outside.

My heart leapt instantly.

"They’re here!"

I ran out of the kitchen with Romana directly behind me.

The moment I reached the entrance of the packhouse, my eyes landed on Harry stepping out of one of the vehicles.

My smile faltered immediately.

He looked terrible.

His clothes were torn, his face covered in cuts and dried blood, a long hideous scar left on his forehead and his expression...

His expression made something cold crawl down my spine.

Without caring about anything else I dashed towards him and hugged him in front of everyone trying to give some assurance to my heart that after all everything was over and well.

"Harry you are finally back!" I said as I looked at him with a big smile after breaking the hug. "Why aren’t you smiling? Aren’t you happy to see me after so long?" I asked with a pout which I knew always made him smile at me but this time he still didn’t smile.

"Athena, you will have to be brave to listen to what I am about to say, ok? " he said, making the smile vanish from my face instantly as the warmth drained from my body instantly.

Fear crept up my spine.

"Harry..." I whispered. "What happened?"
