Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1128:- An Emperor Unlike the Others

Chapter 1128: Chapter 1128:- An Emperor Unlike the Others

After the banquet ended, Aditya made his way back to the living room. The moment he entered, he found the girls sitting together on the sofas, happily chatting among themselves. Their conversation immediately came to a stop as everyone turned toward him. Judging by their curious expressions, they were eager to know how the banquet had gone and what had been discussed with the noble leaders.

Aditya slowly walked over before dropping onto the sofa beside Rin. The moment he sat down, he leaned back and let out a long, tired sigh.

SIGH.....!!!!

"I really hate this kind of social gathering." His exhausted expression immediately surprised Yuna and Zahira.

The two women looked at one another before turning back to Aditya. To them, he had appeared perfectly calm and confident throughout the entire banquet. They never would have guessed that he disliked such occasions so much.

Seeing the puzzled expressions on their faces, Rin could not help but smile. "Back in the Istarin Empire, Aditya almost never hosted social gatherings of his own, nor did he enjoy attending banquets organised by the nobles."

As she spoke, Rin gently reached over and began patting the back of Aditya’s head with a tender and doting expression.

Feeling the familiar touch, Aditya instinctively relaxed. His tense shoulders loosened, and he quietly closed his eyes, enjoying the comforting sensation. The exhaustion from maintaining his dignified bearing throughout the banquet seemed to slowly melt away under Rin’s gentle care.

"He only attended such gatherings when it was absolutely necessary." Rin continued with a soft smile. "Even then, he would finish everything as quickly as possible before leaving. He has never liked wasting time socialising with nobles."

She gently brushed a few strands of his long, blue hair behind his ear before adding.

"He much prefers spending his free time with his family than attending banquets or listening to endless political conversations." Yuna and Zahira could not help but stare at Aditya in surprise. Given his identity as an Emperor, they had naturally assumed he frequently attended lavish banquets, festivals, and gatherings with high-ranking nobles.

Instead, the man who ruled one of the strongest empires on the six continents preferred spending quiet evenings with the people closest to him rather than surrounding himself with powerful nobles and endless formalities.

That revelation somehow made him feel even more approachable in their eyes.

"Where is Wahid?" Yuna asked as she looked around the living room, only now realising that he was nowhere to be seen.

"Uncle Wahid and Grandpa are seeing the members of the Harrington Faction off."

Aditya answered while remaining comfortably seated beside Rin.

"After all, today’s gathering included the leaders of every noble house belonging to the Harrington Faction. As the current leaders of the faction, it would be inappropriate for them not to personally escort their guests before they returned to their respective territories."

Yuna and Zahira nodded in understanding. Although the banquet had officially ended, there were still many formalities that needed to be observed among nobles of such high status.

Thinking back to everything that had happened during the meeting, Aditya could not help but inwardly smile.

In the past, every noble house within the Harrington Faction had chosen to support him primarily because of his blood ties with the Harrington Family. Their loyalty had been based upon family relationships, trust in Boris and Malakor Harrington, and the belief that Aditya was the rightful heir.

However, Tonight had completely changed that.

After personally witnessing Aditya’s composure, listening to his plans for the Empire, learning about the Tomb of Black Tomb, and seeing the strength he had gathered around himself, every remaining doubt within their hearts had disappeared.

They were no longer supporting him simply because he was a member of the Harrington Family. They were supporting him because they genuinely believed he was the best person to lead the Celestial Dragon Empire.

In fact, not a single noble regretted standing on Aditya’s side.

The truth was simple. Compared to Emperor Ren, Aditya was clearly the superior choice.

Even before officially ascending the Imperial Throne, he had already demonstrated the qualities of an outstanding ruler. His calm judgment, long-term vision, decisive personality, military talent, and willingness to place the Empire above his personal interests had left an unforgettable impression upon every noble present.

Some of the older nobles even found themselves thinking something they never imagined they would. If Aditya continued growing at this pace, he might one day become an even greater Emperor than Boris himself.

"You don’t like all the etiquette that comes with noble gatherings, do you?" Athena asked with a light chuckle as she looked at Aditya.

Aditya simply nodded. "I don’t really care about etiquette."

His answer did not surprise Rin in the slightest.

Back in the Istarin Empire, Aditya had never cared much for the countless formalities that accompanied Imperial life. As long as basic respect was maintained, he rarely insisted on rigid court etiquette or complicated ceremonial procedures. To him, they were nothing more than unnecessary formalities that consumed time without accomplishing anything meaningful.

Most of the time, he remained inside the Dragon Palace, handling the Empire’s affairs from his simple office. Whenever he needed a noble to carry out an order or report on a particular matter, he simply sent an official letter or dispatched one of his trusted subordinates with his instructions. There was rarely any need to summon dozens of nobles simply to discuss matters that could be resolved far more efficiently through written reports.

Official court sessions were equally uncommon.

Compared to the other great Empires, where Emperors held court almost every single day, Aditya rarely convened an Imperial Court more than once or twice a month. In his opinion, there was very little value in forcing hundreds of officials to gather every morning merely to repeat the same formal greetings and ceremonial procedures.

From his perspective, most court sessions consisted primarily of endless flattery.

Nobles and officials spent the majority of the meeting praising the Emperor, competing for recognition, or trying to make themselves appear more loyal than everyone else. Only a small portion of the discussions actually involved matters that genuinely affected the Empire.

Aditya had never liked that style of governance. He preferred concise reports, direct discussions, and efficient decision-making.

The same philosophy applied to his advisors.

Among all the Emperors of the great Empires, Aditya maintained one of the smallest advisory councils. It was not because he distrusted talented people, but because he simply did not believe there was a need to surround himself with dozens of advisors whose opinions often contradicted one another.

He had complete confidence in his own judgment, and whenever he genuinely wanted another perspective, the members of his own family were more than capable of offering honest and intelligent advice.

For Aditya, that was more than enough.

He had never believed that gathering hundreds of nobles into a grand court every day was the only way to govern an Empire. In his eyes, an Emperor’s duty was to solve problems and lead the nation efficiently, not to spend hours listening to empty praise disguised as political discussion.

The more Yuna and Zahira learned about Aditya, the more they realised just how different he was from every Emperor they had ever heard about.

His way of thinking was fundamentally different.

He never blindly followed traditions simply because they had existed for thousands of years. If he believed that a particular custom, ritual, or governing practice no longer served any meaningful purpose and survived only because previous Emperors continued following it, then he would not hesitate to abolish it entirely.

To Aditya, traditions existed to benefit the Empire. The Empire did not exist to serve outdated traditions.

If an old system proved inefficient, then it deserved to be replaced by something better. If a centuries-old ritual wasted time without producing results, then there was no reason to preserve it merely for appearances. He respected history, but he refused to become a prisoner of it.

In many ways, Aditya possessed a remarkably progressive mindset. His priority was always efficiency.

If there were a better solution, he would adopt it regardless of how long the previous system had existed. Whether it involved governing an Empire, commanding an army, or managing the daily affairs of the Imperial Palace, Aditya always sought the most practical approach instead of the most traditional one.

Seeing the stunned expressions on Yuna and Zahira’s faces, Laura could not help but laugh.

She separated herself from Athena before looking at the two women with an amused smile.

"You think that’s surprising?"

She pointed her thumb toward Aditya. "This man even worked as my personal bodyguard back in the Six Continents. He protected me from the strongest and deadliest assassin of that continent."

Laura’s smile widened even further. "And in the end, he somehow even managed to make that assassin fall in love with him."

The moment those words left her mouth, Aditya’s lips twitched helplessly.

The way Laura described the incident made him sound like some kind of shameless Playboy who went around charming women wherever he went.

The reality could not have been further from the truth. That entire situation had been an extraordinary series of circumstances completely beyond his expectations. He had never deliberately tried to make the assassin develop feelings for him, nor had he ever taken advantage of her emotions.

Most importantly, Aditya had always been fiercely loyal to the women he loved. Whether it was in the Istarin Empire or in the Main Continent that had never changed.
