Chapter 1126: Chapter 1126:- Anti-Emperor Faction Meeting [i]
Afterwards, Aditya briefly recounted everything that had happened at the Night Rider Sect and the Chimera Shadow Sect. He explained how both operations had been planned, how each step unfolded, and how they ultimately succeeded in destroying both sects.
However, he intentionally left out many of the finer details. There was no need to explain every small movement, every individual battle, or every minor decision that had been made during the operations. The people gathered here only needed to understand the overall strategy and the outcome. As for the countless details in between, Aditya saw no reason to reveal them.
The noble leaders listened attentively from beginning to end. The more they heard, the more impressed they became by the level of preparation behind both operations. It was now obvious to everyone that neither victory had been achieved through luck. Every major move had been carefully calculated beforehand, leaving the enemy almost no opportunity to respond.
Throughout his explanation, Aditya’s tone remained calm and composed. He neither exaggerated his accomplishments nor deliberately downplayed them. He simply stated the facts as they had happened.
At the same time, Aditya never tried to make himself appear humble before the noble houses.
He appreciated their support.
He respected the contributions they were willing to make.
But appreciation and equality were two completely different things.
Aditya was not an inexperienced young ruler trying to win the approval of those around him. As the Emperor of the Istarin Empire, he had already governed a vast nation and commanded countless powerful cultivators. He understood far better than anyone that a ruler who constantly lowered himself in front of his subordinates or allies would eventually lose the invisible authority that separated the throne from everyone beneath it.
More importantly, He was the Dragon Monarch. The King of All Dragons.
Whether he consciously realised it or not, an immense sense of pride existed deep within his very bloodline. It was not the blind arrogance of someone who looked down upon the world, but the natural dignity of a supreme ruler. Dragons were born to stand above others, not because they demanded respect through words, but because their very existence inspired it.
That pride never clouded Aditya’s judgment. He listened to advice whenever it was beneficial. He admitted mistakes whenever they were genuinely his. He accepted criticism if it improved his decisions. However, there was one thing he would never do. He would never lower himself simply to appear humble.
A ruler needed dignity.
The moment an Emperor behaved as though he stood on the same level as everyone else, some people would inevitably begin treating him as an equal. Once that happened, others would gradually push the boundaries even further, believing they could influence him, pressure him, or even take advantage of his humility.
Aditya had no intention of allowing such thoughts to take root. From the very beginning of the meeting, through every word he spoke and every action he took, he subtly made one fact clear to everyone present.
He appreciated their loyalty. He welcomed their support. He would remember every contribution they made. But he was not one of them.
He was the one who would sit upon the Imperial Throne.
Everything taking place tonight was not a discussion between equals deciding the future together. It was the future Emperor informing his allies of his plans and allowing them to understand the direction in which he intended to lead the Empire. Their opinions were valuable, but the final decision would always belong to him.
After all, Aditya firmly believed that if given sufficient time and proper preparation, he alone possessed the ability to overthrow Emperor Ren and everything standing behind him. With his army of Dragons, there was no stopping him.
The support of the noble houses would undoubtedly reduce casualties, stabilize the Empire after the war, and shorten the conflict considerably. However, he never considered their support to be something he absolutely depended upon for victory.
That confidence did not come from arrogance. It came from knowing exactly who he was. He was the Dragon Monarch.
"Now then, does anyone have any questions they would like to ask?"
Aditya calmly looked around the dining hall while sitting at the head of the table. His posture remained relaxed, his expression composed, and his eyes carried the quiet confidence of someone completely in control of the situation. There wasn’t the slightest hint of nervousness or intimidation despite having dozens of influential noble leaders staring directly at him.
His composure did not go unnoticed. Many of the nobles silently admired him.
Although Aditya was still very young, he already possessed the bearing of an Emperor. Most people in his position would have become somewhat nervous while addressing so many influential figures, especially those who were decades or even thousands of years older than themselves.
Yet Aditya behaved as though such gatherings were an ordinary part of his daily life. His calm demeanour, confident speech, and natural authority made it difficult for anyone to remember that he had only recently reached adulthood.
After a brief moment of silence, Duke William Cassian slowly rose from his seat.
"Your Majesty." After receiving a slight nod from Aditya, he continued.
"How did Sir Wahid manage to recover his destroyed cultivation and even break through into the Mid 7th-order Realm?" It was the question that had been on everyone’s mind ever since Wahid walked into the dining hall.
Instantly, every pair of eyes turned toward Aditya.
"Because I am the Dragon Monarch." His reply was calm and straightforward. There was no arrogance in it.
There was no attempt to boast.
He spoke as though he had merely stated the most obvious fact in the world. To Aditya, there was nothing extraordinary about his answer. Healing someone like Wahid and allowing him to become even stronger was simply one of the many things that the Dragon Monarch was capable of accomplishing.
"You all will understand when the time comes." Aditya replied with a faint, mysterious smile.
He had no intention of explaining how Wahid had recovered his cultivation or how he had even advanced into the Mid-7th-order Realm. Some secrets were better kept hidden for the time being.
The less others knew about the true abilities of the Dragon Monarch, the greater the advantage he would possess in the future. There would come a day when everyone would naturally understand the answer, but that day was not today.
After allowing the topic to end there, Aditya’s expression gradually became serious once again. "My prediction is that after losing two of his greatest supporters, Ren will begin to panic."
He calmly looked around the table as everyone listened attentively. "He has already witnessed the destruction of both the Night Rider Sect and the Chimera Shadow Sect. At the same time, he now knows that my faction has suddenly become significantly stronger. More importantly, he has no idea where I obtained four powerful 7th-order subordinates."
Aditya lightly tapped the table with one finger. "That uncertainty will become his greatest enemy. The more information he lacks, the more desperate he will become to uncover the truth. He will constantly question where these experts came from, whether I possess even more hidden strength, and what other trump cards I have yet to reveal."
A faint smile appeared on Aditya’s face. "Desperate people rarely make the best decisions. The more pressure Ren feels, the more likely he is to act recklessly. Rather than patiently waiting and allowing my strength to continue growing, he will most likely choose to launch the civil war before the situation slips completely out of his control."
His confident analysis caused many of the nobles to nod in agreement. "I believe that moment will arrive within the next few days. Therefore, I want every noble house present to prepare your troops and remain ready for immediate deployment." All the Noble houses had already prepared to go to war at any given second now.
Aditya deliberately chose not to order every noble to gather their armies in one location.
"With the existence of Teleportation Arrays, there is no practical reason to concentrate every army in a single place. Doing so would only create unnecessary risks."
He continued explaining his reasoning. "If all of your armies leave your territories at the same time, Ren may decide to exploit that opportunity by launching surprise attacks against the capitals of your respective duchies. Even if he fails to destroy our main force, causing devastation to your cities and civilians would still be a significant victory for him."
Aditya slowly looked around the hall before concluding.
"For that reason, I want every noble house to remain on high alert. Keep your armies within your own territories and be prepared to move at a moment’s notice. If the frontlines require reinforcements, you will immediately deploy through the Teleportation Arrays."
"Likewise, if one of our allied cities comes under attack, the nearest noble houses can quickly send their forces to reinforce that location. This approach allows us to remain flexible while ensuring that none of our territories is left defenceless."
The noble leaders silently nodded.
