Chapter 1064:- Family Meeting

Chapter 1064:- Family Meeting

"That’s a big number." Wahid was completely shocked. Even managing a peaceful and balanced relationship with his two wives was already difficult for him. There were times when even small things would turn into problems, and he often found himself stuck trying to keep both sides satisfied without creating any misunderstandings.

Before allowing him to marry a second wife, Harrington had given him one strict condition. No matter the situation, he must treat both of his wives equally. If he bought something as small as a hair stick for one, he had to buy the same for the other. Not just similar, but equal in quality and value. It could not be that one item was better or more expensive than the other. Every action, every decision, had to reflect fairness.

This was not just a simple rule. It was part of Harrington’s teachings, something he took very seriously. According to him, if a man chose to have more than one wife, then he must carry the responsibility that came with it. Under no circumstances should any wife feel that she was being treated less or that the other was being favoured. Even the smallest imbalance could slowly break trust, and once that trust was gone, it would be impossible to fix.

"Aditya is very caring toward all of us. Anyone might think that because there are eight of us, he would not be able to give each of us enough time. It sounds logical from the outside, but that is not how things actually are."

"In reality, it is completely different. Aditya spends most of his time with us, and he always makes sure that no one feels left out. He balances everything in a way that is hard to understand unless you see it yourself."

"And the strange part is, he is always apologising. He keeps saying that he is not giving us enough time, even though that is not true at all. I can say this with complete certainty that none of us has ever felt ignored or treated less than the others. He treats all of us equally, without any difference."

Hearing all this, Malakor Harrington felt very proud of his grandson. This is exactly what he wanted to hear. He had no problem with his children marrying hundreds of wives, but only if his children could give proper time and equal fair treatment to all wives.

"Aditya, eat this." Just then, Wahid’s first wife, Zahira, came forward with a tray of homemade snacks that she had prepared herself. Without hesitation, Wahid picked up one of the plates and held it out, bringing a piece of food closer to Aditya as if it were the most natural thing to do.

At first, Aditya felt a bit awkward. Being fed by another grown man was not something he was used to, and for a brief moment, he did not know how to react. But that feeling did not last long. Very quickly, he began to understand the intention behind their actions.

Here, he was not being treated like an Emperor or even like an adult. He was being pampered and cared for like he was their own child. The way Wahid and the others looked at him, the way they acted around him, made it clear that to them, he was like their own child.

Everyone was so caring toward him that Harrington, who had been waiting the whole time to sit beside his grandson, did not get the chance even once. The old man could only sit across from Aditya on a single sofa. Watching everything unfold left him with a mix of pride and quiet frustration.

More than once, Harrington tried to find the right moment to move closer and speak to him, to ask him a few things, to spend some time with him simply. But every time he thought there was an opening, someone else would already be there. His nephew, along with his two wives, stayed close to Aditya almost the entire time, talking to him, laughing with him, and keeping him engaged.

They were far too enthusiastic to give up their spot.

In the end, Harrington could only sit there and watch, occasionally letting out a small sigh while waiting for his turn that never seemed to come. Even though he said nothing, it was clear that the old man was more than eager to talk to his grandson, but for now, he had no choice but to wait.

Seeing everything, Boris could not help but chuckle. Who would have thought that things could get so lively with his grandson?

The entire Harrington family was radiating pure happiness seeing Aditya after so many years.

’My stupid son is very lucky to marry the daughter of this family.’ Of course, Boris did not say it out loud.

It was Alen who fell in love first. At that time, he was still the Crown Prince, and after realising his feelings, he went to his father to speak about marriage. He wanted to marry the daughter of the Harrington family. Even Boris personally went to meet Malakor to discuss the proposal, but Malakor did not show any special respect for his position. Without caring that he was speaking to the Emperor himself, he directly refused the proposal without hesitation.

Malakor’s reason was simple. He did not want to turn his daughter into a tool for political gain. To him, a marriage like that was nothing more than selling his child for power and influence, and he had no intention of allowing that to happen. No matter who came to ask, even if it was the Emperor, his answer would not change.

However, things changed over time. Alen did not give up, and eventually, he was able to win her heart. Once it became clear that the feelings were genuine and not forced or driven by politics, Malakor had no reason to stand in their way. This was no longer a political arrangement but a real bond between two people. Seeing that, he accepted it without issue, and within a few years, the two of them got married.

"Life was hard for you, but it’s about to get even harder." Aditya looked at Malakor.

"Maybe it will be the hardest test that you will face in life." Boris silently agreed with Malakor’s words.

He had ruled the Celestial Dragon Empire for more than twenty thousand years, and because of that, he understood better than anyone how dangerous situations like this could become. On the surface, it looked as if Aditya held the overwhelming advantage in the civil war. More and more powerful figures were gathering around him, and his influence continued to rise rapidly.

But Boris knew that Ren could not be underestimated so easily.

No matter how things appeared from the outside, Ren still possessed terrifying support behind him. All of the National Treasures remained loyal to him, and that alone was enough to make him extremely dangerous. On top of that, no one truly knew how much help the Organisation was secretly providing him from the shadows. And beyond the borders of the Celestial Dragon Empire, Ren also had many powerful allies and close connections of his own.

"Each of the National Treasures has the power to change the tide of an entire battle. And Ren has the loyalty of all of them. This will be our biggest obstacle to Victory." Aditya seriously nodded his head.

"Is there no way to make the National Treasures stay neutral? Maybe keep them out of the civil war entirely... or even make them switch sides?" Aditya had been thinking about this question for quite some time now. It was something that continued to stay in the back of his mind whenever he thought about the future of the war.

It was not because he feared the National Treasures. Even if each of them possessed enough power to completely change the outcome of a battlefield, Aditya was not afraid of facing them. Deep in his heart, he believed that with enough time, he would eventually find a way to fight against them and overcome that gap in strength.

But despite that, Aditya still preferred the option of keeping them alive rather than killing them. To him, the National Treasures were not just individuals. They were the greatest weapons and pillars of the Celestial Dragon Empire itself. If even half of them were lost during the civil war, then regardless of who won in the end, the Empire would suffer massive damage to its overall strength. Recovering from such a loss would not be easy. In fact, it could take the Celestial Dragon Empire more than a thousand years to fully recover from that kind of destruction.

Not to mention the countless resources that would be spent.
