Chapter 1038:- The Goddess of War

Chapter 1038: Chapter 1038:- The Goddess of War

"The Goddess of War is here!!!" The moment these words were spoken, everyone froze in their places because the goddess of war was the last person that they had expected to come here and take a side.

’Is she really here?’ Duke Cassian thought with a look of shock and surprise. Today, the Funeral wasn’t supposed to be about this. But he had not expected everyone to use this funeral as a platform to express their political views and turn this into a political meeting. Now they had come to a point where at any given second, things could escalate into a full-blown fight. And the figures that came here were so strong that the moment they exchanged blows, Duke Cassian would suffer the most losses.

This is also why avoid escalating things. Duke Cassian was the only one here who avoided taking any sides. So far, he silently kept observing.

He wasn’t one of those Dukes who still had not decided on which side to choose, or one of those who decided to remain neutral. He had already picked a side even before the Funeral began. The people close to him and his close allies already knew this.

The goddess of war and the deceased general did not even know each other. So there is no reason for her to come here. The only logical explanation for her arrival here is that she is here to participate in the internal politics and the upcoming civil war of the celestial dragon empire.

The moment the faction that took the side of the emperor heard that the Goddess of War was, they were instantly overjoyed. Because the Goddess of War had a close relationship with the Emperor, both Empires were close allies.

Even after Emperor Ren became the Emperor, both Empires still remained close friends. Her arrival here meant that she was here to take the side of the emperor and fight the rest from their side. And with the goddess of war herself being on their side, there was no reason for them to lose this war.

The Goddess of War did not speak any words to anybody. In her hand, she held a beautiful white rose.

Her name was Freya Valerion.

She stood tall among everyone, her height reaching around 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 meters), and her presence alone put a silent pressure on almost everyone, and it was enough to silence even the most arrogant of nobles. It was not just her beauty, but the things that she accomplished that made people feel both admiration and fear at the same time.

Just as the name suggests, the Goddess of War was the last person one would want to face in a battle. She was more than enough for an entire army.

Her long hair flowed down her back like a dark river. The hair was tied partially at the top, held together by a delicate ornament that carried a few feathers and fine golden details. The rest of her hair was left free, gently resting over her shoulders and back, moving slightly with the air. A few loose strands framed her face, making her look even more natural and unreal at the same time.

Her eyes were sharp and clear, glowing with a deep emerald green colour. They were not soft or innocent. There was strength inside them. A calm kind of strength that made it feel like she had already seen countless battles and deaths.

Her skin was smooth and fair, almost flawless, like it had never been touched by dust or time. There was a natural glow around her, something that made her stand out even in a crowd filled with powerful cultivators.

She wore a beautifully designed outfit that perfectly matched her figure. The dress was a mix of dark green, black, and red, with fine golden patterns running along the edges. The upper part of her outfit was fitted, highlighting her slender waist and toned body.

While the lower part flowed more freely, with a layered fabric that moved gracefully.

Her shoulders and arms were partially exposed, with light fabric and arm guards wrapped around them. This gave her both beauty and a warrior-like charm. Around her waist, she wore small decorative elements and belts without making her appearance feel or look heavy.

She did not wear too many accessories, but the ones she had were enough. A simple necklace rested near her collarbone, and small earrings matched the colour of her eyes.

Just seeing her, many men felt their hearts skip a beat.

Some who had wives and family could not even look away from her. She was so attractive that one could keep staring at her forever.

Many around the entire Main Continent felt that just being able to see her smile once would be worth more than any amount of money to some.

Even Renji felt his heartbeat slightly rise at the sight of her. She was truly beautiful. People called Sophia a beauty who was comparable to the Seven goddesses. But in front of an actual Goddess, Sophia looked like another background character.

Despite how beautiful she was, no one dared to approach her. She was the Goddess of War. She was someone so strong and powerful that no one within the Main Continent dared to offend her.

-----------

The Goddess of War was an extremely beautiful woman. Many claimed that among the 7 Goddesses, she was the prettiest of them. But that rumour did not start without a base. There cannot be smoke without fire somewhere.

She walked past everyone and gently put the white rose on the dead general’s chest.

She then stood in front of the dead general for five seconds before taking a few steps back without turning around.

"He was a Good Man." She said while staring at Nico William.

"He was a good brother. Today I have lost something that cannot be bought." Cassian replied in a very low and sad tone.

"I will kill whoever is responsible for this." The Duke barely held his killing intent in him.

"I hope both of you can find peace." The goddess of war believed that death was not just the end of life but the beginning of another life. One brother had passed away, and another brother had just started the most difficult phase of his life. Both brothers needed to find peace.

After paying respect to that dead general, she finally turned around and faced the crowd.

"When my parents agreed to the engagement all those years back, I had set my mind since then that if there was anybody whom I was going to marry in the future, it would be him."

"Life as an exiled prince must have been extremely tough for him. But I also believed with my heart that one day he would come back."

"I have waited all these years because I firmly believed in my heart and soul that he would come back to take what is rightfully his." She said this part while staring at the Nobles that decided to support the Emperor.

The words that the goddess of war spoke completely threw the faction that was siding with the emperor off guard.

The words that they heard were so unbelievable and shocking that none of the Dukes from the emperor’s faction could stay calm or hide their reaction.

’Didn’t she have a really good relationship with his majesty?’

’Why is she hinting that she will side with the exiled crown prince?’

These were the thoughts of many Dukes and Duchess that believed that she was on their side. In fact, some were already secretly celebrating the moment she entered. Her appearance here meant that the Goddess of War would not just watch but would fight in this war.

And the Goddess of War have never left a war. She was undefeatable on the battlefield. Because of these reasons, they had started to celebrate. Some even looked at each other and smiled in pure happiness.

But their early celebration was cut short by the few short sentences she spoke to the crowd. Instead of feeling joy, some within the crowd felt overwhelming despair. How were they supposed to win against a figure who was undefeated on the battlefield?

"I would have stayed out of their internal politics and the upcoming civil war of this empire. Because, unlike certain people who need to prove their loyalty to the throne and the empire by taking part in this war, I don’t have such obligations."

"But after learning the truth, and knowing that we are fighting for the same cause and same future, I knew that I could not stay out of this." No one noticed that, after hearing this part of her words, Sophia panicked for a moment. In that second, she was sure that the Goddess knew about them.

She was truly afraid that she would expose them in front of everyone.
