Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1033:- Duke Ferdinand’s Opposition

Chapter 1033: Chapter 1033:- Duke Ferdinand’s Opposition

In the long history of the Celestial Dragon Empire, something like this had never happened before. Even though the empire has declined in the present day, it is still feared and respected across the entire Main Continent.

No one dares to offend the Celestial Dragon Empire lightly. Everyone knows that if they do, it would end in a very cruel and unforgiving way.

This is exactly why this news shocked everyone so deeply. Every major and minor power, not just within the Celestial Dragon Empire but even beyond it, had no choice but to come in person to assess the situation and understand what had truly happened.

However, this was not just about mourning the death of the General or the loss of the Duke’s younger brother. It was something much bigger than that. This gathering was also about gaining a deeper understanding of the chaotic political situation that currently existed within the Celestial Dragon Empire.

If someone were to ask how all of this began, there would be many different answers. Some would say that everything started when the previous Emperor stepped down, and his nephew took the throne. To them, that was the moment things began to change.

Others might argue that the situation had already been building up over the past few years, slowly getting worse without anyone truly realising how serious it would become.

But the true, and perhaps the most cruel answer, goes back to that day when the real Crown Prince was wrongfully exiled from his own homeland and sent somewhere within the Six Continents. That moment marked the beginning of the unstable and chaotic political situation that everyone is facing today

When Aditya was exiled, there were many voices that openly opposed the Emperor’s decision. It was not something that went unnoticed or unchallenged. Many powerful figures made sure that the Emperor heard their disagreement loud and clear.

After his exile, several Dukes from across the empire made repeated attempts to find the exiled Crown Prince somewhere within the Six Continents. They used their resources, influence, and connections to search for him, hoping to bring him back or at least learn about his condition.

However, searching for the Crown Prince within the vast Six Continents was like trying to find a single mouse hidden deep inside a forest. It was simply impossible to locate him within a short period of a few years.

To make things even worse, the Emperor refused to reveal where exactly the Crown Prince had been exiled. This made the search even more difficult, leaving everyone in the dark without any clear direction.

Although the voices against the Emperor were not very loud when Aditya was wrongfully exiled, that moment still marked the beginning of something much bigger. It was the point when many Dukes and nobles across the empire slowly began to lose their trust and faith in the Crown and the throne.

After all, something like this was impossible to even imagine during the reign of Emperor Boris. Back then, the empire was stable, and the authority of the throne was unquestionable.

Yet now, his own son had exiled his own grandson.

From that point onward, everything only went downhill. Within a few years, it became clear to everyone that the Emperor had turned into nothing more than a puppet. A puppet that was being controlled by his nephew.

Slowly, over the years, his nephew was given more and more power. With each passing year, his influence continued to grow, and the balance within the empire began to shift.

What made the situation even worse was that his nephew abused that power so much that it was just impossible for everyone not to notice or pretend not to notice.

He began appointing people to high-ranking positions within the military and the court, even when they clearly did not deserve those roles. This created frustration and dissatisfaction among many nobles and officials.

At one point, he even wiped out an entire Baron family. The reason was simple and stupid: the Baron refused to stay silent under the invisible pressure of politics and openly spoke about his wrongdoings during a social gathering.

Within a single week, the Baron and his entire family were completely erased.

To the point that even official investigations could not find anything.

Not even his corpse was found anywhere within the Celestial Dragon Empire.

Even though no one openly said it out loud, ever since the empire got a new Emperor, a lot of things across the entire empire had quietly changed. The atmosphere was no longer the same as before. There was a sense of unease that everyone could feel, even if they chose not to speak about it.

It was also not a secret that anyone who opposed or stood against the new Emperor in any way, shape, or form would eventually face his retribution. Whether it was direct or indirect, no one could escape the consequences once they were marked.

Because of all this, attending this funeral was not just about paying respect to the dead. Everyone who came had their own purpose. They wanted to understand what was really happening behind the scenes, what kind of changes were taking place within the empire, and how serious the situation had become.

Only after understanding everything clearly did they plan to make their next move carefully and prepare themselves for what was to come.

Some came here simply to understand what was truly going on. Their goal was to observe the situation carefully and then shift their support toward whichever side appeared stronger.

At this point, the empire was no longer united. It had slowly begun to divide into two main factions. On one side, there was the faction that supported the Emperor. On the other side, there were those who had strongly opposed him ever since he took the throne.

And as time passed, the situation only became worse. Many of the actions the Emperor took soon after becoming the ruler only added fuel to the fire. Instead of calming the situation, his decisions pushed more and more Dukes and powerful nobles to stand against him.

But there was something even more serious than all of these factors, something that forced all the Dukes and powerful figures of the empire to gather in one place.

And that was the heavy rumour that the exiled Crown Prince, who had been sent far away from the Main Continent, was going to return soon and challenge the Emperor for the throne.

This rumour alone was enough to shake the entire empire.

According to the laws of the empire, the current Emperor was directly chosen by the previous Emperor. His position was not something that could be easily questioned.

At the same time, those same laws also clearly stated that the previous Crown Prince had been exiled by the previous Emperor himself. Because of that, he was never allowed to return to the Main Continent, let alone set foot in his own homeland again.

If he were to return, then by the laws of the empire, the current Emperor would have every right to treat him as a criminal. He could be arrested immediately and punished according to the law.

"The law is clear. If he returns, he will be arrested." Duke Ferdinand, who was walking back after speaking to Duke Cassian.

Hearing the conversation that was taking place between a Baron and a Viscount, Ferdinand stopped.

"Law?" Ferdinand was one of those Dukes who opposed Aditya’s exile. He even wrote a letter to the Emperor himself. In that, he stated, if the young Crown Prince did something wrong, he should not be punished in this manner.

"Was it the law when the rightful Crown Prince was exiled?" Hearing this, the two nobles who were loyal to the Current Emperor immediately shut up.

The current Emperor wasn’t here yet. So, as low-ranking nobles should not mess with Ferdinand, who was known for his stance.

But Ferdinand’s words were heard by everyone. With enhanced senses, it was impossible not to hear what he said.

With his few sentences, he made it clear who he supported in this growing unrest.

Duke Cassian also heard Ferdinand’s words. He was surprised. He did not think Ferdinand would be so vocal about this.

"What His Majesty has done to this Emperor is something that no other Emperor before him have managed to do." He looked at the Baron and the Viscount before looking at others.

"He has successfully managed to divide the nobles of this Empire. Nowadays, our rival Empires don’t even take us seriously anymore."

"Duke Ferdinand, you can’t slander His Majesty like this just because His Majesty took control over the Spirit Stone Mine in your territory." Just then, a man with long blond hair entered the hall.

He was one of the Elders of the Night Rider Sect. The Night Rider Sect was located west of the Celestial Dragon Empire. The Sect and the Empire were close allies. It was expected that the Sect would send someone here today.
