Dragon Genesis: I Can Create Dragons

Chapter 647: A human from another land stands in my territory.

Chapter 647: A human from another land stands in my territory.

"You sought to break the Treaty after all.

I cannot say I am surprised."

A calm, deep, ancient and terrifying voice echoed throughout the Heights and the reaction to it was instantaneous.

Lavinia’s head snapped up in an instant, Kael, who was half expecting, half hoping for this to happen, prepared himself as well.

Suddenly, his senses felt the space around him tremble, so he did what any sane man would do and stepped aside.

And as if waiting for it—

The Space itself twisted.

Right above the battlefield, not too far from the Sky Kingdom army, a huge portal opened.

It was not like a normal Sanctuary portal people were used to seeing, neither was it similar to Kael’s own portal.

This was different.

It was a ridiculously big, dark and... seemingly heavy portal.

It was almost as if instead of a Sanctuary, it was linked to an entirely different world. Threatening black light moved along its edges, and the pressure pouring out of it alone was enough to make the soldiers below feel like their knees were about to buckle.

Then—

Something stepped out.

A claw.

An enormous, terrifying claw made out of pitch-black scales that looked like they could pierce through the strongest known material with ease.

Then the other claw came out, then a long neck and finally—

The massive terrifying body that seemed far too huge to belong in the world of men.

And the people who saw it—

Their eyes widened in disbelief.

An actual Steel Dragon.

A Mythical Beast that hadn’t appeared in the world in the past twelve hundred years, it was finally here.

It finally came out.

The people stared at it.

At its pitch-black scales that had a dangerous shine, at those cold, piercing golden eyes that opened slowly.

Terrifying.

That was the only word that appeared in people’s heads.

Most of them couldn’t help but lower their heads, and those who did look up, they only stared because their minds had shut down.

And just like that—

With one single entrance, the entire battlefield, that was about to become a bloodbath, froze as every single person felt the effect of that presence.

The Sky Kingdom soldiers, who had arrived here with arrogant looks and overwhelming force, now stared at the entity in front of them with sheer terror.

Astrael had it the worst.

His face changed completely, his eyes widened in fright and his body stiffened, even his Seraphel, his strongest Bond, was trembling in disbelief.

As someone who knew about Guardian Beasts, as someone who had read proper history and learned about the existence of a Steel Dragon.

This entity in front of him was far more terrifying than anything he had ever witnessed in the world.

And it wasn’t just him or the Sky Army—

The Velmourns were no different.

One would think the Velmourns would celebrate since they were seeing their guardian beast after so many generations, but as these people stared at the entity above them.

They too, only felt fear.

Their faces paled, their bodies stiffened up.

The Stonefangs and the other tribes were the same, they looked up with wide eyes, many of them directly dropped their weapons, not wanting to offend whatever it was.

Kael noticed it all.

He saw their reactions and he...

He wasn’t exactly shocked.

Neither at their reaction, nor at the appearance of the Steel Dragon because...

Both he and Lavinia had this faint idea that the Steel Dragons were still alive, they just... stopped appearing or helping or interfering with the Velmourns after the humiliation twelve hundred years ago.

Honestly, this was the only reason Kael was pushing himself this far, the only reason he spoke so boldly in front of Astrael, even though he knew well enough that if a fight truly broke out, this wouldn’t end well for them.

He was secretly hoping the Steel Dragon would appear and interfere.

And if he did not...

Then Kael was prepared to surrender.

Yes, he was never going to fight, that was foolish.

And it wasn’t even about how outmatched they were, Kael wasn’t just building castles in the air when he thought about activating the Ascendent of the Ancient and killing Astrael before he even had the chance to bring out the rest of his Bonds.

If he timed it right, he could actually do that.

Just that...

Even if his plan worked, even if he did kill Astrael and killed most of the Sky Army so that the remaining wouldn’t dare to attack him or his people—

This would only lead to permanent enmity with the Sky Kingdom.

And next time, it wouldn’t just be a mere ten thousand soldiers, it would be hundreds of thousands.

And the Heights, even with him standing at the frontline, was nowhere strong enough to face that army.

Attacking Astrael here was no different from pushing his people to their certain death, and Kael was not planning to do that. He couldn’t have these people die, not after they finally defeated all odds and had the slightest chance of survival.

He would have surrendered together with Lavinia and seen what happened from there on.

Not that any of that mattered right now.

His gamble worked.

The Steel Dragon did exist and he was standing right in front of him.

And that—

That changed everything.

Now, nothing was stopping him from killing Astrael, because even if he did, even if the Sky Kingdom declared the Heights as its enemy, they would never attack it.

Not when it had the Steel Dragon defending it.

After all, they needed their own Guardian Beast to face the Steel Dragon, that was the only way they stood a chance and...

Considering how tense the political situation in the world was, the Sky Dragon would almost never summon their Guardian Beast, not at this moment.

It would weaken them to a terrifying degree.

So yes, Astrael could now be killed.

And Astrael seemed to know this as well.

So as the Demi God stood in the presence of a Dragon, he kept his head down.

As for the Dragon—

He looked around, at everything happening in this place, then, he saw the Sky Army, their Insignia and in his deep, vast voice—

"A human from another land stands in my territory. Bold indeed."

He commented and Astrael—

He flinched.
