Dragon Genesis: I Can Create Dragons

Chapter 404: You really want a beating, don’t you?

Chapter 404: You really want a beating, don’t you?

The world seemed to stop.

It was a soft, light kiss at first, almost as if she was afraid that he might wake up if she was too rough. However, as their lips met, Lavinia’s mind froze, her breath caught in her throat.

For a heartbeat, she thought about pulling away—yet something inside her refused to let go.

Instead, something inside her made her press in a little more.

Their lips met fully now, Lavinia could clearly feel Kael’s warm and trembling lips through hers. It was a feeling she couldn’t describe, it… it seemed to have this intoxicating power of making her forget where she was.

Kael didn’t wake up, but his body stirred faintly, as if even in his sleep, he was now able to sense her presence. His arm around her tightened, pulling her closer.

Ba-dump Ba-dump Ba-dump

Her heart pounded wildly, her red face now resembled a tomato, she could swear she saw steam coming out of her head, but she was too intoxicated by this feeling to be sure about anything right now.

Lavinia was Princess of one of the strongest Kingdoms in all Nerathis. She had read her fair share of romance stories during her years, she had… obviously fantasized what her first kiss would be like.

But…

Whatever she had in her mind…

It definitely was not… this.

To think she would one day be kissing a sleeping man and what’s worse?

To think she would enjoy it!

The Mage felt like a sinner.

Her body continued to move on its own and suddenly, she began sucking his soft lips. Why? She had no clue. It was as if her body wanted to try and do everything she could think of before he woke up and she was placed inside a jail.

Kael’s warm fingers constantly tracing her bare back, almost as if telling her to continue, was not helping one bit.

In the end, the Mage simply closed her eyes and let herself sink into the moment, not thinking about anything anymore.

Her breath mingled with his uneven one, his warmth continued to envelop her. Lavinia could feel his hastened heartbeat calming down, her fingers too, tangled in his hair, holding him gently.

Seconds stretched into what felt like minutes.

The kiss lingered.

Kael’s body started returning to normal.

His body temperature was now only slightly hotter than normal, his heartbeat and breathing had calmed down, and the trembling had stopped.

Lavinia realized that Vitaria’s method worked.

Kael was okay now.

She sighed in relief, but at the same time,

It also meant something else—

She no longer had the reason to stay so close.

As unwilling as she was, the Mage ended the kiss and tried to move away. In her mind, Kael still needed rest and he wouldn’t be able to get a proper one with her sticking so close to him. However, the instant she moved her hand away from Kael’s back, wanting to roll away—

Kael, in his sleep, coiled his arms around her and pulled her closer. She tried to resist but Kael answered that by wrapping his legs around hers, completely locking her in a position where she couldn’t move.

Her body now remained stuck in his arms, her face was now right above his neck. For a very strange, completely inexplicable reason, something in her body told her to lick Kael’s neck. Lavinia, however, managed to hold the last bit of her dignity and stopped herself from doing it.

In the end, after a few more insincere efforts of trying to get out of his hold, the Mage simply gave in and closed her eyes, making herself comfortable.

And just like that…

The comparatively short night passed with the Hero and the Mage wrapped around each other, not even letting the air pass through them.

A few hours passed by in an instant, both Lavinia and Kael were tired after a long day, so they slept for a little longer than they usually did.

However, Kael was someone who had trained his body to the limit. Even if it didn’t wake up at its usual time, as more time passed, his body woke up on its own.

“Snfff.”

It began with a light sniff as his brows furrowed. Soon, his eyelids started to twitch.

For a moment, he didn’t move, or more accurately, he couldn’t move.

He felt… heavy. Heavy yet… warm and comfortable.

His brows furrowed even more as his eyes finally opened, and the instant they did, he blinked.

As his vision cleared up, he finally realized he wasn’t lying alone.

Lavinia was wrapped in his arms, her face pressed softly against his chest, her hair spilling across him like strands of silk. His arms had locked tightly around her during the night—so tight that it looked as though he was holding onto her for dear life. Even if she wanted to move, she couldn’t.

Kael’s brows furrowed. His heart skipped as the confusion settled in.

‘What… is happening…?’

This obviously wasn’t his first time waking up with Lavinia, but it was definitely the most… intimate.

After all, usually, his Bonds were right next to the two of them, but today… they weren’t.

More and more questions started appearing in his head.

What’s happening?

Where were his children?

With all these questions in his head, he shifted slightly, wanting to move away while also making sure she did not wake up, but then he froze, his breath caught in his throat as he realized something.

His hand… his hand wasn’t on fabric—it was under her shirt. He was directly touching her warm bare back and it wasn’t a normal touch, he had this woman wrapped around his arms as if he had every right to hold her however he wished.

Ba-dump Ba-dump Ba-dump

His heart began to pound faster, his body began twitching as he couldn’t believe what was happening.

‘Wh-what the…? How…?’

He stuttered in his mind as panic rushed through him, his mind shouting at him to move, but his body didn’t listen. The heat of her skin against his, the rhythm of her soft breathing—it stopped him.

Instead of pulling away, his grip only tightened without him realizing.

Kael lay still, staring at this ridiculously beautiful woman wrapped in his arms with wide eyes. His body was tense, yet at the same time, something inside him eased. The steady warmth of her body felt… too comforting.

Slowly, his lips parted as he let out a shaky breath.

“…what happened last night…?”

A faint smoke curled out of his mouth when he said those words, a pale mist that rose and disappeared almost instantly.

Kael blinked, a little surprised. His body tensed up again as he realized something.

It was cold…

Much colder than normal.

He exhaled again, slower this time, and once more the thin trail of fog formed in the air and this time, he was sure.

Winter was here.

However, before Kael could think or do anything about it—

“Indeed, what did happen last night, Father?”

A light, playful, foxy voice was heard. Kael’s body shook as he quickly saw his children standing at a distance with Vitaria smirking at him.

At his sudden reaction, Vitaria’s grin widened,

“You shouldn’t move like that, Father, you will wake her up.

The poor girl already went through a lot yesterday night, she must be tired.”

The Fox shook her head in ‘worry.’

“What happened last night?”

Kael repeated the question as he stared at Igni. Yes, at Igni. He obviously trusted his firstborn more than the Fox. If anything, the Fox was the last person he wanted to see because of the state he was in right now.

However…

“Do you truly not recall anything?”

The Fox questioned.

“A Nightmare maybe…”

She suggested in a light tone.

Kael narrowed his eyes. Soon, however, he froze as he recalled that horrifying nightmare he saw. His body quickly tensed up as he stared at his children.

“Your body was reacting to your nightmare, it suddenly started trembling and heating up, your heartbeat and breathing became erratic as well.

It scared us quite a bit.

If it wasn’t for her calming you down…”

Vitaria spoke, her eyes staring at sleeping Lavinia,

“We wouldn’t have known what to do.”

She completed her sentence.

Hearing those words, Kael slowly turned towards Lavinia and—

“How did she calm me down…?”

He questioned in a low voice as he gently trailed his finger along her hair.

“We don’t know, she simply hugged you and your body eased down on its own. We were actually waiting for you to wake up and explain to us what happened.”

The Fox explained, making Kael frown. He turned towards her again and tilted his head in confusion,

“You were waiting for me…?”

“Mhm.”

Vitaria nodded.

“It all started with a nightmare, so we thought her hugging you in such a manner made you see something in your dream that calmed you down.

So we wanted to know what was it that you saw…”

Vitaria’s voice died down with a knowing grin and Kael…

When he finally remembered what he ‘saw’ in his dream, his entire face turned beet red.

No wonder!

No wonder he woke up holding Lavinia the way he was!

It all made sense now!!

With a red face, he stared at his children, and the moment he saw the smirk on Vitaria’s face, his mouth twitched.

The Fox, however, pushed it even further and—

“What is it, Father?

Mind telling us what you—”

“You better drop this when I am telling you to, Vita.”

“But I—”

“You really want a beating, don’t you?

Don’t think I haven’t realized that you let that Stonefang capture you on purpose.”

Kael threatened and Vitaria’s body flinched.

The Hero then stared at all his children and—

“Leave.”

He ordered, opening the Sanctuary. The children did as they were told and Kael, who was now left alone with Lavinia in the room…

He stared at her sleeping face for a good minute and then, with a blushing face, he lay down next to her, his hand once again moving under her shirt as he pulled her closer and closed his eyes.
