Chapter 373: I SAID LET HER GO!!
Chapter 373: I SAID LET HER GO!!
“Zul’dra vekhda, zul’tar vekh’dan shaal’gul!! Tharn graakh zul, veth’mor dul draak’mor!!”
One Stonefang warrior spoke as he grabbed Vitaria by her neck and lifted her in the air, as if trying to rip her head off, and Kael’s entire body froze when he saw that sight.
He did not know what the warrior said, neither did he have to, heck, he didn’t see the warrior—his eyes only focused on one thing.
Vitaria.
The fox’s tiny paws tried to pull the warrior’s hand away as she kicked at the air, thrashing and doing everything she could to resist—but nothing worked.
“Father…”
And Vitaria began crying, her tearful purple eyes were now looking for her father as her body started losing its strength.
When Kael saw those tears, something inside him snapped.
The battlefield, the enemies, the strategy—none of it mattered anymore.
“You filthy little shit.
Get your hand off her.”
He spoke in a voice so unforgiving and cold that it felt like it came from the depths of hell. He glared at the back of the warrior holding Vitaria, and before anyone could understand what was happening—
“I SAID LET HER GO—RRRROOOOAAAARRRRRRRRR!!”
Kael roared, his voice shattered the very air around him.
A voice that no human should be able to produce, a deeper, heavier voice that felt like hundreds of demonic voices screamed with him at once.
And then—Kael’s body moved.
He activated his trump card,
[Ascendent of the Ancients]
And his body began transforming as he shot toward the Stonefang warrior.
The air around him changed, the sky above them turned red, clouds twisted as if fleeing, a burning hot wind swept across the battlefield as the temperature rose.
It was a sight that attracted every being’s attention—be it the Velmourn soldiers, Sergeant Leron, the Stonefang warriors, Gruumak, Lavinia, Igni, or Morvain and Korvath, who had sped through to get here faster and barely made it in time to see it—but Kael couldn’t care less.
He was faster than anything—before anyone could react to his movement, even his transformation.
Yes, even before his transformation was finished, he was already near the Stonefang warrior.
The world around him had blurred, there was even a thunderous boom because of his movement, but he couldn’t hear—it had long since broken the sound barrier.
No one could react.
Not the Velmourns.
Not the Stonefangs.
They couldn’t even see Kael right now, they only saw the changes he made in the environment around him.
The only one who felt something was the Stonefang warrior holding Vitaria. A blazing heat that felt like it was going to burn his back—he wanted to react, he wanted to turn around and see what was happening, but—
It was already too late.
BOOOOOOM
A blazing figure slammed into him from above with a force so strong that it shattered the ground beneath them.
A clawed hand, coated in flame, grabbed the arm he had used to hold the fox and—
Tear
Ripped it apart, tearing it completely off.
“AAARRGGG—MMFFHFF!!”
The warrior shrieked in agony, but the scream didn’t last long. Another clawed hand grabbed him by the neck, exactly how he had been holding Vitaria, making it so that the warrior couldn’t even scream, and then—
He was taken into the air with his body hanging onto the claw that seemed to burn his skin.
All of this happened in an instant. To others, they only heard a demonic, almost otherworldly roar as they felt burning winds touch their bodies—and just the next second, an unknown entity with burning red scales all over his body and large flaming wings on his back was holding a Stonefang warrior in the air.
It was a sight that horrified everyone, but the one who was affected by it the most was the warrior.
His arm was ripped, his neck was burning, his entire body was in pain as blood continued to flow out of his shoulder but…
He couldn’t even scream in pain.
No, his mind simply couldn’t focus on the pain—it was still comprehending what it was seeing.
The monstrous being with red scales covering half of his face, flaming long hair that floated without any wind, the golden eyes that glared at him in fury—
It… it was the first time he had seen something like this.
“Drak—”
He tried speaking but—
“I told you to let her go.”
Then he heard a demonic voice. He couldn’t understand the words, but his very being trembled. Tears rolled down his cheeks without stop but then—
FWOOOOOSH
The Stonefang’s entire body ignited.
It didn’t burn like normal fire.
This fire howled.
It devoured him—not just his flesh, but his very existence.
In seconds, there was nothing left.
The Stonefang’s ash fell and even that was burned out of existence before it reached the ground.
He was gone.
Completely.
His entire existence was erased.
And as if that wasn’t enough—Kael’s golden eyes slowly turned toward the other Stonefangs—the ones who had been standing near Vitaria.
The Stonefangs flinched. For some reason, their instincts warned them to run. It all happened so fast that they couldn’t react, and by the time they could do anything about it—
FWOOOOOSH
The air caught fire as ten massive pillars of flame erupted from the ground.
Each one engulfed a Stonefang warrior.
They didn’t even have time to scream.
Their mouths opened—
But the fire swallowed their voices before the sound could come.
Their bodies turned to ash, rising with the flames.
The pillars stretched high, reaching the red sky, twisting and writhing like serpents made of hellfire—
It wasn’t just execution—it was a warning.
A warning to the entire world.
This is what happens when you touch his family.
Even the Stonefangs who weren’t close—who had been spared—fell silent. None of them felt the anger they usually felt when their comrades perished.
No, there was no place for anger when all they could feel was… fear.
A fear they had never felt before, a fear so deeply ingrained into their bodies that they wouldn’t forget this day for the rest of their lives.
Clang Clang Clang
Some of the Stonefangs directly dropped their weapons.
Many took a step back.
Even their beasts growled uneasily, pacing with uncertainty.
No one wanted to move.
They all stared at one entity.
The one standing still in the red sky with fire pillars surrounding him. His golden eyes glowed intensely, his wings stretched wide behind him, the scales on his body pulsed with rage as smoke rose from his fingertips.
Silence.
Absolute silence fell over the place.
It wasn’t just the Stonefangs—even the Velmourn soldiers were frozen, unable to believe what they were seeing. They had never seen Kael like this.
The battlefield that had been loud and full of chaos just seconds ago… went quiet.
Looking at the Stonefang warriors, it was hard to tell that these were the same people who were laughing at Kael’s hesitation before.
Even Lavinia stopped.
Her eyes trembled.
“Kael…?”
She muttered softly.
Igni too, stared at his father, a little worried.
But Kael didn’t react to any of these gazes. He raised his right arm again—an action that made every Stonefang twitch, scared of what was about to come next, even Gruumak was no exception.
Every Stonefang could tell that more of them were about to be burned, but even then…
None of them moved.
Even though they knew who was going to kill their people, even though some of the Stonefangs were standing close to that monster—
Not a single one of them moved.
These brave warriors, who even jumped at a Dragon wanting to tear it apart just so they could feed their people, currently stood still—waiting for the monster to burn their comrades while secretly hoping that they were spared.
That was the sort of impact Kael had on them.
But then—
FWOOOOOOSH
Just as everyone expected, flames moved again. But this time, they didn’t burn anyone. Rather, a massive wall of fire erupted between the Velmourns and the Stonefang armies that were about to clash with each other.
It burned hot and bright—
So bright it was blinding.
The ground cracked.
The air shimmered.
It was as if the world itself trembled beneath the fire’s heat.
“A-A-A Wall of Fire…”
“H-He created it in… seconds…”
“I-I didn’t s-see Magic Circles…”
Behind the wall, the Velmourn soldiers stared in disbelief and awe.
Some shielded their faces from the heat.
Some directly fell to their knees, treating Kael as if he was a God.
The other side wasn’t much different—
The Stonefangs were frozen as well.
They had never seen fire like this.
“D-D-Drokh’dul… d-dul Draak’mor!!”
{F-F-Flying Man b-became a Dragon!}
“D-Drokh’dul… graal…”
{F-Flying man s-strong…}
“Drokh’dul… Shaar’mor!!”
{Flying man a God!}
And then—Kael’s eyes moved across the battlefield—locking with Gruumak, who, instead of fighting with Lavinia, was currently staring at everything in absolute disbelief.
When the chief saw Kael’s golden eyes looking at him, his body flinched.
Was it finally his turn…?
He questioned inwardly, and even now, when he was right at death’s door, his body refused to move.
He already knew it—this wasn’t something he could resist. It was far, far beyond what he was capable of.
He simply gave in.
But then—
“Leave. Now.”
Kael spoke in a cold, unmoving voice, and despite there being a language barrier between the two, Gruumak very quickly understood what it was.
It was mercy.
One final time.
The being wanted him to leave without any more deaths.
And—
Gruumak followed those words.
“SHARRAK!!”
{RETREAT!}
He ordered.
