Douluo: Seven Treasure Pagoda? I'm Actually a Summoner!
Chapter 275: Jiang Li’er Puts Aside Her Playfulness
Chapter 275: Chapter 275: Jiang Li’er Puts Aside Her Playfulness
She took a deep breath, turned around, and began her descent.
At the entrance to the Forbidden Zone, Bo Saixi stood in quiet stillness.
Her gaze rested upon the steps, and upon the aquamarine figure making her way down; a flicker of complex emotion crossed her eyes.
The Nine Trials of the Sea God...
This child was far more resilient than she had imagined.
She had originally assumed that Shui Bing’er would require at least several months to complete the First Trial.
She never expected it to happen so quickly.
Moreover, she was still continuing her ascent.
Lord Sea God, the one you have chosen is indeed exceptional.
She thought to herself in silence.
Shui Bing’er descended the steps and approached Bo Saixi, offering a slight curtsy: "Grand Priestess."
Bo Saixi nodded: "Well done. Go back and rest."
Shui Bing’er acknowledged the command, stepped out of the Forbidden Zone, and settled down to rest outside while waiting for Ye Lingling.
...
Inside the courtyard.
Jiang Bai sat cross-legged beside the clear spring in the center of the yard, his eyes closed.
Bi Ji sat beside him, her eyes closed as well.
A faint, emerald-green radiance swirled around the bodies of both individuals.
The light was soft and warm, imbued with a rich aura of life force. The beams of light intertwined and resonated with one another, resembling two entwining vines.
The ethereal silhouette of Bi Ji’s Emerald Swan shimmered faintly behind her—its slender neck and elegant posture exuding a sacred, gentle halo.
Behind Jiang Bai, the Nine-Colored Glazed Pagoda rotated slowly, its nine-hued radiance flowing in a ceaseless stream.
Within that nine-colored brilliance, a faint trace of emerald-green light could be discerned—the Life Force he had learned from Bi Ji, now in the process of fusing with his own Nine-Colored Power.
Two months had passed.
His comprehension of the Power of Creation had evolved from a state of utter bewilderment to one where he had finally begun to grasp its very threshold.
The Power of Creation—the ability to bring life into existence from absolute nothingness.
It was not merely simple healing or restoration; it was an ability of a far higher order.
Life Force could heal wounds and restore vitality, but it could not create life.
The Power of Creation, however, could. What Jiang Bai needed to do now was to use the Power of Life to reach out and touch that door.
...
In the afternoon, Shui Bing’er and Ye Lingling returned.
Ye Lingling’s complexion was somewhat pale, yet her eyes held a glint of joy.
She walked over to the clear spring, removed her veil, cupped her hands to scoop up some water to wash her face, and then sat down nearby.
After passing the first trial of the Supreme Eight Trials, her Soul Power had advanced by one rank—rising from Rank 73 to Rank 74. Furthermore, the cultivation age of her Soul Rings had increased by five hundred years.
She had also received a God-Bestowed Soul Ring—a ring generated specifically to suit her physical condition, perfectly harmonizing with both her Martial Soul and her constitution.
...
As evening fell, the setting sun glowed red as blood.
Jiang Bai opened his eyes and let out a long, deep breath.
He raised his right hand, palm facing upward.
A cluster of emerald-green light materialized in his palm; the light was soft and warm, radiating a rich, potent aura of life.
However, upon closer inspection, a faint trace of gold could be glimpsed within that emerald glow. This was not the golden radiance bestowed as a reward for the God Trials, but rather the distinct color of the Power of Creation itself.
Bi Ji opened her eyes and gazed at the cluster of light in his palm, a flicker of astonishment crossing her features.
"Jiang Bai... have you actually touched the threshold?"
Jiang Bai nodded. "I’ve caught a faint sensation of it. But it’s still just out of reach; I feel as though there’s a barrier separating me from it—something I just can’t seem to break through."
Bi Ji smiled gently. "There is no need to rush. The Power of Creation is not something one can fully comprehend overnight."
Jiang Bai dispelled the light in his palm, stood up, and stretched his limbs to loosen his muscles.
"That is true."
He glanced toward Shui Bing’er and Ye Lingling in the courtyard; seeing that they were both immersed in their cultivation, he chose not to disturb them.
"Where is Li’er?" he asked.
Bi Ji shook her head. "She headed out early this morning, saying she was going to find Sea Star Douluo to go fishing."
Jiang Bai smiled wryly.
That girl certainly knows how to find ways to amuse herself.
...
Somewhere on Sea God Island, atop a rocky reef.
Jiang Li’er sat perched on the reef, a fishing rod held in her hands. At her feet sat a wooden bucket, inside of which several shimmering silver sea fish flopped about. Starfish Douluo sat beside her, also fishing.
The two sat side by side, facing the sea, the setting sun casting long shadows upon them.
"Little girl, why are you so quiet today?" Starfish Douluo asked.
Jiang Li’er looked at the sea and said calmly, "Thinking about something."
"Thinking about what?"
"Thinking about...when will I become stronger?"
Starfish Douluo glanced at her, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.
In the past two and a half months, he had grown accustomed to this little girl’s antics, always picking fights or sparring with everyone.
Seahorse Douluo had been beaten by her, Sea Spear Douluo had been beaten by her, and he had been beaten by her too.
Even Sea Dragon Douluo wasn’t spared.
She had fought almost every Saint Pillar Douluo on the entire Seagod Island, except for High Priestess Bo Saixi.
Today’s sudden quietness was somewhat unusual for him.
"You’re already very strong," said Starfish Douluo. "Stronger than all of us old guys."
Jiang Li’er shook her head: "Not enough. Not strong enough."
She looked at the sea.
Jiang Bai was already level ninety-eight.
Bing’er and Lingling were both diligently cultivating and had both passed the Divine Trial.
And her?
She also cultivated, but mostly played around.
She didn’t want to fall behind.
Starfish Douluo looked at her, remained silent for a moment, then smiled.
"Little girl, cultivation isn’t something that can be achieved overnight. You have great talent, better than all of us old guys. As long as you’re willing to put in the effort, you’ll catch up with them sooner or later."
Jiang Li’er turned her head, looked at him, and grinned: "You’re right."
She put away her fishing rod and stood up.
"I’m not fishing anymore. I’m starting to cultivate tomorrow!"
Starfish Douluo was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter.
"Good! That’s spirited!"
Jiang Li’er waved at him, then her figure flashed, transforming into a golden streak of light and disappearing from the spot.
Sea Star Douluo watched the direction she left in, shook his head, his eyes full of amusement.
This little girl is getting more and more interesting.
...
Inside the courtyard.
Jiang Li’er descended from the sky, landing in the center of the yard.
Startled by the commotion she caused, Shui Bing’er and Ye Lingling opened their eyes.
"Sister Li’er, you’re back?" Shui Bing’er asked.
Jiang Li’er nodded and walked toward the center of the courtyard.
"Starting today, I’m going to cultivate as well."
Shui Bing’er blinked in surprise, then smiled: "Sister Li’er, have you finally come around?"
Jiang Li’er gave a huff: "I’ve always had it figured out, alright? I just wasn’t in the mood before."
Ye Lingling watched her, a faint glint of amusement flickering in her eyes.
Jiang Bai stepped out of the house; seeing the earnest look on Jiang Li’er’s face, he smiled.
"Very well. Then cultivate diligently. If there’s anything you don’t understand, just come and ask us."
Jiang Li’er nodded.
Once a Title Douluo reaches Rank 95, breaking through to the next level becomes incredibly difficult.
It requires not only the accumulation of soul power but also a deeper understanding and mastery of one’s own Martial Soul and inherent strength.
...
After resting for several days, Shui Bing’er and Ye Lingling arrived at the Ring Sea to undertake the Sea God’s Second Trial.
Bo Saixi stood atop a towering reef at the water’s edge; her crimson robes billowed wildly in the sea breeze, and the pressure radiating from her—though inwardly restrained—remained utterly soul-shaking, causing even the surrounding seawater to ripple slightly in response to her presence.
Her gaze swept calmly over Shui Bing’er and Ye Lingling as her clear, cool voice rang distinctly in their ears: "The Second Trial: Break through the encircling blockade. You must cross the Ring Sea from this point and reach the opposite shore."
"For this trial, the only restriction is the use of flight-based soul skills. The circulation of soul power and the activation of other soul skills are entirely unrestricted; you may fight with your full strength. The soul beasts inhabiting these waters will do everything in their power to stop you. Whether or not you succeed depends entirely on your own capabilities."
Shui Bing’er’s gaze deepened slightly. The trial forbade only flight, imposing no other shackles; given their current strength, she and Ye Lingling were more than capable of fighting without holding anything back.
Standing silently beside her, Ye Lingling—her expression obscured by the black veil covering her face—was likewise fully prepared to face the challenge ahead. "Go. I shall be waiting for you on the opposite shore." As Bo Saixi’s voice faded, her figure instantly transformed into a streak of crimson light, vanishing into thin air.
