Chapter 1155: Chapter 1147: Continuing the Search for the Culprit 3

The doctor rushed over and began to detach the equipment, the procedure complex with various wires and lights everywhere.

Tiana Thorne watched, her eyes dazzled.

It took the doctor almost three minutes to remove the equipment.

But it was driving Tiana crazy with concern; watching his leg swell more and more, as if thick blood was about to burst out from the muscle.

Terrifying.

Every minute the equipment remained on his leg increased the danger.

"Doctor, what’s happening? Wasn’t this supposed to reduce the swelling and quickly help him recover? Now it’s worse, and Brother Aiden is in so much pain." Tiana just wanted answers.

The doctor looked serious, almost puzzled by the situation: "This has never happened before. This equipment is designed to help reduce swelling and alleviate pain, and it has always worked well until now."

"Is there any group of people who shouldn’t use it?"

"Anyone can use it," the doctor replied.

"Could it have been tampered with?" Tiana blurted out instinctively.

"We can’t rule out that possibility." The doctor adjusted his glasses and carefully examined the equipment.

The equipment was imported, costing tens of millions, expensive both to acquire and to use.

But this time, it had only worsened the situation.

"This was plugged in incorrectly!" The doctor inspected the wiring, frowning: "How could it be plugged in wrong? What were you doing?"

He directed his question at the nurse.

In a hospital, precision is paramount for both doctors and nurses; any mistake could cost lives.

It’s a rule that both doctors and nurses must adhere to.

Such a mistake should never occur.

The nurse felt wronged: "I did check it thoroughly. There was no mistake. I always check every piece of equipment once more before using it on a patient!"

The doctor had intended to reprimand the nurse, but upon further inspection of the wiring, what shocked him most was finding the medication inside had been switched.

And the purpose behind the switch was to ensure Aiden Shaw would be permanently paralyzed.

The doctor stopped scolding the nurse, his expression was serious as he looked at Tiana: "The equipment was indeed tampered with. Someone wants to ensure Mr. Shaw never stands again!"

The moment he said that, Tiana’s heart raced: "Who would be so bold to do this right under our noses, without getting caught?"

She found it puzzling, as she had been there the entire time.

A hospital, a place full of doctors and nurses; who could have the skill to switch things undetected?

And whoever it was, she and Aiden were together almost all the time, no one had been by.

Except Perry White.

Perry certainly had the opportunity, but she liked Aiden, wouldn’t have done this to him.

Even if she were bitter from love, she wouldn’t go as far as to ruin his leg.

They shared a working relationship; Perry wouldn’t sabotage her own future.

It didn’t seem likely.

Tiana analyzed the situation, dismissing Perry’s involvement seemed unlikely but it couldn’t be ignored.

"Can Brother Aiden’s leg be saved?" Tiana was anxious.

That was the most concerning thing.

Aiden’s leg was bruised and discolored to the point where immediate amputation seemed necessary to save his life.

To him, it was also a deep wound to his dignity.

She wished she could take the pain for him.

Right then, Aiden lay in bed, cold sweat on his forehead, looking very uncomfortable. He remained silent, slipping into a dazed state.

"The injury is not as irreversible as it appears, partly due to Mr. Shaw’s strong constitution. I’ll administer a painkiller to him now."

"Alright, you need to personally oversee this, no more exchanges allowed!" Tiana commanded firmly, only wanting Aiden to be healthy.

"Alright."

She picked up a tissue to wipe the sweat from Aiden’s temples, he must be in intense pain to sweat so much, but he endured it diligently so as not to worry her.
