Chapter 1021: Chapter 1013: Visiting Great-Aunt 2
Aiden Shaw went to help her with the suitcase.
Rouge Jarvis pulled Tiana Thorne to the sofa, and after sitting down, gently held her slightly cold hand, soothing her: "Mom believes in you."
Upon hearing this, Tiana’s heart fluttered.
It seems that because of those unethical journalists, her mom already knew about the matter.
When she returned, she didn’t ask anything, not even a hint of anger, but with just three words, made her feel the urge to cry.
Her eyes turned red, and her voice choked for a moment: "Mom..."
Seeing this, Rouge Jarvis let her lean into her embrace, gently patting her back: "Silly girl, what kind of child you are, how could mom not know? If even I don’t trust you, who in this world would?"
Ms. Jarvis truly is a healing presence.
She smiled sweetly, holding back her tears, and nodded heavily: "Mm."
Then, Tiana softly asked, "Weren’t you supposed to be gone for a month? Why are you back so soon?"
Rouge Jarvis said, "Your aunt wasn’t feeling well, so your cousin took her back earlier. I spent a day alone in the temple and started missing you all, so I came back early."
Upon hearing this, Tiana playfully said, "It’s best that you’re back, mom, I missed you too."
Rouge Jarvis smiled at this, gently kissing her daughter’s forehead.
"How is your second brother now?"
Tiana replied, "He’s recuperating in the hospital. It might take some time before he’s discharged."
"I’ll go see him in the afternoon."
"Mm."
Then, Tiana recounted the entire incident to Rouge Jarvis.
After hearing it, Rouge Jarvis’s expression gradually became heavy.
"We don’t know who the villain behind all this is. In the future, be cautious in everything."
Tiana nodded: "Mm."
Looking at her delicate face, Rouge Jarvis tightened her grip on Tiana’s hand, with countless words inside her heart but only expressing concern: "I’ll have Isaac watch over you while you work, Tiana, make sure to protect yourself."
She could never endure the pain of losing Poppy a second time.
Neither wanted to nor could she.
It would be the death of her.
Tiana smiled, her lips curling: "Mom, don’t worry, I’ll be fine."
"Mm."
Tiana then remembered their aunt, and eagerly said: "Mom, since Aunt’s not well, why don’t we go see her together?"
Hearing this, Rouge Jarvis nodded and smiled: "Sure, just the other day, I was telling her you’re back, and she was so happy she cried, asking me to bring you over."
"Mom, it seems like you and Aunt have a particularly good relationship."
Rouge Jarvis’s smile gradually softened: "Of course, back then, mom and dad were busy with business, and when I was little, I practically grew up in your Aunt’s house. She treated us as her own daughters."
Upon hearing this, Tiana finally understood her mom’s feelings for her aunt.
The grace of giving birth and the grace of nurturing are the world’s most profound bonds.
Aunt treated mom like a daughter, and now that Aunt is old, it’s natural for mom to be good to her, that’s filial piety.
As they talked, Rouge Jarvis’s eyes gradually turned somber, and she sighed: "Unfortunately, your aunt has been alone all her life, without a husband or children."
Tiana was slightly stunned: "How can that be? Didn’t you just mention a cousin?"
"He’s your aunt’s adopted child."
Tiana asked, "Is our cousin good to her?"
"Mm, just like your brothers are to me."
Hearing this, Tiana was relieved: "Mom, once second brother is better, let’s go visit Aunt. We’ve always meant to but kept putting it off."
"Alright, you rest well, I’ll go to the hospital to see Julian."
Tiana nodded, then watched Rouge Jarvis leave.
Looking at her busy back, she was filled with heartfelt gratitude.
There’s no one like mom.
No words truer. As soon as mom came back, even though she was clearly exhausted, she first comforted her, then went to see her second brother.
Her heart is wholly with her children.
Perhaps, it seems tiring to her, but in mom’s heart, it’s sweet and joyful.
Suddenly, she also wanted to know what it would be like to have children.
Thinking like this, she couldn’t help but softly murmur, "Fourth brother, I want children too."
Aiden Shaw’s throat tightened, looking at her, recalling what the doctor said last time at the hospital.
Her uterus was severely affected by past treatments, making it hard to have her own children in this life.
Seeing him silent, she turned back to him, blinked, her eyes bright and a bit seductive.
Aiden Shaw walked over, picked her up: "Next time, no birth control."
His voice carried a hint of warmth and indulgence, his warm breath brushed her cheeks, inexplicably captivating.
Tiana wasn’t shy at all, smiling: "Alright."
"Get some rest, you didn’t sleep well last night."
Tiana nodded, softly saying: "Mm."
Then, Aiden Shaw carried her to her bedroom, placed her on the bed, tucked her in before getting up to leave.
As he turned, Tiana grabbed his hand, her fox-like eyes blinking cutely, asking: "Can you sleep with me?"
Looking like this, he couldn’t refuse.
He got into the bed, wrapping her in his arms: "Sleep."
Tiana softly murmured: "Goodnight."
She was used to his embrace, his scent, his warmth, and soon, she fell asleep.
This time, she had a beautiful dream.
It was a dream of Jensen’s wedding day. She was too mischievous, stealing and drinking his and Laura’s wedding wine, found it tasted good, and drank an entire pot.
Then she got drunk and made a mess in the bridal chamber.
Jensen, seeing this, was helpless yet reluctant to punish her, could only send her to the temple to reflect on her actions.
Late at night, perhaps worried she couldn’t handle the hangover well, he personally brought sobering soup for her to drink.
"Tiana, you’re a fox, next time, stay away from the wine."
She drank the soup with a gulp, blinking, indicating she understood him.
Then, she rubbed her head against his leg, urging him to return to the bridal chamber, how could he leave the bride to sleep alone?
Jensen picked her up, planting a kiss on her forehead: "I don’t know if it’s an illusion, but I always feel it was you who brought Laura to me, Tiana."
She grinned with her teeth, pretending not to hear clearly.
Then, she jumped off his arms to the ground, watching him leave.
"Jensen, I hope you have a lifetime of happiness."
She murmured, slowly waking up.
The sky was already bright.
She turned around to see Aiden Shaw’s handsome face, he too seemed to have just woken up, smiling, softly called: "Aiden~"
Just waking up, her voice was soft and alluring.
Aiden Shaw’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down, staring at her, and finally asked.
"Sixteen, who is Jensen?"
