Chapter 1013: Chapter 1005: His Obsession 1

Tiana Thorne stopped the conversation.

Aiden Shaw got up to open the door.

He opened the door, and there stood Linden Hawthorne, his face like warm jade: "Linden."

Linden Hawthorne’s eyebrows slightly furrowed as he looked at him and asked softly, "How’s second brother?"

Aiden Shaw replied, "He’s awake now."

Linden Hawthorne entered the room, followed by Vanessa Hawthorne, who saw Tiana Thorne was also there.

Remembering how Julian critically questioned Tiana Thorne earlier and then sent her away, worried that she might lose her temper again, she deliberately avoided looking at her and turned her head away.

Tiana felt a gentle gaze and looked up to see Linden Hawthorne.

His name matched his persona, tall and graceful like a tree swaying in the breeze.

Imposing and tall, he carried a faint, airy quality; his fair skin made him seem gentle yet his indifferent eyes added a chill.

He looked at Julian Ford, his voice smooth as jade: "Second brother."

Julian instinctively glanced at Tiana, unaware of the previous events, assuming this was their first encounter.

He frowned slightly, feeling the atmosphere was somewhat peculiar.

He looked at him and asked, "Linden, when did you come back?"

Linden Hawthorne answered, "I just arrived; met Vanessa on her way back after dropping off my sister, learned you were hurt, so I came to check on you."

"Vanessa told you everything?"

He hesitated briefly, caught a glimpse of Tiana Thorne sitting on the couch, then nodded: "Yes."

"About this incident..."

Linden Hawthorne spoke first, saying, "It has nothing to do with Tiana Thorne."

Julian was slightly stunned, could it be he knows the one who wounded her wasn’t Tiana?

Linden continued, "I had a dreamwalking disorder as a child; if not watched over, I’d do incredible things, uncontrollable by the patient, causing you harm; I believe she’s deeply troubled."

Vanessa, surprised that her normally aloof brother would speak for Tiana Thorne, found his gentle voice reasonable.

Yet thinking of how Julian almost lost his life, had it not been saved...

At this point, she still couldn’t forgive Tiana Thorne.

Even though she knew Julian loved Tiana dearly and would surely not blame her, her own fears prevented her from seeing it as though nothing happened.

She remained silent, sitting on the side, brimming with fury.

The Ford brothers had agreed not to tell anyone the truth, even someone as close as Linden; he merely smiled, pursing his lips: "I know, don’t worry, I don’t blame her."

Listening to him, Linden seemed to relax, tension easing from his face.

He then looked at Aiden Shaw: "You should know my previous expertise, perhaps I can assist with Tiana’s dreamwalking disorder."

Upon hearing this, Tiana looked at him.

Aiden Shaw spoke up, "No need, I’ve hired a doctor for her."

Tiana, who had remained silent till then, spoke courteously: "Mr. Hawthorne."

This address seemed to pull him back to their encounter in Varden, his eyes clear yet deep, moved slightly: "Please speak."

Their manner of speaking and interaction felt distant.

This detachment caused Aiden to feel a hint of discomfort; he respected Tiana immensely and quietly listened.

"Can you really cure my dreamwalking disorder?"

Linden looked straight into her eyes, with an almost imperceptible softness, replied: "Though not a cure, I can alleviate the symptoms."

"Then, if Mr. Hawthorne could find some time to help me, I’d appreciate it; despite my brother having hired a doctor, having an expert’s second opinion would be beneficial."

Linden pursed his lips, his gaze gentle: "Okay."

Julian, always able to read his sister’s thoughts, was puzzled.

It was his sister who said people mustn’t know the truth and sought Linden’s help herself.

Given Linden’s abilities, seeing her condition, he should easily realize she wasn’t a dreamwalking patient.

What’s she thinking?

Perhaps, it’s an opportunity to bid Linden farewell personally?

Listening, Aiden’s face showed no emotion, yet his hands on his knees stiffened slightly, breathing more heavily.

He checked the time, "If you don’t mind, after dinner, go to my school."

Tiana nodded lightly: "Alright."

She glanced at Aiden, not wanting him to have bad thoughts over this.

Then looked at Vanessa, smiling gently, amicably: "Not knowing where your brother’s school is, Miss Hawthorne, maybe you could wait here; my brother must stay with my second brother, making it hard to accompany me, could you kindly take me there this evening?"

With Vanessa accompanying, surely allowing Aiden’s little brother not to overthink.

Seeing this, Julian couldn’t help but smile; previously, his sister claimed to be poor at romance, now she seemed a master, full marks for emotional intelligence.

Vanessa disliked her, retorting coldly: "Needing company for a check-up, brother’s not some beast, really troublesome."

Tiana only smiled silently, gazing at her waiting for her approval.

"Fine, will accompany you."

Tiana smiled, "Thank you."

She understood well, Vanessa wouldn’t refuse, wanting to spend more time with her second brother.

"Since second brother’s fine, I’ll return to school."

Vanessa rose from the sofa, called: "Brother, I’ll see you off."

"Alright."

Vanessa escorted him outside, in the corridor holding him back, displeased, "Brother, Tiana Thorne is Aiden’s girlfriend, scheduling their office visit at night isn’t great."

This little girl, her thoughts sensitive indeed.

Linden mildly helpless, "That’s why she invited you along, right?"

Vanessa understood Tiana’s reasoning, those words earlier were merely provocations, admittedly, Tiana was forthright in relationships.

Pouting slightly: "Clever, binding me, but brother, could’ve scheduled during daylight, not interested."

Linden tapped her forehead, "Agreements must be fulfilled, besides, tonight’s my only available time."

Vanessa doubted, "Really?"

Feeling her brother’s gaze on Tiana filled with something star-like, not like with other women.

He chuckled: "When have I lied to you?"

To Linden, Tiana was unique, evident by what his sister noticed.

However, tonight was his only opportunity, this wasn’t deceit.

"Alright then, I’ll head back now."

As she turned, Linden called her name again: "Vanessa."
